Effects of Ca substitution and surface treatment on electrochemical performances of Ml_(1.0-x) Ca_xNi_(4.0) Co_(0.6) Al_(0.4) hydrogen storage alloy electrodes

The influences of Ca substitution for Ml and surface treatment on electrochemical performances of Ml 1.0- x Ca x Ni 4.0 Co 0.6 Al 0.4 hydrogen storage alloy electrode were investigated. Ca substitution with x 2 for Ml could improve its discharge capacity, but Ca substitution with x >0.2 could decrease the capacity. It was also found that Ca substitution deteriorates the electrocatalytic activity, high rate dischargeability and cycling durability of the alloy electrode. In order to improve these properties of Ml 1.0- x Ca x Ni 4.0 Co 0.6 Al 0.4 alloy electrode, the alloy was treated in 6 mol/L KOH+0.02 mol/L KBH 4 solution. The high mortality rate in hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC)is partially due to the fact that a significant number of patients are diagnosed at an intermediate or advanced stage,with surgical treatment options *** therapy,which involves both locoregional and systemic treatments,has the potential to downstage tumors in selected patients with initially unresectable HCC,thereby making surgical treatment a possibility and potentially increasing long-term *** optimize the conversion rate,it is necessary to maximize successful conversions and clearly define the target population for conversion treatment through a collaborative *** this review article,we summarize the clinical experience and evidence for conversion therapy in patients with‘potentially resectable’HCC from four perspectives:1.defining the target population for conversion therapy,2)selecting the appropriate conversion strategy,placing emphasis on the utilization of combination therapy that exhibits a significant objective response rate,3)determining the timing and urgency of surgical resection,4)promoting the adoption of a multidisciplinary team *** authors are optimistic that with the continuous progress in treatment and a deeper understanding of HCC,the success rate of HCC conversion therapy will increase,and the overall survival of HCC patients will be prolonged.

Force spectrum measurements with constant loading rates are widely used in single-molecule manipulation experiments to study the mechanical stability and force response of ***-dependent transition rates can be obtained from the transition force distribution,but it is limited to the force range with non-zero force *** constant loading rate control can be realized with magnetic tweezers,the loading rate range is limited due to the slow movement of permanent ***-linear exponential and exponential squared force loading functions are more feasible in magnetic tweezers,while there is no theoretical result available for these two kinds of non-linear force loading *** this study,we solved the unfolding process of a protein following Bell's model under nonlinear exponential and exponential squared force loading functions,which offer a broader range of unfolding force distribution compared to the traditional constant loading rate ***,we derived two force loading functions,which can produce uniform unfolding force *** research contributes fundamental equations for the analysis of experimental data obtained through single-molecule manipulation under nonlinear force loading controls,paving the way for the use of nonlinear force control in magnetic tweezer experiments.

Density functional method is applied for strongly correlated systems. Based on the assumption that the systems are composed of electrons in singly-occupied orbitals and those in doubly-occupied orbitals, a set of self-consistent equations are obtained by standard variation procedure. The equations consist of two parts. One part is to solve the wave functions of the electrons in singly-occupied orbitals and the other is to solve the wave functions of the electrons in doubly-occupied orbitals. The physical meanings of the terms appearing in the equations are discussed.

Background: Hepatic ischemia-reperfusion injury (HIRI) stands as an unavoidable complication arising from liver surgery, profoundly intertwined with its prognosis. The role of lysine methyltransferase SET domain bifurcated 1.(SETDB1. in HIRI remains elusive, despite its confirmation as a potential therapeutic target for diverse diseases. Here, we investigated the mechanism by which SETDB1.regulated HIRI. Methods: RNA sequencing data were used to identify the expression and potential targets of SETDB1.through bioinformatics analysis. To elucidate the impact of SETDB1.on HIRI, both an in vivo model of HIRI in mice and an in vitro model of hepatocyte hypoxia/reoxygenation were established. Biochemical and histological analyses were used to investigate the influence of SETDB1.on liver damage mediated by HIRI. Chromatin immunoprecipitation and coimmunoprecipitation were implemented to explore the in-depth mechanism of SETDB1.regulating HIRI. Results: We confirmed that hepatocellular SETDB1.was up-regulated during HIRI and had a close correlation with HIRI-related inflammation and apoptosis. Moreover, inhibition of SETDB1.could mitigate HIRI-induced liver damage, inflammation, and apoptosis. Through our comprehensive mechanistic investigation, we revealed that SETDB1.interacts with apoptosis-signal-regulating kinase 1.(ASK1. and facilitates the methylation of its lysine residues. Inhibition of SETDB1.resulted in reduced phosphorylation of ASK1. leading to a marked suppression of downstream c-Jun N-terminal kinase (JNK)/p38 signaling pathway activation. The therapeutic effect on inflammation and apoptosis achieved through SETDB1.inhibition was nullified by the restoration of JNK/p38 signaling activation through ASK1.overexpression. Conclusions: The findings from our study indicate that SETDB1.mediates lysine methylation of ASK1.and modulates the activation of the ASK1.JNK/p38 pathway, thus involved in HIRI-induced inflammation and apoptosis. Disparities in the Levels of Whole-Blood Epstein-Barr Virus between the Cancer and Non-Cancer Populations in Zhejiang,China
