The objective was to assess the outcome of pregnancies after assisted reproductive technology (ART). It was a case-control study carried out in four health facilities in Douala-Cameroon, over a period of five years. The cases were pregnant women who conceived through ART and the controls were those who conceived naturally. Cases and controls were matched for maternal age and parity (one case for two controls). A logistic regression analysis was used to compute Odds ratios. Statistical significance was set at 0.05. A total of 174 women who conceived through ART and 348 who conceived naturally were enrolled. Background:Capturing general aspects of the occupational subculture of nursing is needed in long-term care(lTC)given its latent influence on the quality of care that residents receive and on the ability of nursing staff(licensed nurses and certified nursing assistants)to implement evidence-based practice *** psychometrically validated Nursing Culture Assessment Tool(NCAT)provides a comprehensive assessment using six dimensions(teamwork,communication,satisfaction,professional commitment,behaviors,and expectations),and evaluation of these dimensions could help positively reshape the culture before any change ***:Aims were to:(1)assess the validity and reliability of the NCAT across nursing staff in a single type of clinical setting e lTC facilities,and(2)present a refined theoretical model of the interaction of culture and practice ***:A cross-sectional,exploratory investigation of the NCAT in lTC settings was *** construct validity of the 19-item NCAT's six subscales was investigated by confirmatory factor analysis using a sample of licensed nurses and certified nursing assistants(n?318).Results:The model fit was judged using the comparative fit index(0.94)and standardized root mean-square residual(0.05).Cronbach's alpha correlation coefficients of items in each subscale and in the overall scale ranged from 0.76 to ***:A summary of the NCAT development and report on its psychometric properties when administered in lTC settings is provided,extending previous findings of the NCAT's enhanced stability when used in assessing nursing staff perceptions in lTC and by demonstrating that the NCAT is a reliable and valid psychometric screening tool for nursing culture.

Background： Canopy structure, defined by leaf area index （lAI）, fractional vegetation cover （FCover） and fraction of absorbed photosynthetically active radiation （fAPAR）, regulates a wide range of forest functions and ecosystem services. Spatially consistent field-measurements of canopy structure are however lacking, particularly for the tropics. Methods： Here, we introduce the Global lAI database： a global dataset of field-based canopy structure measurements spanning tropical forests in four continents （Africa, Asia, Australia and the Americas）. We use these measurements to test for climate dependencies within and across continents, and to test for the potential of anthropogenic disturbance and forest protection to modulate those dependences. Results： Using data collected from 887 tropical forest plots, we show that maximum water deficit, defined across the most arid months of the year, is an important predictor of canopy structure, with all three canopy attributes declining significantly with increasing water deficit. Canopy attributes also increase with minimum temperature, and with the protection of forests according to both active （within protected areas） and passive measures （through topography）. Once protection and continent effects are accounted for, other anthropogenic measures （e.g. human population） do not improve the model. Conclusions： We conclude that canopy structure in the tropics is primarily a consequence of forest adaptation to the maximum water deficits historically experienced within a given region. Climate change, and in particular changes in drought regimes may thus affect forest structure and function, but forest protection may offer some resilience against this effect.

Background: Measuring cognition in clinical practice is clearly essential to the appropriate characterisation of patients’ clinical status and to the development of a personalised care plan. The Screen for Cognitive Impairment in Psychiatry (SCIP) has been developed in order to provide a brief and accessible tool allowing the evaluation of cognitive function in psychiatric conditions. Objective: We present a validation of a French version of the SCIP. Method: Translation from English into French is carried out using the accepted back-translation method. Seventy-two healthy volunteers are characterised by demographic questionnaires and a neuropsychological battery. The French version of the SCIP is then administered on two separate occasions separated by at least a one-week interval. Results: High internal consistencies as well as strong correlations with comparable neuropsychological tests are obtained. A normalised Cronbach’s α = 0.66 is obtained. Conclusions: The French version of the SCIP (SCIP-F) yields results comparable to the English version. The SCIP represents an essential tool for the preliminary evaluation of cognition. Its characteristics, brevity and the lack of need for a technological platform, allow for its integration into clinical practice. Further testing of SCIP-F in various psychiatric conditions will yield valuable information on its potential in clinical settings.

Ti-23Nb-0.7Ta-2Zr-O gum metal(GM)is an attractive candidate material for applications that require superior mechanical *** our earlier investigation of the GM[1],geometrical softening and the generation of adiabatic shear bands(ASBs)were proposed as primary reasons for the documented anisotropic impact *** the present study,electron backscattered diffraction(EBSD)analysis reveals two different deformed microstructures,i.e.,deformed ultrafine grains(UFGs)and dynamically recrystallized UFGs,formed in the ASBs of GM samples processed by extrusion equal channel angular pressing(ECAP),*** calculation of temperature rise during dynamic compression suggests that the above microstructure differences in the ASBs was originated from their different maximum ASB temperatures(608 K for extruded GM and 1159 K for ECAP-processed GM).Moreover,our calculation on the temperature at the onset of ASBs indicates that microstructural softening is the primary cause for the development of ASBs in both extruded GM(321 K)and ECAP-processed GM(331 K).
