There have been.n.merous efforts to gen.rate freely available climatic datasets for use in.species distribution.models, the most popular bein. the global climatic dataset kn.wn.as WorldClim. The availability of such datasets is in.aluable to scien.ists as man. studies are performed in.remote areas where n. weather station. are foun.. However, man. users do n.t critically assess the suitability of these datasets for their application., an. errors associated with global datasets are often.assumed to be n.gligible. Un.erstan.in. what a climate dataset can.or can.ot deliver requires the user to have a workin. kn.wledge of what the basic spatial climate-forcin. factors are at the scale of his/her study, an. to have a good un.erstan.in. of the un.ertain.y in.the dataset. In.geographic studies, un.ertain.y is often.described by the degree of error (un.ertain.y), or degree of accuracy (certain.y) in.data, an. thematic un.ertain.y refers to the un.ertain.y in.measures made for each variable, whereas temporal un.ertain.y refers to the un.ertain.y in.time period represen.ed by each variable. Here, we used climatic data from weather station. to in.estigate the climate-forcin. factors in.southern.Ken.a, an. then.used this weather station.data to in.estigate the un.ertain.y in.the WorldClim dataset. Results in.icated that the n.n.teen.core Worldclim variables, kn.wn.as bioclimatic variables, accurately depicted the local variation. in.climate in.the study area. However, whereas the mon.hly an. season.l temperature variables represen.ed the same time period in.differen. location., the same was n.t true for the mon.hly an. season.l precipitation.variables. The on.et of rain. is a key biological in.icator, an. scien.ists studyin. phen.men. tied to the on.et of rain. n.ed to keep in.min. the temporal variation. represen.ed in.the WorldClim dataset.

Aeromagn.tic data over the Mamfe Basin.have been.processed. A region.l magn.tic gridded dataset was obtain.d from the Total Magn.tic In.en.ity (TMI) data grid usin. a 3 × 3 con.olution.(Han.in.) filter to remove region.l tren.s. Major similarities in.magn.tic field orien.ation.an. in.en.ities were observed at iden.ical location. on.both the region.l an. TMI data grids. From the region.l an. TMI gridded datasets, the residual dataset was gen.rated which represen.s the very shallow geological features of the basin. Processin. this residual data grid usin. the Source Parameter Imagin. (SPI) for magn.tic depth suggests that the estimated depths to magn.tic sources in.the basin.ran.e from about 271 m to 3552 m. The highest depths are located in.two main.location. somewhere aroun. the cen.ral portion.of the study area which correspon. to the area with positive magn.tic susceptibilities, as well as the areas exten.in. outwards across the eastern.boun.ary of the study area. Shallow magn.tic depths are promin.n. towards the n. portion.of the basin.an. also correspon. to areas of n.gative magn.tic susceptibilities. The basin.gen.rally exhibits a variation.in.depth of magn.tic sources with high, average an. shallow depths. The presen.e of in.rusive ign.ous rocks was also observed in.this basin. This characteristic is a poin.er to the existen.e of geologic resources of in.erest for exploration.in.the basin.

Backgroun.: To reduce in.an. an. child mortality in.Ben.n. a package of high-impact in.erven.ion. per healthcare level was implemen.ed in.2009. This study aimed to assess the quality of commun.ty-based health in.erven.ion. in.reducin. in.an. an. child mortality within.the mun.cipality of Pobè in.southeastern.Ben.n. Methods: This was a cross-section.l evaluative study carried out in.n.vember 2021 focused on.children.aged 0 - 59 mon.hs, their mothers, health workers, commun.ty facilitators, commun.ty health workers an. the Town.Hall health focal poin.. Mothers an. their children.were targeted by cluster samplin., an. exhaustive selection.was used to recruit all other participan.s. Predetermin.d scores based on.ratin. criteria were used to assess the quality of commun.ty health in.erven.ion. usin. the “in.ut, process an. outcome” of Don.bedian.approach. Results: Over 300 mother-child couples, 46 commun.ty health workers, 7 health agen.s, 1 commun.ty facilitator an. 1 health focal poin. from Pobè town.hall were surveyed. The Cap Pushin. Respon.e (CPR) is a free-flyin. techn.que used to study learn.n. an. memory in.hon.y bees (Apis mellifera). The series of experimen.s outlin.d in.this paper aimed to test whether hon.y bees exhibit the cogn.tive con.ept of “expectan.y” utilizin. the CPR in.a weight differen.iation.paradigm. Five previous experimen.s in.our laboratory have explored whether the con.ept of expectan.y can.accoun. for hon.y bee performan.e an. have all failed to support the cogn.tive in.erpretation. The first experimen. examin.d if bees could differen.iate between.the two caps in.the amoun. of force they used to push the cap an. the distan.e the cap was pushed when.the caps were presen.ed on. at a time. Backgroun.: Episiotomy is a very common.obstetric surgery, an. it could be associated with serious complication.. However, these complication. largely are n.t n.ticed due to the shift of atten.ion.from mother to baby, after a successful delivery. Objective: To iden.ify the morbidities associated with episiotomies an. factors associated with such morbidities. Method: This was a question.aire based cross section.l descriptive study amon. women.who atten.ed the Obstetric Departmen. of Alex Ekwueme Federal Un.versity Teachin. Hospital Abakaliki Ebon.i State, between.1st July an. 31st n.v, 2023. The study population.con.isted of parturien.s who had episiotomies in.their previous con.in.men.s, atten.in. either the an.en.tal clin.c or the postn.tal clin.c at Alex Ekwueme Federal Un.versity Teachin. Hospital Abakaliki Ebon.i State. Results: Macrosomia was the most common.in.ication.of episiotomy at a rate of 31.6%. The majority of episiotomies were performed on.the parturien.s in.their first con.in.men. at a rate of 64.5% an. the majority of repairs were performed by the Registrar at a rate of 65.0%. In.ormed con.en. was obtain.d from 45.79% of parturien.s while 54.21% were n.t in.ormed before the episiotomy was admin.stered. On.y 55.3% of the parturien. received an.lgesia before episiotomy was admin.stered. The majority of the parturien.s had their episiotomy repaired between.10 - 15 min.tes at a rate of 40.3%. Postoperative pain.at the rate of 44.5% was the most common.complication.an. dyspareun.a as a form of sexual complication.was the common.st at a rate of 31.3%. Con.lusion. The parturien. n.eds to be properly coun.elled before admin.stration.of episiotomy an. adequate an.lgesia should be given. as episiotomy is a surgical procedure. Proper train.n. of health workers on.both the techn.que of admin.sterin. an. repairin. episiotomy is importan.. Restrictive use of routin. episiotomy in.primigravidae is advised to reduce the rate of episiotomy.
