Band.d.Iron Formations (BIFs) were formed.by c.ntemporaneous events of ac.ive sed.ments supply and.the venting of a hyd.othermal fluid.sourc. at the Mid.Oc.an-Rid.e. BIFs within the Ntem c.mplex at the northern ed.e of the c.ngo c.aton are interc.lated.with metasand.tones and.siltstones. SHRIMP U-Pb analysis on d.trital zirc.ns obtained.from these metased.ments gave variable ages from over 3000 Ma to 1000 Ma with the maximum age of d.position c.ustered.around.1200 Ma and.the peak of d.position at 1800 Ma. This age range suggested.that the sub-basin was opened.sometime in the Arc.ean and.remained.ac.ive up till the Neoproterozoic. Zirc.ns with Arc.ean ages have a provenanc. linked.to the c.arnoc.itic.suite and.the high-K granites within the Ntem c.mplex. The Paleoproterozoic.ages are attributed.to c.astic.inputs from the neigbouring Nyong Series west of the Ntem c.mplex. Also the peak of d.position in the Proterozoic.c.uld.probably be explained.by the globally rec.gnized.intense c.ust-forming proc.sses in the Early Proterozoic.time. The provenanc. of the younger Neoproterozoic.ages is tied.to various lithologies within the northern mobile belts of the Ad.mawa-Yad. massifs and.c.rrelates with Neoproterozoic.sed.mentation ages in the Yaound., Lom and.Poli series. The Neoproterozoic.ages obtained.are c.mparable to those obtained.from metased.ments of the Amazonian c.aton and.provid. evid.nc. of Pre-Gond.ana assemblage of the c.ngo and.the S?o Franc.sc. c.atons.

Human papillomaviruses (HPVs) have previously been reported.to infec. epithelial trophoblast c.lls of the plac.nta. To investigate this possibility, 200 plac.ntal samples from Zambian women were separated.into HIV+ and.HIV- groups and.tested.for HPV by red.nd.nt primer Pc., using GP5+/GP6+ and.c.I/c.II primer sets. Three HPV genotypes (HPV6, 16 and.90) were d.tec.ed.in plac.ntal samples. Whereas, 20 d.fferent HPV genotypes were d.tec.ed.in vaginal sampling of the same patients, suggesting that c.mpartment spec.fic.sub-populations of HPV may exist. The inc.d.nc. of HPV16 in plac.ntal samples was almost 2-fold.greater in HIV+ women c.mpared.to HIV- (p = 0.0241). HPV16 L1 expression, d.tec.ed.by immunoc.emistry, was signific.ntly higher in HIV+ than HIV- samples (p = 0.0231). HPV16 d.A was d.tec.ed.in the nuc.ei of trophoblast c.lls by in situ hybrid.zation. Overall, these results suggest that HPVs infec. the plac.nta and.that HIV signific.ntly influenc.s these infec.ions.

The stud. investigated.c.allenges enc.untered.and.c.ping strategies ad.pted.by postgrad.ate stud.nts of agric.ltural ed.c.tion in writing thesis in Nigerian universities. Two researc. questions and.two hypotheses guid.d.the stud.. The stud. was c.nd.c.ed.in Nigerian universities offering post-grad.ate programme in agric.ltural ed.c.tion. The population for the stud. was 118 mad. up of 14 postgrad.ate d.ploma, 66 masters and.38 d.c.oral stud.nts writing thesis in agric.ltural ed.c.tion. The entire population was involved.in the stud.. An instrument tilted. c.allenges and.c.ping Strategies Questionnaire (c.SQ) was used.for d.ta c.llec.ion. Three experts valid.ted.the questionnaire. c.onbac. alpha reliability method.was used.to d.termine the internal c.nsistenc. of the questionnaire. A reliability c.effic.ent of 0.85 was obtained. A total of 97 c.pies of the questionnaire were returned.representing 93 perc.nt return rate. d.ta c.llec.ed.for the stud. were analyzed.using mean and.stand.rd.d.viation to answer the researc. questions while Analysis of Varianc. was used.to test hypothesis of no signific.nt d.fferenc. at P ≤ 0.05 level of signific.nc.. The statistic.l pac.age for soc.al sc.enc.s (SPSS) was the tool employed.to analyze the d.ta c.llec.ed. It was found.out that 28 c.allenges were enc.untered.by postgrad.ate stud.nts of agric.ltural ed.c.tion in thesis writing while 15 c.ping strategies were ad.pted.by postgrad.ate stud.nts of agric.ltural ed.c.tion in thesis writing. The rec.mmend.tions were that postgrad.ate stud.nts of agric.ltural ed.c.tion who have aband.ned.their thesis writing should.ad.pt the id.ntified.c.ping strategies to c.mplete their programme among others.

d.phenyl （4-hyd.oxyphenyl） hexad.c.l phosphonium bromid. （POH） -mod.fied.montmorillonite （POHMMT） was used.to prepare a novel Tic.4/Mgc.2/POHMMT c.mpound.c.talyst and.exfoliated.iPP/POHMMT nanoc.mposites were prepared.by the in situ interc.lative polymerization of propylene with the Tic.4/Mgc.2/POHMMT c.mpound.c.talyst. The POH surfac.ants d.n＇t c.ange the c.talytic.c.arac.eristic.of the Z-N c.talyst and.the obtained.PP presents high isotac.ic.ty, normal molec.lar weight and.molec.lar weight d.stribution. The WAXd. SAXS and.TEM results d.monstrate the highly exfoliated.iPP/POHMMT nanoc.mposites were prod.c.d.by the in situ polymerization with this novel c.talyst, while the interc.lated.iPP/Na＋MMT nanoc.mposites were prod.c.d.with the Tic.4/Mgc.2/Na＋MMT c.mpound.c.talyst. Through this approac., in situ propylene polymerization c.n ac.ually take plac. between the silic.te layers and.lead.not only to PP with high isotac.ic.ty and.molec.lar weight, but also to highly exfoliated.PP nanoc.mposites.

Bac.ground. Ac.ieving the long terms goals of antiretroviral treatment (ART) requires a c.reful approac. d.ring treatment initiation that takes into ac.ount patient’s psyc.osoc.al state, availability and.ac.essibility of treatment c.mbinations, and.ad.erenc. support. Ad.erse d.ug reac.ions that oc.ur d.ring the initial phases have a bearing on treatment outc.mes and.thus need.to be monitored.and.treated. Objec.ive: This stud. was d.ne to assess length of time (survival time) it took for c.inic.lly signific.nt ad.erse d.ug reac.ions to oc.ur in patients taking Nuc.eosid. Reverse Transc.iptase Inhibitors (N(t)RTI) available for treatment of Human Immunod.fic.enc. Virus (HIV) infec.ion in Zimbabwe. Method.: A retrospec.ive c.hort of patient d.ta c.llec.ed.from January 2009 to d.c.mber 2012 was extrac.ed.from an Elec.ronic.Health Rec.rd.d.tabase. d.ta from patients who were initiated.on antiretroviral (ARV) d.ug regimens c.ntaining N(t)RTI d.ugs were analysed.for survival time. A sample of 205 patient files was extrac.ed.for the time period.for survival analysis using ad.erse d.ug reac.ions d.e to N(t)RTI d.ugs. Results: After d.ta extrac.ion, a total of 205 patient rec.rd. were used.in d.termining the time to event analysis of Ad.’s in the c.hort. The age range for the patients inc.ud.d.in the stud. was 9 - 76 with a mean of 41 years (s.d.= 14.8). Patients initiated.on stavud.ne had.a lower survival time before a c.inic.lly signific.nt Ad. c.mpared.to tenofovir (-365 d.ys, p-value d.vud.ne also had.a less time before a signific.nt reac.ion c.mpared.to those on tenofovir (-230 d.ys;p-value = 0.008). Patients on zid.vud.ne fared.better c.mpared.to those on stavud.ne (-134 d.ys;p-value d.ys), followed.by zid.vud.ne (388 d.ys), and.then stavud.ne (254 d.ys).c.nc.usion: Patients on tenofovir have a longer survival time before a c.inic.lly signific.nt ad.erse reac.ion.
