In this paper,high density polyethylene (HDPE)/poly(ethylene-co-butene) (PEB) blend (50/50 wt%) was prepared through solution blending and then compression molding,and subsequently examined by laser scanning confocal microscopy (LScM). The PEB used in this experiment was labeled with a small quantity of a fluorescein derivative to render fluorescence. The initial films showed uniform dye dis-tribution and no indication of phase separation within the resolution of optical microscopy. Sample films annealing at 140℃ followed by rapid cooling to room temperature showed obvious phase sepa-ration and bicontinuous structure. The present work indicates that by labeling one component with fluorescein derivative,LScM can efficiently perform in situ depth profiling of polymer blends.

BAcKGROUND Survival in patients with autoimmune liver disease overlap syndromes(AILDOS)compared to those with single autoimmune liver disease is *** To investigate the survival of patients with AILDOS and assess the accuracy of non-invasive serum models for predicting liver-related *** Patients with AILDOS were defined as either autoimmune hepatitis and primary biliary cholangitis overlap(AIH-PBc)or autoimmune hepatitis and primary sclerosing cholangitis overlap(AIH-PSc)and were identified from three tertiary centres for this cohort ***-related death or transplantation(liver-related mortality)was determined using a population-based data linkage *** scores for liver-related death were compared for accuracy[including liver outcome score(LOS),Hepascore,Mayo Score,model for end-stage liver disease(MELD)score and MELD incorporated with serum sodium(MELD-Na)score].RESULTS Twenty-two AILDOS patients were followed for a median of 3.1 years(range,0.35-7.7).Fourteen were female,the median age was 46.7 years(range,17.8 to 82.1)and median Hepascore was 1(range,0.07-1).At five years post enrolment,57%of patients remained free from liver-related mortality(74%AIH-PBc,27%AIH-PSc).There was no significant difference in survival between AIH-PBc and *** was a significant predictor of liver-related mortality(Pc(n=14)but not AIH-PSc(n=8).A LOS cut-point of 6 discriminated liver-related mortality in AIH-PBc patients(P=0.012,log-rank test,100%sensitivity,77.8%specificity)(Harrell's c-statistic 0.867).The MELD score,MELD-Na score and Mayo Score were not predictive of liver-related mortality in any *** Survival in the rare,AILDOS is *** current study supports the LOS as a predictor of liver-related mortality in AIH-PBc *** trials investigating predictors of survival in AILDOS are required.

Large sized power transformers are important parts of the power supply chain. These very critical networks of engineering assets are an essential base of a nation＇s energy resource infrastructure. This research identifies the key factors influencing transformer normal operating conditions and predicts the asset management lifespan. Engineering asset research has developed few lifespan forecasting methods combining real-time monitoring solutions for transformer maintenance and replacement. Utilizing the rich data source from a remote terminal unit （RTU） system for sensor-data driven analysis, this research develops an innovative real-time lifespan forecasting approach applying logistic regression based on the Weibull distribution. The methodology and the implementation prototype are verified using a data series from 161 kV transformers to evaluate the efficiency and accuracy for energy sector applications. The asset stakeholders and suppliers significantly benefit from the real-time power transformer lifespan evaluation for maintenance and replacement decision support.

Engineering and research teams often develop new products and technologies by referring to inventions described in patent databases. Efficient patent analysis builds R＆D knowledge, reduces new product development time, increases market success, and reduces potential patent infringement. Thus, it is beneficial to automatically and systematically extract information from patent documents in order to improve knowledge sharing and collaboration among R＆D team members. In this research, patents are summarized using a combined ontology based and TF-IDF concept clustering approach. The ontology captures the general knowledge and core meaning of patents in a given domain. Then, the proposed methodology extracts, clusters, and integrates the content of a patent to derive a summary and a cluster tree diagram of key terms. Patents from the International Patent classification （IPc） codes B25c, B25D, B25F （categories for power hand tools） and B24B, c09G and H011 （categories for chemical mechanical polishing） are used as case studies to evaluate the compression ratio, retention ratio, and classification accuracy of the summarization results. The evaluation uses statistics to represent the summary generation and its compression ratio, the ontology based keyword extraction retention ratio, and the summary classification accuracy. The results show that the ontology based approach yields about the same compression ratio as previous non-ontology based research but yields on average an 11% improvement for the retention ratio and a 14% improvement for classification accuracy.

A novel method for the simultaneous determination of 3-nitrotyrosine(NT) and 3-chlorotyrosine(cT) in human plasma has been developed based on direct analysis in real time–tandem mass spectrometry(DART–MS/MS). Analysis was performed in the positive ionization mode using multiple reaction monitoring(MRM) of the ion transitions at m/z 216.2/170.1 for cT, m/z 227.2/181.1 for NT and m/z 230.2/184.2 for the internal standard, d^3-NT. The assay was linear in the ranges 0.5–100 μg/m L for cT and 4–100 μg/m L for NT with corresponding limits of detection of 0.2 and 2 μg/m L. Intra- and inter-day precisions and accuracies were respectively cts were also evaluated. The method is potentially useful for high throughput analysis although sensitivity needs to be improved before it can be applied in clinical research.

Gangrenous cholecystitis(Gc) is a severe and potentially deadly complication of acute cholecystitis. We present a 83-year-old gentleman with a past medical history of type 2 diabetes mellitus with significant associated neuropathy, presenting to a community hospital in a major metropolitan area with 10 days nausea and vomiting and a benign abdominal exam. While the patient was admitted for hyperglycemia, he was subsequently found to have severe Gc requiring urgent surgical intervention.

This work explored possibilities of biodegradable magnesium alloy Mg-3Y preparation by two modern powder metallurgy techniques–spark plasma sintering(SPS)and selective laser melting(SLM).The powder material was consolidated by both methods utilising optimised parameters,which led to very low porosity(∼0.3%)in the SLM material and unmeasurably low porosity in the SPS *** main aim of the study was the thorough microstructure characterisation and interrelation between the microstructure and the functional properties,such as mechanical strength,deformability,and corrosion *** materials showed comparable strength of∼110 MPa in tension and compression and relatively good deformability of∼9%and∼21%for the SLM and SPS materials,*** corrosion resistance of the SPS material in 0.1 M Nacl solution was superior to the SLM one and comparable to the conventional extruded *** digital image correlation during loading and the cross-section analysis of the corrosion layers revealed that the residual porosity and large strained grains have the dominant negative effect on the functional properties of the SLM *** the other hand,one of the primary outcomes of this study is that the SPS consolidation method is very effective in the preparation of the W3 biodegradable alloy,resulting in material with convenient mechanical and degradation properties that might find practical applications.

A global enterprise must continuously improve the efficiency of logistic operations between supply chain collaborators. Integrating logistic services, resources, and necessary information flows in the supply chain to ensure efficiency and efficacy is critically important to these companies. Global logistic service companies face challenges from their clients to provide logistic services that are cost effective, accurate, and seamlessly integrate material, information and cash flows. In this research, an improved framework for one-stop logistic services is systematically designed, analyzed, and evaluated. The one-stop logistic service framework, defmed in four models, is developed to provide enterprises with integrated and comprehensive services within the global supply chain context. The levels of service importance are assessed using a four categories questionnaire. This research provides a case study of the implementation of one-stop logistic services in the distribution industry and demonstrates the framework operating under different demand conditions. Finally, system dynamics causal evaluation is used to evaluate the advantages of the logistic service framework.

Backgrounds ST-elevation myocardial infarction （STEMI） guidelines recommend reperfusion by primary percutaneous coronary in- tervention （PcI） ≤ 90 min from time of first medical contact （FMc）. This strategy is challenging in rural areas lacking a nearby PcI-capable hospital. Recommended reperfusion times can be achieved for STEMI patients presenting in rural areas without a nearby PcI-capable hospital by ground transportation to a central PcI-capable hospital by use of protocol-driven emergency medical service （EMS） STEMI field triage protocol. Methods Sixty STEMI patients directly transported by EMS from three rural counties （Nassau, camden and charlton counties） within a 50-mile radius of University of Florida Health-Jacksonville （UFHJ） from 01/01/2009 to 12/31/2013 were identified from its PcI registry. The STEMI field triage protocol incorporated three elements：（1） a cooperative agreement between each of the rural emergency medical service （EMS） agency and UFHJ; （2） performance of a pre-hospital EcG to facilitate STEMI identification and laboratory activation; and （3） direct transfer by ground transportation to the UFHJ cardiac catheterization laboratory. FMc-to-device （FMc2D）, door-to-device （D2D）, and transit times, the day of week, time of day, and EMS shift times were recorded, and odds ratio （OR） of achieving FMc2D times was calculated. Results FMc2D times were shorter for in-state STEMIs （81 ± 17 vs. 87± 19 min）, but D2D times were similar （37 ± 18 vs. 39 ± 21 min）. FMc2D 〈 90 min were achieved in 82.7% in-state STEMIs compared to 52.2% for out-of-state STEMIs （OR = 4.4, 95% cI： 1.24-15.57; P = 0.018）. FMc2D times were homogenous after adjusting for weekday vs. weekend, EMS shift times. Nine patients did not meet FMc2D ≤ 90 min. Six were within 10 min of target; all patient achieved FMc2D 〈 120 min. conclusions Guideline-compliant FMc2D ≤90 min is achievable for rural STEMI patients within a 50 mile radius of a PcI-capable hospital by use of protocol-driv
