Capsosiphon fulvescens suppresses LPS-stimulated inflammatory responses by suppressing TLR4/NF-κB activation in RAW264.7 murine macrophages

Dielectrophoretic assembly of semiconducting single-walled carbon nanotube transistor

A novel burning technique for making a semiconducting single-walled carbon nanotubes （SWNTs） transistor assembled by the dielectrophoretic force was suggested. The fabrication process consisted of two steps. First, to align and attach a bundle of SWNTs between the source and drain, the alternating （AC） voltage was applied to the electrodes. When a bundle of SWNTs was connected between two electrodes, some of metallic nanotubes and semi-conducing nanotubes existed together. The second step is to burn the metallic SWNTS by applying the voltage between two electrodes. With increasing the voltage, more current flowed through the metallic SWNTs, thus, the metallic SWNTs burnt earlier than the semiconducting one. This technique enables to obtain only semi-conducting SWNTs connection in the transistor. Through the 1--V characteristic graph, the moment of metallic SWNTs burning and the characteristic of semi-conducing nanotubes were verified.

High-entropy ceramics exhibit novel intrinsic properties. Hence, they have been explored for a wide range of applications ranging from thermal insulation and energy storage to advanced optical components. Recently, the semiconductor industry has faced a demand for higher-performance chips, necessitating higher aspect ratios in wafer fabrication and further miniaturization of linewidths. Therefore, novel materials with high plasma etching resistance and minimal contaminant generation are needed. The plasma-etching resistance displayed by high-entropy ceramics can be an innovative solution to this emerging challenge. In this study, we successfully fabricated single-phase high-entropy sesquioxide ceramics with high optical transparency, dense microstructure, and minimal residual pores. A structural analysis of the fabricated samples revealed a single-phase structure with excellent phase homogeneity. An evaluation of the plasma-etching resistance of high-entropy ceramics revealed for the first time a low etching rate of 8 nm/h compared with that of conventional plasma-resistant materials. These comprehensive characterizations of high-entropy ceramics indicate that they are promising candidates for significantly improving the production yield of semiconductors and for a wide range of potential applications, such as next-generation active optical ceramics.

On-Policy and Off-Policy Value Iteration Algorithms for Stochastic Zero-Sum Dynamic Games

This paper considers the value iteration algorithms of stochastic zero-sum linear quadratic games with unkown dynamics. On-policy and off-policy learning algorithms are developed to solve the stochastic zero-sum games, where the system dynamics is not required. By analyzing the value function iterations, the convergence of the model-based algorithm is shown. The equivalence of several types of value iteration algorithms is established. The effectiveness of model-free algorithms is demonstrated by a numerical example.

Etching characteristics and surface modification of InGaSnO thin films under Cl_(2)/Ar plasma

Most organic electrode materials(OEMs)for rechargeable batteries employ n-type redox centers,whose redox potentials are intrinsically limited<3.0 V versus Li^(+)/***,p-type materials possessing high redox potentials experience low specific capacities because they are capable of only a single redox reaction within the stable electrochemical window of typical ***,we report 5,11-diethyl-5,11-dihydroindolo[3,2-b]carbazole(DEICZ)as a novel p-type OEM,exhibiting stable plateaus at high discharge potentials of 3.44 and 4.09 V versus Li^(+)/***,the second redox potential of DEICZ is within the stable electrochemical *** mechanism of the double redox reaction is investigated using both theoretical calculations and experimental measurements,including density functional theory calculations,ex situ electron spin resonance,and X-ray photoelectron ***,hybridization with single-walled carbon nanotubes(SWCNT)improves the cycle stability and rate performance of DEICZ owing to theπ-πinteractions between the SWCNT and co-planar molecular structure of DEICZ,preventing the dissolution of active materials into the *** DEICZ/SWCNT composite electrode maintains 70.4%of its initial specific capacity at 1-C rate and also exhibits high-rate capability,even performing well at 100-C ***,we demonstrate its potential for flexible batteries after applying 1000 bending stresses to the composite electrode.

Preparation and characterization of SMA/S-POSS hybrid membranes for direct methanol fuel cell applications

A novel sulfonated polyhedral oligomeric silsesquioxane(S-POSS) monomer was synthesized successfully in this article. S-POSS acted as a donor of sulfonic acid group and reacted with poly(styrene-co-maleic anhydride) (SMA). FT-IR spectroscopy confirmed the modification through introduction of peaks characteristic of ester linkages and carboxylic groups. The SMA/S-POSS hybrid membranes were fabricated from different S-POSS contents. The proton conductivity and methanol permeability of the hybrid membranes were studied with changing S-POSS content from 5wt.% to 30wt.%. It was found that the proton conductivity and the methanol permeability were dependent on the S-POSS content. Both of proton conductivity and methanol permeability properties improve with increasing S-POSS content. The proton conductivities of the hybrid membranes are in the range of 10-3-10-2 S·cm-1, and the range of methanol permeabilities was between 10-8 and 10-7 cm2·s-1. The membranes show good thermal properties characterized by thermogravimetric analysis (TGA).

Bi-directional and concurrent proof of ownership for stronger storage services with de-duplication

In storage service, data de-duplication is a specialized technique for eliminating duplicate copies of repeating data in storage. Especially, client-side de-duplication has more merits than server-side deduplication since they can improve both the space efficiency and the communication bandwidth. For secure client-side de-duplication, we need a way to prove the ownership of a file to be stored. In the upload step,the server should verify the ownership of a client to give the right of the file without uploading it. On the contrary, the client also want to verify the retrievability for the file since he will delete it from his storage after protocol execution. Existing proof of ownership techniques have been designed for server's need. In this paper, we first point out that we need the second property in client's view point, and give a very simple and practical solution which can support the server and the client to prove that they have the same file. We first describe a generic strategy which can help us to construction a bi-directional and concurrent proof of ownership technique from an ordinary proof of ownership technique, and then give an efficient hash-based scheme with security proof in the random oracle model.
