Potassium ion hybrid capacitors(PIHC)have promising applications in medium and large-scale energy storage systems due to their high energy/power density,abundant potassium resource and low cost.However,the slow kinetics of battery-type anodes originating from the large-size K+results in a mismatch between the two electrodes,rendering the modest energy density of PIHC.Herein,we first develop an electrospinning strategy to successfully synthesize fibrous precursor by using the HNO_(3)pre-oxidized low-softening-point coal pitch as the low-cost raw material.With further carbonization or KOH activation,the two types of carbon nanofibers(CNF)are fabricated as anode and cathode materials,respectively,towards the dual-carbon PIHC devices.Thanks to its threedimensional interconnected porous conducting network and large layer spacing,the resulted CNF anode material is endowed with high reversible capacities,excellent rate and long cycle stability.Meanwhile,the activated CNF cathode with a large surface area of 2169 m^(2)·g^(-1)exhibits excellent capacitive performance.A PIHC constructed with the two fibrous electrodes delivers an energy density of110.0 Wh·kg^(-1)at 200.0 W kg^(-1),along with a capacitance retention of 83.5%after 10,000 cycles at 1.0 A·g^(-1).The contribution here provides a cost-efficiency avenue and platform for advanced dual-carbon PIHC.

Developing electrochemical energy storage devices with high energy and power densities,long cycling life,as well as low cost is of great significance.Hybrid metal-ion capacitors(MICs),commonly consisting of high energy battery-type anodes and high power capacitor-type cathodes,have become a trade-off between batteries and supercapacitors.Tremendous efforts have been devoted to searching for high-performance electrode materials due to poor rate capability of anodes,low capacity of cathodes,and interior sluggish kinetic match.Carbon materials with large surface area,good electrical conductivity and stability have been considered to be ideal candidates for electrodes of MICs.In this review,the advanced carbon materials directly as cathodes and anodes of MICs are systematically summarized.Then,the key structural/chemical factors including the structure engineering,porous characteristics,and heteroatom incorporation for improving electrochemical performance of carbon materials are highlighted.Additionally,the challenges and opportunities for future research on carbon materials in MICs are also proposed.

With the continuous development of two-dimensional (2D) transition metal carbides and nitrides(collectively referred to as MXene).Nowadays,more than 70 MXene materials have been discovered,and the number is still increasing.Among them,the V_(2)CT_(x) MXene has attracted considerable attentions due to its outstanding physical and chemical properties.In this review,we mainly discussed the emerging V_(2)CT_(x) MXene and its derivative systems in various energy storage devices.Firstly,an introduction of the V-based MXene and its derivatives along with their synthetic methodologies is provided,then we summarize their applications in specific energy storage devices,such as metal (Li,Na,K,Mg,Zn and Al) ion batteries,lithium-sulfur batteries,supercapacitors and metal-ion capacitors.Finally,the main challenges and future perspectives existing in V-based MXene and its derivatives are reasonably put forward.

Nowadays,lithium-ion capacitors(LICs) have become a type of important electrochemical energy storage devices due to their high power and long cycle life characteristics with fast response time.As one of the essential components of LICs,the electrolytes not only provide the anions and cations required during charge and discharge processes,but also supply the liquid environment for ions to migrate between anodes and cathodes in LIC cells.It is well accepted that propylene carbonate(PC) cannot be used as a single solvent for Li-ion electrolyte due to the failure to form stable SEI film on graphite surface.In this work,the compatibility of PC-based electrolyte with commercial soft carbon anode and activated carbon cathode has been validated by using the laminated pouch LIC cells.The effects of additives on the electrochemical properties of PC-based LICs have been systematically investigated.Ethylene sulfite(ES) was proved to be an effective additive to promote capacity retention at high C-rate,which is superior to vinylene carbonate and fluoroethylene carbonate.The addition of 5 wt% ES plays an important role in reducing internal resistance,as well as improving electrochemical stability and low-temperature performances.This study is expected to be beneficial to explore robust electrolyte/additive combinations for LICs to reduce the internal resistance and to improve the lowtemperature performances.

Recently,CoCO3 has attracted enormous attention as anodes for lithium-ion batteries(LIBs),benefiting from its high theoretical capacity and simple synthesis.However,the modest electronic conductivity and structural instability over cycling hinder its wider applications.To well address the intrinsic issues,we explored a precipitantfree hydrothermal methodology for mass production of spindle-like CoCO3/reduced graphene oxide(S-CoCO3/rGO)toward advanced LIBs as a hybrid anode.The dimethylformamide plays a significant role of"two birds(i.e.,solvent and precipitant)with one stone"in the formation of the S-CoCO3/rGO,greatly improving its practical applicability.The purposeful introduction of rGO nanosheets as a two-dimensional flexible conductive network enhances the conductivity and stability of the S-CoCO3.It is the structural and compositional merits for LIBs that endow the S-CoCO3/rGO with remarkable lithium-storage performance in terms of enhanced interfacial storage capacity,high-rate reversible capacities(803 mAh·g-1 at 2.0 A·g-1)and long-duration capacity retention of 82.1%over 2000 consecutive cycles at 2.0 A·g-1.More significantly,the simple yet efficient avenue here promises enormous commercial prospect of the S-CoCO3/rGO in next-generation LIBs.

Messenger RNA(mRNA)translation consists of initiation,elongation,termination,and ribosome recycling,carried out by the translation machinery,primarily including tRNAs,ribosomes,and translation factors(TrFs).Translational regulators transduce signals of growth and development,as well as biotic and abiotic stresses,to the translation machinery,where global or selective translational control occurs to modulate mRNA translation efficiency(TrE).As the basis of translational control,the translation machinery directly determines the quality and quantity of newly synthesized peptides and,ultimately,the cellular adaption.Thus,regulating the availability of diverse machinery components is reviewed as the central strategy of translational control.We provide classical signaling pathways(e.g.,integrated stress responses)and cellular behaviors(e.g.,liquideliquid phase separation)to exemplify this strategy within different physiological contexts,particularly during hostemicrobe interactions.With new technologies developed,further understanding this strategy will speed up translational medicine and translational agriculture.

Arsenic(As)speciation transformation in acid mine drainage(AMD)is comprehensively affected by biological and abiotic factors,such as microbially mediated Fe/S redox reactions and changes in environmental conditions(pH and oxidation-reduction potential).However,their combined impacts on arsenic speciation transformation remain poorly studied.Therefore,we explored arsenic transformation and immobilization during pyrite dissolution mediated by AMD enrichment culture under different acidic pH conditions.The results for incubation and mineralogical transformation of solid residues show that in the presence of AMD enrichment culture,pH 2.0,2.5,and 3.0 are more conducive to the formation of jarosites and ferric arsenate,which could immobilize high quantities of dissolved arsenic by adsorption and coprecipitation.The pH conditions significantly affect the initial adsorption of microbial cells to the minerals and the evolution of microbial community structure,further infuencing the biodissolution of pyrite and the release and oxidation process of Fe/S.The results of Fe/S/As speciation transformation of the solid residues show that the transformation of Fe,S,and As in solution is mainly regulated by pH and potential values,which imposed significantly different effects on the formation of secondary minerals and thus arsenic oxidation and immobilization.The above results indicated that arsenic transformation is closely related to the Fe/S oxidation associated with pyrite bio-oxidation,and this correlation is critically regulated by the pH conditions of the system.

BACKGROUND Studies have demonstrated the influence of immunity and inflammation on the development of tumors.Although single biomarkers of immunity and inflam-mation have been shown to be clinically predictive,the use of biomarkers integrating both to predict prognosis in patients with gastric cancer remains to be investigated.AIM To investigate the prognostic and clinical significance of inflammatory biomarkers and lymphocytes in patients undergoing surgical treatment for gastric cancer.METHODS Univariate COX regression analysis was performed to identify potential prognostic factors for patients with gastric cancer undergoing surgical treatment.Least absolute shrinkage and selection operator-COX(LASSO-COX)regression analysis was performed to integrate these factors and formulate a new prognostic immunoinflammatory index(PII).The correlation between PII and clinical charac-teristics was statistically analyzed.Nomograms incorporating the PII score were devised and validated based on the time-dependent area under the curve and decision curve analysis.RESULTS Patients exhibiting elevated neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio,platelet-to-lymphocyte ratio,and systemic immune inflammatory index displayed inferior progression-free survival(PFS)and overall survival(OS).Conversely,low levels of CD3(+),CD3(+)CD8(+),CD4(+)CD8(+),and CD3(+)CD16(+)CD56(+)T lymphocytes were associated with improved PFS and OS,while high CD19(+)T lymphocyte levels were linked to worse PFS and OS.The PII score demonstrated associations with tumor characteristics(primary tumor site and tumor size),establishing itself as an independent prognostic factor for both PFS and OS.Time-dependent area under the curve and decision curve analysis affirmed the effectiveness of the PII-based nomogram as a robust prognostic predictive model.CONCLUSION PII may be a reliable predictor of prognosis in patients with gastric cancer undergoing surgical treatment,and it offers insights into cancer-related immune-inflammatory responses,with potential significance in clinical

Posttranslational modifications increase the complexity and functional diversity of proteins in response to complex external stimuli and internal changes.Among these,protein lipidations which refer to lipid attachment to proteins are prominent,which primarily encompassing five types including S-palmitoylation,N-myristoylation,S-prenylation,glycosylphosphatidylinositol(GPl)anchor and cholesterylation.Lipid attachment to proteins plays an essential role in the regulation of protein trafficking,localisation,stability,conformation,interactions and signal transduction by enhancing hydrophobicity.Accumulating evidence from genetic,structural,and biomedical studies has consistently shown that protein lipidation is pivotal in the regulation of broad physiological functions and is inextricably linked to a variety of diseases.Decades of dedicated research have driven the development of a wide range of drugs targeting protein lipidation,and several agents have been developed and tested in preclinical and clinical studies,some of which,such as asciminib and lonafarnib are FDA-approved for therapeutic use,indicating that targeting protein lipidations represents a promising therapeutic strategy.Here,we comprehensively review the known regulatory enzymes and catalytic mechanisms of various protein lipidation types,outline the impact of protein lipidations on physiology and disease,and highlight potential therapeutic targets and clinical research progress,aiming to provide a comprehensive reference for future protein lipidation research.
