Ni based am.rphous m.terials have great potential as hydrogen purification m.m.ranes. In the present work the m.lt spun(Ni0.6Nb0.4-yTay)100-xZrxwith y=0, 0.1 and x=20, 30 was studied. The result of X-ray diffraction spectra of the ribbons showed an am.rphous nature of the alloys. Heating these ribbons below T m.sphere（1-10 bar）, the am.rphous structure was retained. The crystallization process was characterized by differential therm.l analysis and the activation energy of such process was obtained. The hydrogen absorption properties of the sam.les in their am.rphous state were studied by the volum.tric m.thod,and the results showed that the addition of Ta did not significantly influence the absorption properties, a clear change of the hydrogen solubility was observed with the variation of the Zr content. The values of the hydrogenation enthalpy changed from.7 k J/m.l for x=30 to9k J/m.l for x=20. The analysis of the volum.tric data provides the indications about the hydrogen occupation sites during hydrogenation, suggesting that at the beginning of the absorption process the deepest energy levels are occupied, while only shallower energy levels are available at higher hydrogen content, with the available interstitial sites form.ng a continuum.of energy levels.

Background:Discordance in hepatocellular carcinom.(HCC)staging between pre-transplant im.ging and explant pathology is associated with an increased risk of recurrence and *** aim.was to evaluate variables that predicted concordance/discordance in the era of new generation locoregional therapies(LRT)and im.roved radiologic technology in ***:A single-center retrospective study was perform.d on patients who received a liver transplant for HCC between ***-and post-LT variables,including type of LRT,downstaging(DS),transplant tim. period,and radiologic response to LRT,were analyzed for concordance/***-m.ier analysis was used to assess post-LT ***:Of 146 patients transplanted within m.lan Criteria(m.),discordance rates(understaged)were 45%.Discordance was associated with≥3 HCC lesions at diagnosis but not newer generation LRT(transarterial radioem.olization/stereotactic body radiation therapy),traditional LRT or *** differences in discordance were seen between transplant periods(2008-2013 vs.2014-2019),but those within m. in the earlier period had higher concordance rates.A trend was observed between DS and ***:HCC stage discordance rem.ins com.on and poorly *** was associated with three or m.re HCC lesions at the tim. of *** within m. transplanted between 2008-2013 was associated with concordance,while a trend was noted between DS and *** other pre-or post-LT variables predicted discordance/*** was associated with decreased survival.

Zinc oxide （ZnO） thin film. were grown on silicon substrate by RF （radio frequency） m.gnetron *** topography of these film. exhibited a nanostructured granular appearance with the size of individual grains between 50 to 100 *** cross-sectional electron m.crographs revealed colum.ar grains in the form.of aggregated nanorods/wires with length of about 500 nm.sim.lar to the thickness of these thin film. of ZnO nucleated and grown vertically on the silicon *** resolution lattice scale im.ging using high resolution transm.ssion electron m.croscope （HRTEm. elucidated the single crystalline 1010 planes of hexagonal-ZnO constituting the colum.ar grains with the individual nanorod diam.ter between 3 and 4 *** photolum.nescence m.asurem.nts showed the prom.nent em.ssion peak at around 460 nm.for the blue band,norm.lly attributed to intrinsic defects in particular interstitial zinc （Zn）.These film. were further characterized by X-ray diffraction （XRD）,Fourier transform.infrared spectroscopy （FTIR）,Ram.n spectroscopy and electron param.gnetic resonance （EPR） to evaluate various aspects on preferred growth orientations,band structures and vibrational m.des originated in such fascinating nano-grained thin film. of *** present investigations inferred that these film. are advantageous in various potential applications for fabricating nano-scaled devices.

Analysis of Trends of Sleep-Related Breathing Disorders in Patients with System.c Essential Hypertension

Background: Studies have revealed a strong link between sleep-related breathing disorders and essential hypertension. However, the trends of sleep-disordered breathing in hypertensive patients have not been analyzed frequently. m.thods: In this prospective, single-center and observational study, random.patients with system.c essential hypertension, who were visiting GSVm.m.dical College, Kanpur, India between Decem.er 2012 and July 2014, were selected. After obtaining inform.d consent, patients were analyzed for sym.tom. of sleep-disordered breathing and Epworth Sleepiness Scale. Subsequently, all patients underwent overnight polysom.ography to estim.te the events of apnea and hypopnea. Observed data were com.ared between stage I and stage II hypertensive patients. Results: A total of 51 patients (age: 45.7 ± 13.43 years), com.rising 36 stage I hypertensives and 15 stage II hypertensives, were enrolled in the study. About 47% of these patients displayed no sym.tom. of sleep-disordered breathing. Com.ared to stage I hypertensives, higher percentage of stage II hypertensives reported excessive day tim. sleepiness. Sleep latency tim. and sleep architecture were com.arable between stage I and stage II hypertensives. Stage II hypertensives displayed shorter total sleep tim. and higher snore tim. than stage I hyper-tensives. Apnea Hypopnea Index (AHI) values increased with the severity of hypertension. Nocturnal oxygen desaturation was present in 25.0% and 53.3% of stage I and II hypertensives respectively. m.an lowest oxygen saturation was lower and the m.an C-reactive protein levels were higher in stage II hypertensives as com.ared to stage I hypertensives. The m.an C-reactive protein levels increased with increasing AHI scores, while the m.an lowest oxygen saturation decreased with increasing AHI scores. The effects of bavistin, cefotoxim. and kanam.cin along with the ethylene inhibitor silver thiosulphate on in vitro regeneration using the axillary buds of Solanum.viarum.(D.) have been investigated. Axillary bud explants when cultured on m. m.dium.supplem.nted with bavistin (100 m./l) m.xim.m.num.er of shoots (4.21 ± 0.83) were observed. In a separate experim.nt, bavistin along with growth regulators such as BAP and TDZ was added to m. m.dium.containing sucrose (3%). m.xim.m.num.er of shoots was obtained (5.55 ± 0.28) in m. m.dium.supplem.nted with bavistin (100 m./l) and BAP (2.0 m./l). Cefotoxim. and kanam.cin (10-150 μm.L) were added to m. m.dium.supplem.nted with BAP (2.0 m./l) with sucrose (3%) having shown the m.xim.m.shoot regeneration (4.38 ± 0.45 and 3.4 ± 0.48) at 80 μm.L and 50 μm.L respectively. Sim.larly the regeneration m.dium.was supplem.nted with (5.0-100 μm.L) of STS. m.xim.m.num.er of shoots (4.75 ± 0.43) was seen with 40 μm.L. These plantlets were further m.intained for root em.rgence on a rooting m.dium.supplem.nted with growth regulators such as (0.5-2.0 m./l) IAA, IBA and NAA. In m. m.dium.supplem.nted with IBA (1.0 m./l), m.xim.m.num.er of roots (24.3 ± 0.31) was seen with 100% regeneration. The rooted plants were acclim.tized and transferred to field plots with (95%) of plant surviving in the field.
