MicroRNA-365 Knockdown Prevents Ischemic Neuronal Injury by Activating Oxidation Resistance 1-Mediated Antioxidant Signals

Micro RNA-365(mi R-365) is upregulated in the ischemic brain and is involved in oxidative damage in the diabetic rat. However, it is unclear whether mi R-365 regulates oxidative stress(OS)-mediated neuronal damage after ischemia. Here, we used a transient middle cerebral artery occlusion model in rats and the hydrogen peroxide-induced OS model in primary cultured neurons to assess the roles of mi R-365 in neuronal damage. We found that mi R-365 exacerbated ischemic brain injury and OS-induced neuronal damage and was associated with a reduced expression of OXR1(Oxidation Resistance 1). In contrast, mi R-365 antagomir alleviated both the brain injury and OXR1 reduction. Luciferase assays indicated that mi R-365 inhibited OXR1 expression by directly targeting the 30-untranslated region of Oxr1. Furthermore, knockdown of OXR1 abolished the neuroprotective and antioxidant effects of the mi R-365 antagomir. Our results suggest that mi R-365 upregulationincreases oxidative injury by inhibiting OXR1 expression,while its downregulation protects neurons from oxidative death by enhancing OXR1-mediated antioxidant signals.

Twisted penta-Carbazole/Benzophenone Hybrid Compound as Multifunctional Organic Host, Dopant or Non-doped Emitter for Highly Efficient Solution-Processed Delayed Fluorescence OLEDs

A new multi-functional penta-carbazole/benzophenone hybrid compound 5CzBP was designed and synthesized through a simple one-step catalyst-free C--N coupling reaction by using 2,3,4,5,6-pentafluorobenzophenone and carbazole as starting materials. 5CzBP is very soluble in tetrahydro- furan （THF）, which brings an environmentally friendly device fabrication for solution-processed OLEDs instead of most widely used chlorinated solvents when 5CzBP is employed as the bulk-phase of organic host or non-doped emitter in the emissive layer. 5CzBP exhibits thermally activated delayed fluo- rescence （TADF） characteristic with relatively high triplet energy of 2.60 eV and a low bEsT of 0.01 eV. By using the new TADF material as organic host for another green TADF emitter, maximum external quantum efficiency （EQE） of 12.5% has been achieved in simple solution-processed OLED device. Besides, a maximum EQE of 8.9% and 5.7% was further obtained in TADF devices based on 5CzBP as dopant and non-doped emitter, respectively. The simultane- ously acting as efficient TADF host and non-doped TADF emitter provides the potential guidance of the future simple single-layer two-color white OLEDs based on low-cost pure organic TADF materials.

Tourism resource assessment and spatial analysis of wine tourism development： a case study of the eastern foothills of China＇s Helan Mountains

The reasonable development and utilization of mountainous regions closely relates to local economic development and ecological security. The wine production region in the eastern foothills of the Helan Mountains in Ningxia, Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, with its excellent terroir, is emerging as one of China's three major geographical attractions. Based on surveys of tourism resources and spatial analysis for this wine producing region, we propose a highly representative and practicable path for wine tourism development. Based on China's national standard in Classification, Investigation and Evaluation of Tourism Resources(GB/T 18972-2003), which recommended the types and grades of tourism resources in one area, we conduct an analysis of resource characteristics and the current state of development. Using Arc GIS software, spatialautocorrelation analysis, average nearest neighbor analysis, as well as clustering and outlier analysis, we are able to derive the spatial distribution characteristics of tourism resources. Our survey showed that tourism resources in this area are relatively abundant and have good quality and clear combination advantages. Nonetheless, there are resources shortage for wine tourism and poor integration of wine production with the tourism industry. Regarding the spatial distribution of resources, we revealed the current states of and issues surrounding regions with concentrated resources, as well as characteristics of this clustering. Finally, we proposed a development path for wine tourism in this region based on the five dimensions of management mode, industrial path, product development, spatial optimization, and market development.

Some New Features of Linear Theory for Describing Non-linear Diffusion

The non-linear flux equation, the non-linear Fokker-Planck equation （or Smoluchowski equation）, and the non-linear Langiven equation are the basic equations for describing particle diffusion in non-ideal system subjected to time-dependent external fields. Nevertheless, the exact solution of those equations is still a challenge because of their inherent complexity of the non-linear mathematics. Li et al. found that, based on the defined apparent variables, the nonlinear Fokker-Planck equation and the non-linear flux equation could be transformed to linear forms under the condition of strong friction limit or loeal equilibrium assumption. In this paper, some new features of the theory were found：（i） The linear flux equation for describing non-linear diffusion can be obtained from the irreversible thermodynamic theory; （ii） The linear non-steady state diffusion equation for describing non-linear diffusion of the non-steady state, which was described by the non-linear Fokker-Planek equation, can be derived more consistently from the microscopic molecular statistical theory; （iii） In the theory, the non-linear Langiven equation also bears a linear form; （iv） For some special cases, e.g. diffusion in a periodic total potential system, the local equilibrium assumption or the strong friction limit is not required in establishing the linear theory for describing non-linear diffusion, so the linear theory may be important in the study of Brown motor.

Analysis of three types of resistance gene analogs in Pm U region from Triticum urartu

Resistance gene analog(RGA) screening of mapped disease-resistant genes not only helps to clone these genes but also helps to develop efficient molecular markers for resistance breeding. The present study focused on the PmU region located on chromosome 7 Au L of Triticum urartu, and recently, a nucleotide binding site(NBS)-encoding gene, Pm60, was cloned from the same chromosome arm. In this research, NBS, protein kinase(PK), and ATP-binding cassette(ABC), the three disease resistance-related gene families, were analyzed within PmU region by using informatics tools, and an expression experiment was conducted to verify their functions in vivo. Comparative genomic analysis revealed that 126 RGAs were included on chromosome 7 Au L, and 30 of the RGAs as well as Pm60 were found in the Pm U region. Transcriptome database analysis of T. urartu revealed 14 PmU-RGAs with expression data, and three PmU-NBSs exhibited significant changes in expression after inoculation with Blumeria graminis f. sp. tritici(Bgt); TRIUR314879 was up-regulated, while TRIUR300450 and TRIUR306270 were down-regulated. Cluster analysis showed that these three PmU-NBSs were clustered far from the cloned wheat resistance genes. Then, qRT-PCR was performed to investigate the expression of 14 PmU-RGAs and Pm60 after inoculation with Bgt race E09; the results showed that Pm60 was specifically expressed in UR206 which carrying PmU, but not in susceptible UR203; while TRIUR314879 was significantly up-regulated and TRIUR300450 was downregulated in UR206 after inoculation. These results indicated that PmU is Pm60, and TRIUR314879 and TRIUR300450 may also be involved in the defense against Bgt.

Prevalence of depressive and anxiety disorders in Chinese gastroenterological outpatients

AIM:To investigate the prevalence and physicians' detection rate of depressive and anxiety disorders in gastrointestinal(GI)outpatients across China. METHODS:A hospital-based cross-sectional survey was conducted in the GI outpatient departments of 13 general hospitals.A total of 1995 GI outpatients were recruited and screened with the Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale(HADS).The physicians of the GI departments performed routine clinical diagnosis and management without knowing the HADS score *** with HADS scores≥8 were subsequently interviewed by psychiatrists using the Mini International Neuropsy-chiatric Interview(MINI)to make further diagnoses. RESULTS:There were 1059 patients with HADS score ≥8 and 674(63.64%)of them undertook the MINI interview by *** on the criteria of Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (4th edition),the adjusted current prevalence for depressive disorders,anxiety disorders,and comorbidity of both disorders in the GI outpatients was 14.39%, 9.42%and 4.66%,*** of depressive disorders with suicidal problems[suicide attempt or suicide-related ideation prior or current;module C (suicide)of MINI score≥1]was 5.84%in women and 1.64%in *** GI physicians'detection rate of depressive and anxiety disorders accounted for 4.14%. CONCLUSION:While the prevalence of depressive and anxiety disorders is high in Chinese GI outpatients, the detection rate of depressive and anxiety disorders by physicians is low.

Enhanced ionic conductivity in LAGP/LATP composite electrolyte

Nasicon materials （sodium superionic conductors） such as Li1.5A10.5Ge1.5（PO4）3 （LAGP） and Li1.4Al0.4Til.6（PO4）3 （LATP） have been considered as important solid electrolytes due to their high ionic conductivity and chemical stability. Compared to LAGP, LATP has higher bulk conductivity around 10^-3 S/cm at room temperature; however, the apparent grain boundary conductivity is almost two orders of magnitude lower than the bulk, while LAGP has similar bulk and grain boundary conductivity around the order of 10-4 S/cm. To make full use of the advantages of the two electrolytes, pure phase Li1.5A10.5Ge1.5（PO4）3 and Li1.4A10.4Ti1.6（PO4）3 were synthesized through solid state reaction, a series of composite electrolytes consisting of LAGP and LATP with different weight ratios were designed. XRD and variable temperature AC impedance spectra were carried out to clarify the crystal structure and the ion transport properties of the composite electrolytes. The results indicate that the composite electrolyte with the LATP/LAGP weight ratio of 80：20 achieved the highest bulk conductivity which shall be due to the formation of solid solution phase Li1.42Alo.42Geo.3Ti1 .28（PO4）3, while the highest grain boundary conductivity appeared at the LATP/LAGP weight ratio of 20：80 which may be due to the excellent interfacial phase between Li1＋xAlxGeyTi2-x-y（PO4）3/LATE All the composite electrolytes demonstrated higher total conductivity than the pure LAGP and LATE which highlights the importance of heterogeneous interface on regulating the ion transport properties.
