AIM:To determine the dry eye(DE)rate and its relationship with disease stage in patients with primary hypertension.METHODS:A cross-sectional study included 432 patients with primary hypertension(with an equal number of patients in each group:144 in stage Ⅰ,Ⅱ,and Ⅲ hypertension)and 144 healthy subjects as a control group.The Ocular Surface Disease Index(OSDI)and Schirmer Ⅰ test without anesthetics were conducted on all 576 subjects.Subjects with OSDI scoreshan in the control group(41.7%versus 18.8%;Phan those without DE,P<0.001.Advanced age,a long duration of hypertension,diabetes mellitus,elevated plasma creatinine,and CRP-hs levels were independent factors associated with DE in primary hypertension patients,P<0.001.CONCLUSION:DE is a common disorder associated with advanced age,a long duration of hypertension,diabetes mellitus,elevated plasma CRP-hs,and creatinine levels in patients with primary hypertension.

Environmental pollution,such as water contamination,is a critical issue that must be absolutely addressed.Here,three different morphologies of tungsten-based photocatalysts(WO_(3)nanorods,WO_(3)/WS_(2)nanobricks,WO_(3)/WS_(2)nanorods)are made using a simple hydrothermal method by changing the solvents(H_(2)O,DMF,aqueous HCl solution).The as-prepared nanocatalysts have excellent thermal stability,large porosity,and high hydrophilicity.The results show all materials have good photocatalytic activity in aqueous media,with WO_(3)/WS_(2)nanorods(NRs)having the best activity in the photodegradation of bisphenol A(BPA)under visible-light irradiation.This may originate from increased migration of charge carriers and effective prevention of electron–hole recombination in WO_(3)/WS_(2)NRs,whereby this photocatalyst is able to generate more reactive·OH and·O_(2)^(–)species,leading to greater photocatalytic activity.About 99.6% of BPA is photodegraded within 60 min when using 1.5 g/L WO_(3)/WS_(2)NRs and 5.0 mg/L BPA at pH 7.0.Additionally,the optimal conditions(pH,catalyst dosage,initial BPA concentration)for WO_(3)/WS_(2)NRs are also elaborately investigated.These rod-like heterostructures are expressed as potential catalysts with excellent photostability,efficient reusability,and highly active effectivity in different types of water.In particular,the removal efficiency of BPA by WO_(3)/WS_(2)NRs reduces by only 1.5% after five recycling runs and even reaches 89.1%in contaminated lake water.This study provides promising insights for the nearly complete removal of BPA from wastewater or different water resources,which is advantageous to various applications in environmental remediation.

Objective:To investigate the prevalence and risk factors associated with long COVID symptoms among children and adolescents who have recovered from COVID-19.Methods:This study applied a cross-sectional approach within community settings in a southern province of Vietnam.A structured questionnaire featuring socio-demographic information and common long COVID symptoms was employed.Phi correlation coefficients assessed associations among pairs of long COVID symptoms.Additionally,multivariable logistic regression models were performed to investigate the risk factors of long COVID in recovered COVID-19 children and adolescents.Results:Among 422 participants,39.3%reported long COVID symptoms,with a prevalence of 45.2%(SD=0.5)in children and 22.2%(SD=0.4)in adolescents.Common symptoms reported were cough 34.6%(SD=0.5),fatigue 20.6%(SD=0.4),shortness of breath 10.9%(SD=0.3),and lack of appetite 6.6%(SD=0.3).Concerning risk factors of long COVID,a higher risk was observed among demographic groups,including girls(OR 1.25,95%CI 1.15-1.37;Phave received only one single dose(OR 1.35,95%CI 1.10-1.64;P=0.004)compared to those who have received two doses.Besides,patients with a COVID-19 treatment duration exceeding two weeks also had a higher risk of long COVID(OR 1.32,95%CI 1.09-1.60;P=0.003)than those who recovered less than seven days.Conclusions:The insights from this study provide crucial guidance for predicting the factors associated with the occurrence of long COVID in pediatric patients,contributing to strategic interventions aimed at mitigating the long COVID risks among children and adolescents in Vietnam.

The recent outbreak of the coronavirus disease of 2019(Covid-19)has been causing many disruptions among the education systems worldwide,most of them due to the abrupt transition to online learning.The sudden upsurge in digital electronic devices usage,namely personal computers,laptops,tablets and smart-phones is unprecedented,which leads to a new wave of both mental and physical health problems among students,for example eye-related illnesses.The overexpo-sure to electronic devices,extended screen time usage and lack of outdoor sun-light have put a consequential strain on the student’s ophthalmic health because of their young age and a relative lack of responsibility on their own health.Failure to take appropriate external measures to mitigate the negative effects of this pro-cess could lead to common ophthalmic illnesses such as myopia or more serious conditions.To remedy this situation,we propose a software solution that is able to track and capture images of its users’eyes to detect symptoms of eye illnesses while simultaneously giving them warnings and even offering treatments.To meet the requirements of a small and light model that is operable on low-end devices without information loss,we optimized the original MobileNetV2 model with depth-wise separable convolutions by altering the parameters in the last layers with an aim to minimize the resizing of the input image and obtained a new model which we call EyeNet.Combined with applying the knowledge distillation tech-nique and ResNet-18 as a teacher model to train the student model,we have suc-cessfully increased the accuracy of the EyeNet model up to 87.16%and support the development of a model compatible with embedded systems with limited computing power,accessible to all students.

The effects of low energy X-ray irradiation on microbial inactivation,sprouting inhibition and genetic variation were surveyed.There was an inverse correlation between the exposure dose in range of 0 Gy–5000 Gy and the survival rate of microorganisms.The dose of 1000 Gy seemed to be suitable for inactivation of microorganisms because the respective survival rate is relatively low (0.59%).Dose rate of 13.87 Gy/min was the most appropriate to inactivate the microorganisms,with the survival rate of 0.37%.Applying the irradiation dose of 1000 Gy and dose rate of 13.87 Gy/min,there was a significant sprouting inhibition of irradiated potatoes compared to the control for six months storage.The effect of irradiation dose (100–1200 Gy) and dose rate (8.63–19.62 Gy/min) on genetic variation of the irradiated samples was assessed by DNA fingerprints induced from using three molecular techniques including Random Amplified Polymorphic DNA (RAPD),Start Codon Targeted Polymorphism (SCoT) and CAAT box – derived polymorphism (CBDP).At the irradiation dose of 1000 Gy and dose rate of 13.87 Gy/min,the level of genetic variation was relatively low (4.85%).Thus,this treatment is a suitable condition of irradiation for potato treatment with the purpose of preservation.

Design and synthesis of low bandgap(LBG) polymer donors is inevitably challenging and their processability from a non-halogenated solvent system remains a hurdle to overcome in the area of highperformance polymer solar cells(PSCs).Due to a high aggregation tendency of LBG polymers,especially diketopyrrolopyrrole(DPP)-based polymers coupled with bithiophenes in the polymer backbones,their widespread adoption in non-ha logena ted solvent-processed PSCs has been limited.Herein,a novel LBG DPP-based polymer,called PDPP4 T-1 F with asymmetric arrangement of fluorine atom,has been successfully synthesized and showed an outstanding power conversion efficiency(PCE) of 10.10% in a singlejunction fullerene-based PSCs.Furthermore,an impressive PCE of 13.21% has been achieved in a tandem device from a fully non-halogenated solvent system,which integrates a wide bandgap PDTBTBz-2 F polymer in the bottom cell and LBG PDPP4 T-1 F polymer in the top cell.The achieved efficiency is the highest value reported in the literature to date in fullerene-based tandem PSCs.We found that a uniformly distributed interpenetrating fibril network with nano-scale phase separation and anisotropy of the polymer backbone orientation for efficient charge transfer/transport and suppressed charge recombination in PDPP4 T-1 F-based PSCs led to outstanding PCEs in single and tandem-junction PSCs.

Pollution in the coastal areas negatively affects biochemical indicators of seawater, human health and marine organisms. hai Phong is a coastal city of Vietnam with the development of socio-economic activities, representing through an increasing number of industrial zones. This study is to evaluate the pollution of large industrial zones in hai Phong city using numerical models. The numerical simulation (MIKE 21 SW, FM, ECO Lab) models were applied to simulate the wave propagation, hydraulic regime, water quality in coastal hai Phong area. The MIKE 21 ECO Lab model was used to evaluate sources of waste from the large coastal industrial zones to some aquaculture zones. The calibration and validation results of wave propagation and the hydrodynamic models were resonably good, with Nash coefficient ranging from 0.65 to 0.90 and a percent bias (PBIAS) from 5.6% to 9.4%. The simulation results of water quality and concentration of pollutants (DO, BOD5, COD, TSS, Fe, and Coliform) in 2023 at the aquaculture locations show that the BOD5, COD, and TSS concentrations were higher than the allowable limits stated in the national technical regulation on surface water quality (QCVN 08:2023/BTNMT) and lower than the allowable limits stated in the national technical regulation on marine water quality (QCVN 10:2023/BTNMT). The outcomes of this study will provide more information to support managers to come up with a better socio-economic development plan for hai Phong city to achieve sustainable development.

Fine particulate matter (PM2.5) mainly originates from combustion emissions on-road transportation. Exposure to PM2.5 could be considered one of the primary causes of diseases such as heart attack, stroke, lung cancer, and chronic respiratory, which made it one of the most important co-benefits when evaluating the impact of GHG mitigation measures. This study quantifies the co-benefit of ha Noi’s modal shift from private to public means of transport, which are reduced air pollution and extended life expectancy, combining AERMOD model and benefit transfer method. Analytical results show that shifting from motorbike to electric train could be the most beneficial option in term of health co-benefit, compared to the usage of standard buses and BRTs.

提升越南田径竞技水平,一方面是越南发展竞技体育的重点方向,另一方面也是越南在东南亚运动会和亚洲运动会上崭露头角,提高国际赛事水平竞争力的重要事项。在最近的10余年中,越南田径运动员虽然在奥运会、世锦赛和亚运会等重大赛事上取得了好成绩,在个别项目上也有所突破,但是与现代世界田径强国的田径运动水平仍有一定差距。如何缩小与田径强国之间的差距,让越南在东南亚地区跻身田径强国行列,不仅需要因地制宜的制定未来发展规划和战略目标,还需要积极探寻学习经验。众所周知,中国田径队在亚洲赛场一直稳居霸主、傲视群雄。因此本文以中国为可借鉴对象,通过对近年来越南竞技体育发展、田径运动发展以及中国竞技体育发展、中国田径竞技水平的现状以及中国田径在国际大型比赛中的表现等相关知识进行系统梳理,并对越中田径竞技运动在各大型比赛中获奖牌情况、各项目成绩分布进行对比,以及越南和中国的竞技运动发展现状和影响因素进行分析,得出了以下结论:1.在第16届-18届亚运会的田径比赛中,中国队的成绩优于越南队,越南队在三届亚运会中的整体水平程逐步提高,其中速度性项群为优势项群,耐力性项目为劣势项目,女子水平高于比男子水平;中国队在三届亚运会中的优势明显,但整体水平有下降趋势,其中,快速力量性项目较强,速度性项群和耐力性项目次之,同样存在阴盛阳衰的现象。在第29届—31届奥运会田径比赛中,中国队的成绩优于越南队,其中越南队整体水平在提高,其优势项目表现在快速力量性项目上;中国队的优势项目集中在快速力量性项目和耐力性项目上,速度性项目是短板。2.越南田径教练员的业务能力、运动员的文化素质和运动训练水平、科学训练水平、训练条件的先进性、竞赛体系、体育体制和政策,以及经济大环境等因素是制约越南田径运动发展和水平提高的主要因素。3.中国田径运动的发展优于越南,得益于有一支优秀的教练员队伍和优秀的田径运动员队伍;得益于好的体育体制作保障;得益于训练手段和科学性在不断提高,竞赛体系不断完善。4.越南的田径竞技运动水平要赶超中国,要在以下几个方面努力:其一,体育体制要创新,改革现有的举国体制,保持举国体制的优势,走国家办和社会办体育的市场运行模式;其二,加大田径运动训练的经费投入,具体要在田径场馆建设、田径运动科学化训练、运动员选材等方面加大投入;其三,提高教练员素质,严格奖惩制度;其四,加强运动员文化教育,持续扩大田径后备队伍的建设;其五,创新竞赛体系;其六,加强田径运动的宣传与国际交流。
