BACKGROUNd Advances in implant material and design have allowed for improvements in total knee arthroplasty(TKA)outcomes.A cruciate retaining(CR)TKA provides the least constraint of TKA designs by preserving the native posterior cruciate *** research exists that has examined clinical outcomes or patient reported outcome measures(PROMs)of a large cohort of patients undergoing a CR TKA utilizing a kinematically designed *** was hypothesized that the studied CR Knee System would demonstrate favorable outcomes and a clinically significant improvement in pain and functional *** To assess both short-term and mid-term clinical outcomes and PROMs of a novel CR TKA *** A retrospective,multi-surgeon study identified 255 knees undergoing a TKA utilizing a kinematically designed CR Knee System(JOURNEY™II CR;Smith and Nephew,Inc.,Memphis,TN)at an urban,academic medical institution between March 2015 and July 2021 with a minimum of two-years of clinical follow-up with an orthopedic *** demographics,surgical information,clinical outcomes,and PROMs data were collected via query of electronic medical *** PROMs collected in the present study included the Knee Injury and Osteoarthritis Outcome Score for Joint Replacement(KOOS JR)and Patient-Reported Outcomes Measurement Information System(PROMIS■)*** significance of improvements in mean PROM scores from preoperative scores to scores collected at six months and two-years postoperatively was analyzed using Independent Samples *** Of the 255 patients,65.5%were female,43.8%were White,and patients had an average age of 60.6 *** osteoarthritis(96.9%)was the most common primary *** mean surgical time was 105.3 minutes and mean length of stay was 2.1 d with most patients discharged home(92.5%).There were 18 emergency department(Ed)visits within 90 d of surgery resulting in a 90 d Ed visit rate of 7.1%,including a 2.4%orthopedic-related Ed visit ra

Obesity has been linked to a range of pathologies,including *** contrast,regular physical activity is associated with the prevention or reduced progression of ***,physical activity can improve memory and spatial cognition,reduce age-related cognitive decline,and preserve brain volume,but the mechanisms are not fully ***,we investigated whether any detrimental effects of high-fat diet(HFd)-induced obesity on cognition,motor behavior,adult hippocampal neurogenesis,and brain-derived neurotrophic factor(BdNF)could be mitigated by voluntary exercise training in male C57Bl/6 ***-induced impairment of motor function was not reversed by ***,voluntary wheel running improved long-term memory and increased hippocampal neurogenesis,suggesting that regular physical activity may prevent cognitive decline in obesity.

Near-infrared emission of Yb3＋ and Bi3＋-co-doped GdVO4 vanadate phosphors obtained via the modified Pechini＇s method was reported. The phase purity and structure of samples were characterized by X-ray powder diN＇action （XRd）, X-ray energy disper- sion spectroscopy （EdS）, scanning electron microscopy （SEM）, Raman and infrared （IR） spectroscopy. Photoluminescence emission （PL） and excitation （PLE） spectra were recorded and investigated in details. Results indicated that upon near-UV excitation （340 nm） in the （Bi3＋-V5＋） charge transfer state this phosphor had a strong broad band yellow-green emission （3Pi--ISo） of Bi3＋ ions and also NIR emission （2Fs/2-2Fv/2） of Yb3＋ ions in the range of 950-1050 nm, which matched well with the spectral response of the sili- con-based solar cells. The decreasing Bi3＋ emission with increasing Yb3＋ concentration proved the occurrence of energy transfer from Bi3＋ to Yb3＋ ions. Results demonstrated that Yb3＋ and Bi3＋-co-doped GdVO4 vanadate phosphors might act as a NIR down-conversion （dC） solar spectral converter to enhance the efficiency of the silicon-based solar cells.

Spectroscopic properties of tetragonal LiYbF_4 nanocrystals under high dense NIR excitation at vacuum condition were investigated. White, broad band emission covering whole visible part of the spectrum from LiYbF_4 nanocrystals was observed. Its intensity strongly depended on the excitation power, excitation wavelength and ambient pressure. Temperature of the nanocrystals under 975 nm excitation was determined as a function of excitation power. Strong photo-induced current was observed from LiYbF_4 pallet. The emission kinetic was analyzed. The mechanism of the anti-Stokes white emission was discussed in terms of the laser-induced charge transfer emission from Yb^（2＋） states.

This study investigates water vapor isotopic patterns and controls over China using high-quality water vapor δd data retrieved from the Scanning Imaging Absorption Spectrometer for Atmospheric Chartography(SCIAMACHY) *** results show that water vapor δd values on both annual and seasonal time-scales broadly exhibit a continental effect,with values largely decreasing northwestward from coastal lowlands to high-elevation mountainous ***,region-specific analysis reveals spatially distinct patterns of water vapor δd between *** the monsoon domain(e.g.,China south of 35°N),depletion in d in the summer and fall seasons is closely tied to monsoon moisture sources(the Indian and Pacific oceans) and subsequent amount effect,but higher δd values in winter and spring are a result of isotopically-enriched continental-sourced moisture proceeded by less *** contrast,farther inland in China(non-monsoon domain),moisture is derived overwhelmingly from the dry continental air masses and local evaporation,and δd values are largely controlled by the temperature effect,exhibiting a seasonality with isotopically enriched summer and depleted winter/*** observation that the spatial pattern of water vapor δd is the opposite to that of precipitation δd in the summer season also suggests that partial evaporation of falling raindrops is a key driver of water vapor isotope in the non-monsoon *** study highlights the importance of non-Rayleigh factors in governing water vapor isotope,and provides constraints on precipitation isotope interpretation and modern isotope hydrological processes over China.

The ex-copula penile dorsiflexion reflex(PdFR)is an established measure of sexual dysfunction in male rat models of spinal cord *** the PdFR after complete spinal transection is well described,information regarding the more clinically relevant incomplete spinal contusion injury model is *** study examined,using two-dimensional(2d)kinematic analysis,the relationship between the PdFR and degree of white matter sparing(WMS).Male Wistar rats received a T9 contusion with varying degrees of impactor *** kinematic recordings of the PdFR were made 3-8 weeks *** reflex components examined included maximum angle of penile dorsiflexion,total penile event duration,and penile ascent *** hoc comparison between animals grouped based upon injury severity(moderate-severe:13.33%-17.15%WMS vs moderate:20.85%-33.50%WMS)ndicated PdFR ***,the numbers of animals with more moderate contusions having data points above the median n both maximum angle of penile dorsiflexion and penile ascent speed were significantly lower than animals with more severe *** penile event duration was also affected but only at more chronic time points(6-8 weeks).Thus,2d kinematic analysis of the PdFR allows for more consistent and quantifiable analysis of the subtle differences that can occur between injury severity groups in the rat contusion model.

为研究超低温双螺旋速冻(Ultra-low Temperature double Spiral Quick Freezing,UTdSQF)对原料猪肉加工品质的影响,该研究以宰后24 h且pH值在正常范围内的猪背最长肌为研究对象,分别采用常规空气冻结(Air-blast Freezing,AF)和超低温双螺旋速冻两种方式对猪背最长肌进行冻结,随后在-20℃冷库中冻藏90 d后于4℃解冻,加工制成乳化香肠,测定两种冻结方式对其理化、质构和感官品质的影响。研究表明:原料肉不同冻结方式对乳化肠pH值没有显著影响(P>0.05);与AF组相比,UTdSQF组的TBARS值和蒸煮损失分别降低26.67%、31.25%(PdSQF组的硬度、咀嚼性、回复性和内聚性显著升高(P0.05);同时,UTdSQF处理原料肉显著提升了乳化肠的感官评分(P<0.05)。因此超低温双螺旋速冻处理能够整体提升原料肉的加工品质。

Background: The use of feed grade amino acids can reduce the cost of lactation feed. With changing genetics,increasing feed costs, and higher number of pigs weaned with heavier wean weights further evaluation of higher inclusion levels of feed-grade amino acid in lactation diets than previously published is warranted. Two experiments(Exp.) were conducted to determine the optimal inclusion level of L-lysine HCl to be included in swine lactation diets while digestible lysine levels remain constant across dietary treatments and allowing feed grade amino acids to be added to the diet to maintain dietary ratios relative to lysine to maximize litter growth rate and sow reproductive performance. Furthermore, the studies were to evaluate minimal amino acid ratios relative to lysine that allows for optimal litter growth rate and sow reproductive ***: Exp. 1: Increasing L-lysine HCl resulted in similar gilt feed intake, litter, and reproductive *** litter gain from birth to weaning was 2.51, 2.49, 2.59, 2.43, and 2.65 kg/d when gilts were fed 0.00, 0.075,0.150, 0.225, and 0.30% L-lysine HCl, respectively. Exp. 2: The average litter gain from birth to weaning was 2.68,2.73, 2.67, 2.70, and 2.64 kg/d(P d 0.1, 0.2, 0.3, 0.4, and 0.4% L-lysine HCl plus valine,respectively. No other differences among dietary treatments were ***: Collectively, these studies demonstrate corn-soybean meal based lactation diets formulated with a constant SId lysine content for all parities containing up to 0.40% L-lysine HCl with only supplemental feed grade threonine and a methionine source have no detrimental effect on litter growth rate and subsequent total born.
