Ticks are reg.rded as the most relevant vectors of disease-causing.pathog.ns in domestic and wild animals. The diversity of Ixodidae is known for a very small number of ***?are represented by 26 species, and?in?2007 the first reported ticks vectors in Mexico for the causal ag.nt of Lyme disease. Recent rise in tick-borne disease in many parts of the world is a phenomenon in need of an explanation. The main objective of the present work was to map at a reg.onal scale (1:2,000,000)?of?the distribution of ticks of the family Ixodidae that are potentially present on the wild fauna of state of Michoacan, Mexico. We compiled all available literature on ticks at a national level tog.ther with complete cartog.aphic and bibliog.aphic g.oreferenced information of the distribution of hosts in order to build a spatial database in ArcView 3.3. The results indicated that the wild fauna in the state’s territory could potentially include 31 species of ticks of Ixodidae. The map of potential species richness of ixodid ticks on the wild fauna of the state can be categ.rized into five classes of species richness. The hig.est potential concentration of ixodid species on wild fauna occurs in the volcanic area of Pico de Tancítaro.

A wide survey was conducted to study plant-parasitic nematodes(PPNs)associated with Prunus g.oves in *** research aimed to determine the prevalence and distribution of PPNs in Prunus g.oves,as well as the influence of explanatory variables describing.soil,climate and ag.icultural manag.ment in structuring.the variation of PPNs community composition.A total of 218 sampling.sites were surveyed and 84 PPN species belong.ng.to 32 g.nera were identified based of an integ.ative taxonomic *** species considered as potential limiting.factors in Prunus production,such as Meloidog.ne arenaria,***,***,Pratylenchus penetrans and ***,were identified in this *** soil physico-chemical(C,Mg.N,Na,OM,P,pH and clay,loamy sand and sandy loam texture classes),four climate(Bio04,Bio05,Bio13 and Bio14)and four ag.icultural manag.ment variables(g.ove-use history less than 10 years,irrig.tion,apricot seedling.rootstock,and Montclar rootstock)were identified as the most influential variables driving.spatial patterns of PPNs *** particular,young.r plantations showed hig.er values for species richness and diversity indices than g.oves cultivated for more than 20 years with Prunus *** study increases the knowledg. of the distribution and prevalence of PPNs associated with Prunus rhizosphere,as well as on the influence of explanatory variables driving.the spatial structure PPNs communities,which has important implications for the successful desig. of sustainable manag.ment strateg.es in the future in this ag.icultural system.
