Infrared thermography (IRT) has emerged for evaluation of animal welfare. To test the hypothesis that cattle subjected to vaquejada increased temperature in the eye (CLO) and tail due to physical effort, a research was developed that aimed to measure maximum surface temperature in the CLO and base of tail using IRT. Eighty Nellore cattle were used, which were subjected to physical effort in three periods (morning, afternoon and night). IRT was performed at CLO and base of tail, in rest pen/corral (control) and during the vaquejada (pre- and post-run). Tails’ analysis was divided in 3 points (E1, E2 and E3). ANOVA and Tukey’s test (p d for analysis. Temperatures were higher in morning and afternoon and different from those at night on control (p during vaquejada with one run, CLO was higher in pre-run, followed by a slight reduction in post-run (p d in the morning, followed by the evening and night (p differences within the pre- and post-run periods. Temperatures at tail’s points were higher in morning period in cattle with two runs (p ded that there were no increases in CLO or at tail’s points after vaquejada races. The IRT method was efficient in determining surface temperatures in CLO and tail points in cattle under the same conditions and may be a good noninvasive method for clinical and welfare assessments.

Although recent diagnostic and therapeutic advances have substantially improved the survival of patients with gastric cancer(GC), the overall prognosis is still poor. Surgery is the only curative treatment and should be performed in experienced centers. due to high relapse following surgery, complementary and systemic treatment aimed at eradicating micrometastasis should be performed in most cases. Cytotoxic treatments are effective in downstaging locally advanced cancer, but different sensitivities and toxicities probably exist in different GC subtypes. Current treatment protocols are based primarily on clinical data and histological features, but molecular biomarkers that would allow for the prediction of treatment responses are urgently needed. Understanding how host factors are responsible for inter-individual variability of drug response or toxicity will also contribute to the development of more effective and less toxic treatments.

The main goal of this study was to introduce a novel three-dimensional procedure to objectively quantify both inner and outer condylar remodelling on preoperative multi-slice computed tomography （MSCT） and postoperative cone-beam computed tomography （CBCT） images. Second, the reliability and accuracy of this condylar volume quantification method was assessed. The mandibles of 20 patients （11 female and 9 male） who underwent bimaxillary surgery were semi-automatically extracted from MSCT/CBCT scans and rendered in 3d. The resulting condyles were spatially matched by using an anatomical landmark-based registration procedure. A standardized sphere was created around each condyle, and the condylar bone volume within this selected region of interest was automatically calculated. To investigate the reproducibility of the method, inter- and intra-observer reliability was calculated for assessments made by two experienced radiologists twice five months apart in a set of ten randomly selected patients. To test the accuracy of the bone segmentation, the inner and outer bone structures of one dry mandible, scanned according to the clinical set-up, were compared with the gold standard, micro-CT. Thirty-eight condyles showed a significant （P〈O.05） mean bone volume decrease of 26.4%_ 11.4% （502.9 mm3＋ 268.1 mm3）. No significant effects of side, sex or age were found. Good to excellent （ICC〉 0.6） intra- and inter-observer reliability was observed for both MSCT and CBCT. Moreover, the bone segmentation accuracy was less than one voxel （0.4 mm） for MSCT （0.3 mm __. 0.2 mm） and CBCT （0.4 mm _ 0.3 mm）, thus indicating the clinical potential of this method for objective follow-up in pathological condylar resorption.

This review was based on a literature search of PubM ed and Scielo databases using the keywords "quercetin,rutin,isoquercitrin,isoquercitin(IQ),quercetin-3-glucoside,bioavailability,flavonols and favonoids,and cancer" and combinations of all the *** collected relevant scientific publications from 1990 to 2015 about the absorption,bioavailability,chemoprevention activity,and treatment effects as well as the underlying anticancer mechanisms of *** are a group of polyphenolic compounds widely distributed throughout the plant *** subclass of flavonols receives special attention owing to their health *** main components of this class are quercetin,rutin,and IQ,which is a flavonoid and although mostly found as a glycoside,is an aglycone(lacks a glycoside side chain).This compound presents similar therapeutic profiles to quercetin but with superior bioavailability,resulting in increased efficacy compared to the aglycone *** has therapeutic applications owing to its wide range of pharmacological effects including antioxidant,antiproliferative,anti-inflammatory,anti-hypertensive,and *** protective effects of IQ in cancer may be due to actions on lipid *** addition,the antitumor effect of IQ and its underlying mechanism are related to interactions with Wnt signaling pathway,mixed-lineage protein kinase 3,mitogen-activated protein kinase,apoptotic pathways,as well proinflammatory protein *** review contributed to clarifying the mechanisms of absorption,metabolism,and actions of IQ and isoquercitrin in cancer.

due to the high incidence of bone fractures in the population, it became necessary to produce scaffolds that are able to assist in tissue regeneration. It is necessary to find an appropriate balance between the mechanical and biological properties, in order to mimic the natural tissue, these properties are directly related to the architecture and their degree of porosity, as well as the size of their pores and their interconnectivity. In this perspective, the 3d printing stands out, where the structure is obtained layer by layer, according to a predetermined computational model which provides a greater control of architecture and scaffold geometry and overcomes, in this way, the limitations of traditional techniques of scaffolds manufacturing. In this way, the objective of this seminar is to present the state of the art of the polymer scaffolds produced by 3d printing and applied to bone tissue regeneration, highlighting the advantages and limitations of this process.

We propose an automatic three-dimensionM （3d） pupil tracking backlight system for holographic 3d display system with large image size and full-parallax accommodation effect. The proposed tracking module is applied to a holographic 3d display system with two sets of directional holographic imaging module composed of 2 × 2 large scale lens array and 22-inch high-resolution liquid crystal display 3d panel. System architecture is described and experimental results are presented.

Background:This study aimed at investigating the effects of mycotoxin challenge on the growth and physiology of nursery pigs with different weaning ***:At weaning,10 pigs were euthanized to collect jejunal mucosa and 90 pigs were assigned following a randomized complete block design in a 2×2 factorial arrangement of treatments with 3 pigs per *** were:weaning weight(light:body weight,BW9.0 kg);and dietary mycotoxins(supplementation of 0.2 mg/kg aflatoxins,2.0 mg/kg deoxynivalenol).All diets had titanium dioxide as an external marker at 0.5%.Growth performance and fecal score were recorded until pigs achieved 20 kg BW(light pigs average BW=21.1 kg and heavy pigs average BW=20.5 kg).Pigs were sampled for blood,ileal digesta,jejunal tissue and mucosa at 20 kg *** were analyzed using the mixed procedure of *** weaning,light pigs had decreased(Pd(Pd increased(Pdiversity indexes of jejunal mucosa-associated *** 20 kg of BW,light pigs had decreased(Pdaily gain(AdG),average daily feed intake(AdFI),and gain to feed ratio(G/F).Mycotoxins decreased(PdG,AdFI,and G/*** pigs tended to have increased fecal score on d 0(P=0.080),d 10(P=0.069),and increased(Pdecreased the apparent ileal digestibility of nitrogen(Pd increased(Pdialdehydes and interleukin *** tended to increase(P=0.060)intestinal tumor necrosis factor-α.Conclusions:Nursery pigs with light weaning weight were more susceptible to jejunal inflammation and had impaired intestinal health due to weaning stress,whereas mycotoxins diminished the health and growth of nursery pigs regardless of weaning weight.

In this study, the ambient seismic noise cross-correlation technique is applied to estimate the upper structure of the crust beneath Great Island of Tierra del Fuego（TdF）, Argentina, by the analysis of shortperiod Rayleigh wave group velocities. The island, situated in the southernmost South America, is a key area of investigation among the interaction between the South American and Scotia plates and is considered as a very seismically active one. Through cross-correlating the vertical components of ambient seismic noise registered at four broadband stations in TdF, we were able to extract Rayleigh waves which were used to estimate group velocities in the period band of 2.5-16 s using a timefrequency analysis. Although ambient noise sources are distributed in homogeneously, robust empirical Green＇s functions could be recovered from the cross-correlation of 12 months of ambient noise, The observed group velocities were inverted considering a non-linear iterative damped least-squares inversion procedure and several 1-d shear wave velocity models of the upper crust were *** to the inversion results, the S-wave velocity ranges between 1.75 and 3,7 km/s in the first10 km of crust, depending on the pair of stations considered. These results are in agreement to the major known surface and sub-surface geological and tectonic features known in the area. This study represents the first ambient seismic noise analysis in TdF in order to constraint the upper crust beneath this *** can also be considered as a successful feasibility study for future analyses with a denser station deployment for a more detailed imaging of structure.
