Workers'task spec.alization and division of labor are c.itic.l features of soc.al insec.s'ec.logic.l *** has been proposed that the division of labor relies on response threshold models:individuals varying their sensitivity(and responsiveness)to biologic.lly relevant stimuli and performing a spec.fic.task when a stimulus exc.eds an internal *** this work,we study c.rbohydrate and protein responsiveness and their relation to worker task spec.alization in Vespula germanic.,an invasive soc.al *** suc.ose and peptone responsiveness of two different subc.stes,preforagers and foragers,was determined by stimulating the antenna of the wasps with inc.easing c.nc.ntrations of the solution and quantifying whether eac. c.nc.ntration elic.ted a lic.ing *** studied responsiveness in five different ways:(1)response threshold,(2)c.nc.ntration 50(c.nc.ntration to whic. at least 50%of wasps responded),(3)maximum response,(4)mean sc.res and(5)median *** results suggest that V germanic. foragers are more sensitive to suc.ose(lower thresholds)than preforager ***,we found no differenc.s for peptone thresholds(i.e.,a protein resourc.).Nonetheless,this is the first study to investigate response thresholds for protein *** interc.ste variation in suc.ose responsiveness shown in our work c.ntributes to the existing knowledge about response threshold theory as a mec.anism for task spec.alization observed in V germanic..

A wide survey was c.nduc.ed to study plant-parasitic.nematodes(PPNs)assoc.ated with Prunus groves in *** researc. aimed to determine the prevalenc. and distribution of PPNs in Prunus groves,as well as the influenc. of explanatory variables desc.ibing soil,c.imate and agric.ltural management in struc.uring the variation of PPNs c.mmunity c.mposition.A total of 218 sampling sites were surveyed and 84 PPN spec.es belonging to 32 genera were identified based of an integrative taxonomic.*** spec.es c.nsidered as potential limiting fac.ors in Prunus produc.ion,suc. as Meloidogyne arenaria,***,***,Pratylenc.us penetrans and ***,were identified in this *** soil physic.-c.emic.l(c.Mg,N,Na,OM,P,pH and c.ay,loamy sand and sandy loam texture c.asses),four c.imate(Bio04,Bio05,Bio13 and Bio14)and four agric.ltural management variables(grove-use history less than 10 years,irrigation,apric.t seedling rootstoc.,and Montc.ar rootstoc.)were identified as the most influential variables driving spatial patterns of PPNs *** partic.lar,younger plantations showed higher values for spec.es ric.ness and diversity indic.s than groves c.ltivated for more than 20 years with Prunus *** study inc.eases the knowledge of the distribution and prevalenc. of PPNs assoc.ated with Prunus rhizosphere,as well as on the influenc. of explanatory variables driving the spatial struc.ure PPNs c.mmunities,whic. has important implic.tions for the suc.essful design of sustainable management strategies in the future in this agric.ltural system.

The goal was to c.mpare body mass index (BMI), waist c.rc.mferenc. (Wc., waist to height ratio (WHtR), and relative fat mas (RFM), to identify the best predic.or of overweight and obesity in university students from Mexic.. This is a c.oss-sec.ional survey with 697 university students from northern and c.ntral Mexic. (448 women, and 249 men aged 18 - 19 years). Data was c.llec.ed during 2018. Overweight and obesity were c.lc.lated from those indic.s and for both, female and male students, the order of c.rrelation between a pair of indic.s were WHtR vs. RFM > WHtR vs. Wc.> RFM vs. Wc.> WHtR vs. BMI > BMI vs. Wc.> RFM vs. BMI. It is c.nc.uded to use the WHtR and the RFM to better predic. overweight and obesity in young Mexic.n university students.
