1 Introduction Erectile dysfunction （Ed） and coronary artery disease （CAd） are closely linked, as both conditions share the same cardiovascular risk factors. Indeed, these risk factors can determine endothelial dysfunction that represents the common underlying mechanism of both Ed and CAd. The prevalence of Ed is about three-fold higher among diabetic patients than in the general population and a higher prevalence of CAd has been observed in people with diabetes when compared to non-diabetic *** studies showed that Ed can be a powerful marker of silent CAd and a strong predictor of cardiovascular events in apparently uncomplicated type 2 diabetic patients Therefore Ed is now considered as a sentinel symptom of silent CAd, as Ed often precedes the onset of myocardial ischemia itself by many years.

A group of 39 Transgender subjects, 17 Female to Male (FtM) and 22 Male to Female (MtF), have been evaluated about their sexual desire, activity, and satisfaction during the period before and after Sex Reassignment by Surgery (SRS). Visual Analogue Scale from 0 to 10 has been used to assess sexual desire and satisfaction, number of sexual partners and number of sexual intercourses/ month have been evaluated to assess sexual activity. Moreover, after the surgery, the Sexual desire Inventory-2 (SdI-2) was administered to patients and related to testosterone (total or free) levels. In FtM, after hysterectomy and bilateral ovariectomy, mean value of sexual desire (VAS 0 - 10) was 7.5 before beginning testosterone therapy, this value increased after six months of therapy and after one year. Just before SRS the value decreased, but increased to 8.42 after SRS. In the same patients the values (VAS 0 - 10) on sexual satisfaction were respectively 6.5, 6.9, 7.1, 6.5 and 7. Mean number of partners was 4, with 7.07 mean frequency of sexual intercourse/month, before starting therapy (after hysterectomy). during hormonal therapy (testosterone), No. of partners was 2.46 and 8.96 intercourses/month, while after SRS the partners were 1.25 and intercouses/month 7.91. MtF patients reported a sexual desire (VAS 0 - 10) before therapy of 7, this remained almost constant after 6 months, decreases after 12 months and just before surgery, and finally increased to 7.76 after SRS. For sexual satisfaction mean values of VAS were respectively: 6.1, 6.2, 6.3, 6, and 6.8. Regarding sexual activity, MtF report 3.81 mean No. of partners and 9.27 intercouses/month before the beginning of hormonal therapy, 1.36 partners and 4.36 intercourses after therapy, and 1.3 partners and 4.54 intercourses after SRS.

AIM:To describe the role of nuclear imaging modalities using nor-cholesterol,metaiodobenzylguanidine(MIBG)and fluorine-deoxy-glucose(FdG)in adrenal tumors for lesion characterization in comparison with magnetic resonance(MR).METHOdS:Population was classified in group 1 consisting of 30 patients with non-hypersecreting unilateral adrenal masses,in group 2 consisting of 34 patients with hypersecreting(n=19)or non-hypersecreting(n=15)adrenal adenomas and in group 3 consisting of 18 patients with chromaffin-tissue tumors(CTT),of which 14 were pheochromocytomas while 4 were paragangliomas(n=4).All patients underwent MR and nuclear studies(nor-cholesterol,MIBG and FdG).Pathology samples(n=63)or follow-up data in adenomas(n=19)were used as standard of reference forimaging studies ***:In group 1,MR findings were not highly accurate for lesion characterization,while the results of nuclear scans showed abnormal nor-cholesterol,MIBG and FdG concentration in all cases of adenomas,pheos and malignant tumors,*** group 2,no differences in MR parameters were found between hyperfunctioning and non-hyperfunctioning adenomas,while nor-cholesterol uptake was significantly higher in hyperfunctioning compared to non-hyperfunctioning *** group 3,no differences in MR parameters were found between benign and malignant CCT,while MIBG uptake was significantly higher in malignant compared to benign ***:On the basis of our findings,nuclear imaging modalities using specific target agents are able to better characterize adrenal tumors,compared with *** particular,radionuclide techniques are able to identify the nature of adrenal incidentalomas and to differentiate between hypersecreting and non-hypersecreting adenomas as well as between benign and malignant CTT.

Objective: To evaluate the efficacy of extractive or-thopaedic orthodontic treatment in mixed late denti-tion in two female patients presenting Class III mal-occlusion and hyperdivergent facial types due to maxillary retrusion. Materials and Methods: The or- thopaedic phase, carried out using posteroanterior extraoral traction combined with rapid palatal ex-panders, was followed by extraction of four premo-lars and application of bidimensional technique fixed appliances (Boston University). Results: We achieved functional and aesthetic improvement via normalisa-tion of the transversal dimensions and a sagittal in-crease in the maxilla while maintaining vertical sta-bility. The extractions permitted resolution of the crowding problem and normalisation of the overbite and overjet, and Class I molar and canine occlusion was achieved. Conclusions: Timely intervention and exploitation of extractive space to compensate for skeletal alterations using only orthopaedic orthodon-tic treatment can allow achievement of excellent re-sults.

Our aim was to evaluate the reproducibility of the Functional Independence Measure (FIM) scale when assessed by physical therapists in the routine setting of a Rehabilitation Hospital. We included a consecutive series of patients with spinal cord or cerebral lesions. Each of the 50 selected patients was evaluated by two of the 5 experienced physical therapists participating in the study. The degree of inter-rater and intrarater agreement was measured by a weighted k statistic, k for perfect agreement, and k for the agreement with tolerance. The weighted k index for inter-rater agreement on the FIM score was in the almost perfect range (k 0.87;95% CI = 0.79 - 0.95), but a 20-point tolerance was necessary to reach a k value of 0.81 (95% CI = 0.66 - 0.95). Agreement was substantial or almost perfect for most subscales, but the k index with 1-point tolerance reached the almost perfect rating for comprehension only. For intra-rater agreement, weighted k index was in the almost perfect range for the FIM score and for all subscales;kappa index reached the almost perfect range with a 4-point tolerance for FIM score and with 1-point of tolerance for all subscales except interpersonal relations. FIM is useful to monitor patient improvement during rehabilitation treatment, mostly when assessed by the same physical therapist.

Quantum entanglement and squeezing have significantly improved phase estimation and imaging in interferometric settings beyond the classical ***,for a wide class of non-interferometric phase imaging/retrieval methods vastly used in the classical domain,e.g.,ptychography and diffractive imaging,a demonstration of quantum advantage is still ***,we fill this gap by exploiting entanglement to enhance imaging of a pure phase object in a non-interferometric setting,only measuring the phase effect on the free-propagating *** method,based on the so-called"transport of intensity equation",is quantitative since it provides the absolute value of the phase without prior knowledge of the object and operates in wide-field mode,so it does not need time-consuming raster ***,it does not require spatial and temporal coherence of the incident *** a general improvement of the image quality at a fixed number of photons irradiated through the object,resulting in better discrimination of small details,we demonstrate a clear reduction of the uncertainty in the quantitative phase *** we provide an experimental demonstration of a specific scheme in the visible spectrum,this research also paves the way for applications at different wavelengths,e.g.,X-ray imaging,where reducing the photon dose is of utmost importance.
