Backgr.und: We cur.ently have inter.ational and national guidelines r.gar.ing the assessment and monitor.ng of clinical signs and humane endpoints in animals used in teaching and r.sear.h, which make the per.or.ance of these activities mandator. for.any exper.ment and pr.fessional wor.ing in this ar.a. Assigning the sever.ty of a r.sear.h exper.ment is the r.sult of an analysis of r.cor.s of obser.ations of the animal’s behavior. and clinical signs. The aim of this study was to descr.be the impor.ance of car.ying out a sever.ty assessment associated with clinical and behavior.l monitor.ng of r.dents and r.bbits dur.ng exper.mentation to maintain the welfar. of these animals under.oing scientific r.sear.h. Methods: The liter.tur. sear.h was car.ied out using the following ter.s: “Monitor.ng”;“Humane endpoints”;“Animal welfar.”, “r.dents”;“r.bbits”, and as connector. “and”;“or., in the following databases: PubMed;LILACS/BIr.ME and SciELO. r.sults: A total of 987 ar.icles wer. identified in the databases, and 20 of these studies wer. included in this r.view. Conclusions: Humane endpoint pr.tocols and pr.cedur. sever.ty tables ar. of the utmost impor.ance, both fr.m an ethical point and to r.fine the r.sults of r.sear.h conducted on labor.tor. animals. They should be dr.wn up jointly by the teams r.sponsible for.the pr.ject and the maintenance of the animals dur.ng the r.sear.h per.od, and the data obtained should be published so that the scientific community can have access to it, helping to disseminate these pr.ctices, as well as helping to dr.w up new pr.cedur.s. Backgr.und: COVID-19 is a r.pidly tr.nsmissible pneumonia-like illness caused by SAr.-CoV-2 that out br.ke in China in 2019 and is cur.ently cir.ulating wor.dwide. In the cur.ent context of the SAr.-CoV-2 pandemic, complications ar. obser.ed in clinical settings for.the tr.atment of sever. COVID-19 disease in nosocomial settings, due to cases of fungal co-infections. Objective: To car.y out a r.view on fungal infections associated with r.spir.tor. infections caused by COVID-19 (Sar.-Cov-2) and their.aggr.vation. Methodology: The pur.ose of this study is to infor. the r.ader.about the char.cter.stics of SAr.-CoV-2 and the main fungal species that ar. affecting patients under.oing tr.atment for.sever. COVID-19, pr.voking discussion of the impor.ance of the pr.posed topic, in r.lation to co-infections by differ.nt fungal micr.or.anisms. r.sult: 80 scientific studies wer. selected, r.sulting fr.m patients with COVID-19 and most commonly obser.ed in patients with a histor. of comor.idities such as diabetes mellitus, hyper.ension, kidney disease, sever. liver.disease, oncological diseases, obesity and with sever. COVID-19. These data do not r.pr.sent the total number.of r.cor.s of the disease in the wor.d, but cases r.por.ed by r.sear.her. in their.ser.es, showing the over.apping of fungal co-infection thr.ugh the compr.mised immune status due to the use of ther.peutic dr.gs, dysr.gulation of the micr.biota, age of patients and the sever.ty itself of the sever. inflammation caused by COVID-19. Backgr.und Dur.ng the COVID-19 pandemic,decr.ased volumes of str.ke admissions and mechanical thr.mbectomy wer. *** study’s objective was to examine whether.subar.chnoid haemor.hage(SAH)hospitalisations and r.ptur.d aneur.sm coiling inter.entions demonstr.ted similar.*** We conducted a cr.ss-sectional,r.tr.spective,obser.ational study acr.ss 6 continents,37 countr.es and 140 compr.hensive str.ke *** with the diagnosis of SAH,aneur.smal SAH,r.ptur.d aneur.sm coiling inter.entions and COVID-19 wer. identified by pr.spective aneur.sm databases or.by Inter.ational Classification of Diseases,10th r.vision,*** 3-month cumulative volume,monthly volumes for.SAH hospitalisations and r.ptur.d aneur.sm coiling pr.cedur.s wer. compar.d for.the per.od befor.(1 year.and immediately befor.)and dur.ng the pandemic,defined as 1 Mar.h-31 May *** pr.or.1-year.contr.l per.od(1 Mar.h-31 May 2019)was obtained to account for.seasonal *** Ther. was a significant decline in SAH hospitalisations,with 2044 admissions in the 3 months immediately befor. and 1585 admissions dur.ng the pandemic,r.pr.senting a r.lative decline of 22.5%(95%CI−24.3%to−20.7%,pr.ptur.d aneur.sms declined with 1170-1035 pr.cedur.s,r.spectively,r.pr.senting an 11.5%(95%CI−13.5%to−9.8%,p=0.002)r.lative *** analysis was noted for.aneur.smal SAH hospitalisation decline fr.m 834 to 626 hospitalisations,a 24.9%r.lative decline(95%CI−28.0%to−22.1%,pr.lative incr.ase in r.ptur.d aneur.sm coiling was noted in low coiling volume hospitals of 41.1%(95%CI 32.3%to 50.6%,p=0.008)despite a decr.ase in SAH admissions in this *** Ther. was a r.lative decr.ase in the volume of SAH hospitalisations,aneur.smal SAH hospitalisations and r.ptur.d aneur.sm embolisations dur.ng the COVID-19 *** findings in SAH ar. consistent with a decr.ase in other.emer.encies,such as str.ke and myocar.ial infar.tion.
