Alzheimer’s disease(AD)is considered the most common and prevalent form of dementia of adult-onset with characteristic progressive impa.rment in cognition and *** cure for AD has not been found yet and the treatments available until recently were only *** of multidisciplinary approaches and efforts made by pharmaceutical companies,it was only in the past two years that new drugs were approved for the treatment of the *** beta(Aβ)immunotherapy is at the core of this therapy,which is one of the most innovative approaches looking to change the course of *** technology is based on synthetic peptides or monoclonal antibodies(mAb)to reduce Ab levels in the brain and slow down the advance of ***,this article reviews the state of the art about AD neuropathogenesis,the traditional pharmacologic treatment,as well as the modern active and passive immunization describing approved drugs,and drug prototypes currently under investigation in different clinical *** addition,future perspectives on immunotherapeutic strategies for AD and the rise of the aptamer technology as a non-immunogenic alternative to curb the disease progression are discussed.

recently,the Andean subparamo in Colombia has experienced severe wildfires,but little is known about the functional composition of recovering or not after a ***,we examined the functional community composition subparamo affected byfire in *** documented how functional traits changed 31 months after the disturbance and compared them with an unburned *** sampled from one to two years after the fire every four months,then registered all recruits in 1655m *** individuals were classified into strategy functional groups based on the traits of persistence and *** first group was stem type and regeneration mechanism(seedling and resprout),and the second was fruit type and dispersal *** investigated the degree to which functional diversity changes plant communities over time(woody and non-woody),and we compared it with an unburned *** most relevant results showed that resprouts and seed regenerated increased post-fire time and significant differences between sampling *** anemochory is the most relevant dispersal mode that indicates the community capacity to colonize the new gaps opened by the fire *** discuss how wildfire appears to be a triggering factor for persistence and dispersal strategy groups in subparamo burned given their characteristics of tolerance to *** this reason,a greater functional divergence between the ecosystems studied post-fire recovery has been related to higher levels of biodiversity at the landscape scale due to the high degree of endemism and significant differences in species composition between paramos.

Talinopsis frutescens(Anacampserotaceae,a family that is close related to Cactaceae)is a succulent species endemic to North *** aim of this study was to explore,using Ecological Niche Modeling(ENM),changes in potential distribution ranges considering different climate scenarios:past conditions during the Last Inter Glacial(LIG)and the Last Glacial Maximum(LGM),the present and projections for 2070(rCP 2.6 to 8.5).A pattern of contraction is observed during the LIG,which a.rees with other studies focused in species from arid *** pattern was followed by a migration towards the south during the LGM and a possible recent expansion to the north as is observed in the present *** future projections show the same contraction and fragmentation patterns,resulting in three discontinuous areas:the northern part of the Chihuahuan Desert,the southern-central part of the Mexican Plateau,and the smallest one in the Tehuacán-Cuicatlán *** projections for future scenarios a.ree with other studies and support that global climate change tends to alter the current distribution of arid environment species.

This paper explores a fuzzy analytic network process(FANP)approach in identifying the content of manufacturing strategy infrastructural decisions that integrates sustainability and classical manufacturing strategy framework with firm size *** findings are as follows:(1)firms must ensure highquality product requirements with a make-to-order production system;(2)large firms must prioritize decentralization of functional areas but they must also provide higher systems integration of all production-related information to mobilize better communication channels;(3)large firms must employ highly skilled human resources in order to provide strong support on functional areas;and(4)small and medium enterprises must focus on product introduction to the market as a strategy priority *** main contribution of this paper is the decision-making framework under uncertainty that holistically identifies the decisions that comprise a sustainable manufacturing strategy which may serve as guidelines in improving existing sustainable manufacturing practices or in creating new ones.

In this paper, receding horizon control of largescale sewage systems is addressed considering different modelling approaches, which include several inherent continuous/discrete phenomena（overflows in sewers and tanks） and elements（weirs） in the *** fact results in distinct behaviours depending on the dynamic state（flow/volume） of the *** behaviours can not be neglected nor can be modelled by a pure linear *** order to take into account these phenomena and elements for the design of the control strategy, a modelling approach based on piece-wise linear functions（PWLF） is proposed and compared against a hybrid modelling approach previously reported by the *** performance results and associated computation times considering both modelling approaches are compared by using a.real case study based on the Barcelona sewer *** have shown an important reduction in the computation time when the PWLF-based model is used, with an acceptable suboptimality level in the closed-loop system performance.

In this study, 10% of all registered fishermen in the coastal towns of Navachiste in Sinaloa, in northwestern Mexico, answered a survey designed to collect data on their perceptions of the following topics: the impact of turtle meat consumption;human health;bycatch;illegal turtle fishing;the illegal sea turtle market;the lo-cal economy;pollution;environmental education;the success of protective legislation;and sea turtle-based ec-otourism. Perceptions were analyzed using the fuzzy logic method through classification into 5 fuzzy member-ship sets: VL, very low;L, low;M, moderate;H, high;VH, very high. The 9 topics generated decision areas upon applying fuzzy inference that revealed the membership level of the answers in each fuzzy set. The eco-nomic potential of sea turtle-based ecotourism and the economic profitability of the illegal turtle meat market were perceived as VL. Conservation legislation was perceived as H, although inefficiently applied due to cor-ruption. Ecotourism and impacts on sea turtles were perceived as VL, because they were deemed unprofitable activities at the individual and community levels. Environmental education was perceived as L, because it cen-ters on nesting, hatching and releasing turtles and is directed at elementary and middle-school students. While fishers perceive a serious negative impact of fishing activities on sea turtles in the San Ignacio-Navachiste- Macapule area, they do not see themselves individually as part of the problem. Achieving sea turtle conserva-tion in this region requires: suitable ecotourism infrastructure, government investments in promotion, and stud-ies to estimate the minimum number of tourists needed to assure profitability.

The constant growth of a.r travel in the Philippines has brought about significant consequences to a.r traffic congestion. Given limited resources, major a.rports seek to address this issue while considering various attributes generally affecting a.r transportation. This paper adopts fuzzy decision-making trial and evaluation laboratory-analytic network process （DEMATEL-ANP） to identify the most critical attributes in the commercial aviation industry. A case study participated by key experts of Ninoy Aquino International a.rport was conducted to illustrate the proposed approach. The fuzzy DEMATELANP model performed satisfactorily as it was able to extract the global priority vectors of attributes under a fuzzy environment. The results showed that aviation safety is most prioritized, as can also be seen from the significant influence it brings on other attributes. Following next to safety in terms of priority axe attributes that address the general a.r transportation system such as economic value, environmental value, social value, equitable treatment of competing a.rline, customer goodwill, and utilization of runway and terminal. Then, attributes relating to passenger cost, fuel cost, extra crew cost, landing/take-off fee, and cost of using flight routes axe of last priority. Given the order of priorities and criticality of each attribute, shortterm and long-term policies can be framed accordingly to propose a.r traffic flow management actions that can best address the issue on congestion.

Aedes (Stegomyia) aegypti, the principal global vector of dengue viruses, has difTerences in its susceptibility to dengue virus infection. We compared the global expres? sion of genes in the midguts of Colombian Ae. aegypti dengue-susceptible (Cali-S) and dengue-refractory (Cali-MIB) field derived strains after ingesting either a sugarmeal, a bloodmeal, or a bloodmeal containing dengue virus serotype 2 (DENV-2). Microa.raybased transcriptome analysis among treatments indicated a total of 4725 transcripts with differential expression between the two strains. Eleven genes were selected from different functional groups based on their significant up or down expression levels as well as reports in the literature suggesting they are associated with dengue virus elimination. We measured mrNA abundance of these 11 genes at 0, 8, 24, and 36 h postinfection using quantitative real time PCr (qPCr) to confirm the microa.ray results and assess any temporal patterns. Four genes were selected (Gram-negative binding protein—GNBP [AAEL009176], Niemann Pick Type-C2一NPC2 [AAEL015136], Keratinocyte lectin [AAEL009842], and Cathepsin-b [AAEL007585]) for knockdown experiments using rNA interference (rNAi) methodology to determine the phenotype (DENV-2 susceptible or refractory). Silencing GNBP、Cathepsin-b and Keratinocyte lectin reduced the percentage of mosquitoes with disseminated virus in the Cali-S strain to 8%, 20%, and 12% respectively compared with 96% in the controls. Sile ncing of NPC2 increased the percentage of mosquitos with disseminated virus infections in Cali-MIB to 66% compared with 35% in the controls. This study provides in sight into genes that may contribute to the Cali-S susceptible and Cali-MIB refractory phenotypes in 昇匕 aegypti.
