The aim of this work was to evaluate the corrosion resistance of AuPdAgIn alloy, submitted to laser beam welding, in 0.9% NaCl solution, using electrochemical techniques. Measures of the open circuit potential (OCP) versus time were applied to electrochemical experiments, as well as potentiodynamic direct scanning (PDs) and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIs) on AuPdAgIn alloy, submitted to laser beam welding in 0.9% NaCl solution. some differences observed in the microstructure can explain the results obtained for corrosion potential, Ecorr, and corrosion resistance, Rp. EIs spectra have been characterized by distorted capacitive components, presenting linear impedance at low frequencies, including a non-uniform diffusion. The area of the laser weld presented corrosion potential slightly superior when compared to the one of the base metal. The impedance results suggest the best resistant corrosion behavior for laser weld than base metal region. This welding process is a promising alternative to dental prostheses casting.

The age at which a woman enters natural menopause has also been associated to death from any cause. Menopause is a natural component of aging that happens between the ages of 45 and 55, with the average menopausal age being 51. Previous research has revealed the age at which women reach menopause, but there is no evidence to support the link between menopause and longevity. We made a study in assessing the limits of maximum lifespan at menopausal age in our previous article. In this paper, we aim to predict the maximum lifespan of women at mean menopausal age.

spinal cord injuries have profound detrimental effects on individuals, regardless of whether they are caused by trauma or non-traumatic events. The compromised regeneration of the spinal cord is primarily attributed to damaged neurons, inhibitory molecules, dysfunctional immune response, and glial scarring. Unfortunately, currently, there are no effective treatments available that can fully repair the spinal cord and improve functional outcomes. Nevertheless, numerous pre-clinical approaches have been studied for spinal cord injury recovery, including using biomaterials, cells, drugs, or technological-based strategies. Combinatorial treatments, which target various aspects of spinal cord injury pathophysiology, have been extensively tested in the last decade. These approaches aim to synergistically enhance repair processes by addressing various obstacles faced during spinal cord regeneration. Thus, this review intends to provide scientists and clinicians with an overview of pre-clinical combinatorial approaches that have been developed toward the solution of spinal cord regeneration as well as update the current knowledge about spinal cord injury pathophysiology with an emphasis on the current clinical management.

Motivated by several long-lasting mechanistic questions for biomolecular proton pumps,we have engaged in developing hybrid quantum mechanical/molecular mechanical(QM/MM) methods that allow an efficient and reliable description of long-range proton transport in transmembrane *** this review,we briefly discuss several relevant issues:the need to develop a "multi-scale" generalized solvent boundary potential(GsBP) for the analysis of chemical events in large trans-membrane proteins,approaches to validate such a protocol,and the importance of improving the flexibility of QM/MM *** recent studies of model and realistic protein systems are also discussed to help put the discussions into ***,these studies suggest that the QM/MM-GsBP framework based on an approximate density functional theory(sCC-DFTB) as QM holds the promise to strike the proper balance between computational efficiency,accuracy and *** additional improvements in the methodology and recent developments by others,especially powerful sampling techniques,this "multi-scale" framework will be able to help unlock the secrets of proton pumps and other biomolecular machines.

In Argentina the best and most complete marine Juras- sic succession is exposed between 32° and 39° s, along a N-s belt roughly coincident with the border with Chile. Here all stages, except the Kimmeridgian, are represented by marine facies. Ammonites have provided a biostratigraphic framework to date and correlate lithostratigraphic units and sequences, to reconstruct the history of the marine fill, and allow the development of other palaeontological and geological studies. Recent studies on the systematics and/or biostratigra- phy of Andean ammonites have provided the basis for the presentation of a summary of the 45 ammonite zones of the Jurassic of west-central Argentina and to stress its significance in reconstructing the palaeogeographic evolution of that region.

In the summer of 2010/2011 Chile suffered the third most severe energy and water supply crisis in only one decade. This may be surprising as the Andes which accompany the country along 4,200 km are a water tower and could provide more electricity and water than needed. On top of that, it has to be mentioned that Chile also counts with sunny and windy climates and with excellent geothermal energy resources and thus has a huge potential as far as renewable energies are concerned. After analyzing the existing natural conditions, the infrastructure and the present challenges of climate change, it has to be asked in which way Chile can make use of this potential in the near future, considering the legal and political situation and the technological opportunities. It seems that the resources are still hidden in the Andes, and only the key is missing to realize the country＇s natural potential. This research has been based on the analysis of existing literature, media, quantitative data from government institutions and other antecedents obtained by the authors in field work done in the south of Chile in 2OLO. The added value of this compilation lies in the comprehensive perspective, linking the knowledge of climatologists, hydrologists, mountain researchers and energy experts in order to support a sustainable energy and water supply for the future in Chile. From this present research, it can be concluded that Chile necessarilyhas to adopt new energy-related strategies, particularly those aimed at diminishing the strong dependence on traditional sources of energy and establishing new techniques and technologies for generating electrieity and utilizing the vast potential that the country is ready to offer, such as that provided by the Andes along 4,200 kilometers.

The author studies the linkage between the standardness and the standard automorphisms of ChevMley groups over rings. It is proved that if H is any standard subgroup of G（R）, then each of its automorphisms can be extended to an automorphism of G（R, I）, restricted to an automorphism of E（R, I）, and an automorphism of E（R, I） can be extended to one of G（R, I）. The case of Chevalley groups of rank at least two is treated in this paper. Further results about the case of Chevalley groups of rank one, the case of nomcommutative ground ring and some others exceptions will appear elsewhere.

Background:Recently,Mullen et al.(2011)presented an 8-item version of the Physical Activity Enjoyment scale(PACEs)that provides a valid instrument for assessing enjoyment in physical *** present paper investigated the psychometric properties of a Portuguese adaptation of ***:After a process of back-to-back translation into Portuguese,395 members of fitness centers who ranged in age from 18 to 66 years(31.11§8.90,mean§sD)completed the translated version of the *** average,participants had 3.2 years of experience in fitness group classes and practiced for approximately 3.3 times per ***:An initial exploratory factor analysis(n=139)revealed a unidimensional structure with factor loadings ranging from 0.79 to *** also showed acceptable internal consistency.A confirmatory factor analysis in an independent sample(n=256)provided additional support for the unidimensional structure of the *** addition,moderate positive correlations between enjoyment and intrinsic and identified regulation,and moderate negative correlations between enjoyment and external and amotivation,demonstrate the convergent validity of the ***,measurement invariance between 2 independent samples was also ***:The 8-item Portuguese version of PACEs is a valid and reliable instrument for measuring enjoyment of physical activity in Portuguese adult fitness exercisers,and it is therefore suitable to use as a measure of affect in exercise adherence interventions studies.
