Complement factor B knockdown by short hairpin RNA inhibits laser-induced choroidal neovascularization in rats

P-and S-wavefield simulations using both the firstand second-order separated wave equations through a high-order staggered grid finite-difference method

In seismic exploration, it is common practice to separate the P-wavefield from the S-wavefield by the elastic wavefield decomposition technique, for imaging purposes. However, it is sometimes difficult to achieve this, especially when the velocity field is complex. A useful approach in multi-component analysis and modeling is to directly solve the elastic wave equations for the pure P- or S-wavefields, referred as the separate elastic wave equa- tions. In this study, we compare two kinds of such wave equations： the first-order （velocity-stress） and the second- order （displacement-stress） separate elastic wave equa- tions, with the first-order （velocity-stress） and the second- order （displacement-stress） full （or mixed） elastic wave equations using a high-order staggered grid finite-differ- ence method. Comparisons are given of wavefield snap- shots, common-source gather seismic sections, and individual synthetic seismogram. The simulation tests show that equivalent results can be obtained, regardless of whether the first-order or second-order separate elastic wave equations are used for obtaining the pure P- or S-wavefield. The stacked pure P- and S-wavefields are equal to the mixed wave fields calculated using the corre- sponding first-order or second-order full elastic wave equations. These mixed equations are computationallyslightly less expensive than solving the separate equations. The attraction of the separate equations is that they achieve separated P- and S-wavefields which can be used to test the efficacy of wave decomposition procedures in multi-com- ponent processing. The second-order separate elastic wave equations are a good choice because they offer information on the pure P-wave or S-wave displacements.

Solid Solute Regularity of La Atom inα-Fe Supercell by First-principles

The structure stability, elastic property and electronic structure of a-Fe supercell with La atom were inves- tigated by first-principles, in which, generalized gradient approximation （GGA） with the Perdew Burke Ernzerhof （PBE） was used as exchange-correlation functional, a-Fe supercells with La atom include a-Fe supercell with La atom in octahedral interstitial solid solute （La-OISS）, that with La atom in tetrahedral interstitial solid solute （La-TISS） and that with La atom in substitutional solid solute （La-SSS）. The results show that the La-SSS a-Fe supercell is more stable than La-OISS one. The resistance to volume change, reversible deformation and stiffness of La-OISS a-Fe supercell are stronger than those of La-SSS one. Moreover, the degrees of anisotropy and ionization in La-SSS a-Fe supercell are both stronger than those in La-OISS one. The bonding strength between La atom and Fe atom in La-SSS a-Fe supercell is larger than that in La-OISS one.

Randomized controlled study of the safety and efficacy of nitrous oxide-sedated endoscopic ultrasound-guided fine needle aspiration for digestive tract diseases

AIM To evaluate the efficacy and safety of nitrous oxidesedated endoscopic ultrasound-guided fine needle aspiration. METHODS Enrolled patients were divided randomly into an experimental group(inhalation of nitrous oxide) and a control group(inhalation of pure oxygen) and heart rate, blood oxygen saturation, blood pressure, electrocardiogram(ECG) changes, and the occurrence of complications were monitored and recorded. All patients and physicians completed satisfaction questionnaires about the examination and scored the process using a visual analog scale. RESULTS There was no significant difference in heart rate, blood oxygen saturation, blood pressure, ECG changes, or complication rate between the two groups of patients(P > 0.05). However, patient and physician satisfaction were both significantly higher in the nitrous oxide compared with the control group(P < 0.05).CONCLUSION Nitrous oxide-sedation is a safe and effective option for patients undergoing endoscopic ultrasound-guided fine needle aspiration.

Subnanometric bimetallic Pt-Pd clusters in zeolites for efficient hydrogen production and selective tandem hydrogenation of nitroarenes

The solvolysis of ammonia borane(AB)and the hydrogenation of nitroarenes represent significant reactions for hydrogen generation and value-added chemical *** strategic engineering of the catalysts is imperative for surmounting obstacles associated with their stability and catalytic *** this work,subnanometric bimetallic Pt–Pd clusters were encapsulated within silicalite-1(S-1)zeolites through a ligand-protected in-situ hydrothermal synthesis *** synergetic effect of bimetallic composition and zeolite confinement markedly enhances the catalytic performance of representative Pt_(0.5)Pd_(0.5)@S-1-H catalyst,affording exceptional turnover frequency(TOF)values of 1,043 and 573 mol_(H_(2))mol_(metal)^(-1)min^(-1)for AB hydrolysis and methanolysis at ambient conditions,respectively,surpassing most of the state-of-the-art Pt-based *** and isotopic experiments reveal that the bimetallic catalytic system remarkably boosts the O-H cleavage of water,thereby facilitating the H_(2) production from AB ***,a conspicuous synergistic effect is demonstrated in the shape-selective tandem hydrogenation of nitroarenes,with the bimetallic catalyst facilitating both AB hydrolysis and nitroarene hydrogenation,giving a high TOF value of 1,260 h^(-1)under atmospheric *** study not only demonstrates the effectiveness of bimetallic nanocatalysts encapsulated in zeolites for hydrogen production from chemical hydrogen storage materials,but also paves the way for the design of catalysts with multifunctional active sites capable of synergistically promoting tandem catalytic processes.

Infrared Photodissociation Spectroscopy of Ti＋（CO2）2Ar and Ti＋（CO2）n （n=3-7） Complexes

Ti＋（CO2）2Ar and Ti＋（CO2）n （n=3-7） complexes are produced by laser vaporization in a pulsed supersonic expansion. The ion complexes of interest are each mass-selected in a time- of-flight spectrometer, and studied with infrared photodissociation spectroscopy. For each complex, a sharp band in the CO stretching frequency region is observed, which confirms the formation of the OTi＋CO（CO2）~_l oxide-carbonyl species. Small OTi＋CO（CO2）~_1 complexes （n_〈5） exhibit CO stretching and antisymmetric CO2 stretching vibrational bands that are blue-shifted from those of free CO and CO2. The experimental observations indicate that the coordination number of CO and CO2 molecules around TiO＋ is five. Evidence is also observed for the presence of another electrostatic bonding Ti＋（CO2）2 structural isomer for the Ti＋（CO2）2Ar complex, which is characterized to have a bent OCO-Ti＋-OCO structure stabilized by argon coordination.

Synthesis of novel silica-supported chelating resin containing tert-butyl 2-picolyamino-N-acetate and its properties for selective adsorption of copper from simulated nickel electrolyte

A novel silica-supported tert-butyl 2-picolyamino-N-acetate chelating resin (Si-AMPY-1) was successfully synthesized and characterized by elemental analysis, FT-IR, SEM and 13 C CP/MAS NMR. The adsorption behaviors of the Si-AMPY-1 resin for Cu(Ⅱ) and Ni(Ⅱ) were studied with batch and column methods. The batch experiments indicated that the Si-AMPY-1 resin adsorbed Ni(Ⅱ) mainly via physisorption, while adsorbed Cu(II) via chemisorption. The column dynamic breakthrough curves revealed thatthe Si-AMPY-1 resin can efficiently separate Cu(Ⅱ) from the simulated nickel electrolyte before the breakthrough point. Moreover, the concentration of Cu(Ⅱ) in the column effluent was decreased to be less than 3 mg/L within the first 43 BV (bed volumes), and the mass ratio of Cu/Ni was 21:1 in the saturated resin, which completely satisfied the industrial requirements of the nickel electrorefining process. Therefore, it was concluded that the Si-AMPY-1 resin can be a promising candidate for the deep removal of Cu(Ⅱ) from the nickel electrolyte.

Electromagnetic anisotropic homogeneous model for eddy-current field in single-phase wound core

The analysis of the eddy-current field in the wound core widely used in the field of transformer energy conservation is taken as the *** the homogenisation idea to consider the unique geometry of the wound core and features of its equivalent multi-stage circular cross-section magnetic boundary,a homogeneous model consisting of a columnar material with continuous homogeneous electromagnetic anisotropy is established by deriving the Maxwell equations of the magnetic quasi-static field in the columnar coordinate ***,a homogeneous fine element model for the eddycurrent field in the wound core is established and the accuracy of the model has been verified by the test *** result shows that the homogeneous model can be effectively used for the analysis of the eddy-current field in the wound core,and the error of calculating the eddy-current loss under different excitation conditions is less than 6%under the premise of extremely saving the engineering calculation cost,which will help improve the operational performance of the wound core and contribute to the energysaving goal of the high-voltage equipment.

High-resolution neutronics model for ^(238)Pu production in high-flux reactors

We proposed and compared three methods(filter burnup,single energy burnup,and burnup extremum analysis)to build a high-resolution neutronics model for 238Pu production in high-flux *** filter burnup and single energy burnup methods have no theoretical approximation and can achieve a spectrum resolution of up to~1 eV,thereby constructing the importance curve and yield curve of the full energy *** burnup extreme analysis method combines the importance and yield curves to consider the influence of irradiation time on production efficiency,thereby constructing extreme *** three curves,which quantify the transmutation rate of the nuclei in each energy region,are of physical significance because they have similar distributions.A high-resolution neutronics model for ^(238)Pu production was established based on these three curves,and its universality and feasibility were *** neutronics model can guide the neutron spectrum optimization and improve the yield of ^(238)Pu by up to 18.81%.The neutronics model revealed the law of nuclei transmutation in all energy regions with high spectrum resolution,thus providing theoretical support for high-flux reactor design and irradiation production of ^(238)Pu.

Ru-Ni alloy nanosheets as tandem catalysts for electrochemical reduction of nitrate to ammonia

Developing electrocatalysts that exhibit both high activity and ammonia selectivity for nitrate reduction is a significant and demanding challenge,primarily due to the complex nature of the multiple-electron reduction process *** encouraging approach involves coupling highly active precious metals with transition metals to enhance catalytic performance through ***,we report a ruthenium-nickel alloy catalyst with nanosheets(Ru-Ni NSs)structure that achieves a remarkable ammonia Faradaic efficiency of approximately 95.93%,alongside a yield rate of up to 6.11 g·h^(−1)·cm^(−2).Moreover,the prepared Ru-Ni NSs exhibit exceptional stability during continuous nitrate reduction in a flow reactor for 100 h,maintaining a Faradaic efficiency of approximately 90%and an ammonia yield of 37.4 mg·L^(−1)·h^(−1)using 0.05 M nitrate alkaline *** studies reveal that the catalytic process follows a two-step pathway,in which HONO serves as a migration *** presence of a partially oxidized Ru(002)surface enhances the adsorption of nitrate and facilitates the release of the migration intermediate by adjusting the strength of the electrostatic and covalent interactions between the adsorbate and the surface,*** the other hand,the Ni(111)surface promotes the utilization of the migration intermediate and requires less energy for NH_(3)*** tandem process contributes to a high catalytic activity of Ru-Ni NSs towards nitrate reduction.
