Hydrogen exhibits the potential to treat Alzheimer's disease. Stereotactic injection has been previously used as an invasive method of administering active hydrogen, but this method has limitations in clinical practice. In this study, triple transgenic(3×Tg) Alzheimer's disease mice were treated with hydrogen-rich water for 7 months. The results showed that hydrogen-rich water prevented synaptic loss and neuronal death, inhibited senile plaques, and reduced hyperphosphorylated tau and neurofibrillary tangles in 3×Tg Alzheimer's disease mice. In addition, hydrogen-rich water improved brain energy metabolism disorders and intestinal flora imbalances and reduced inflammatory reactions. These findings suggest that hydrogen-rich water is an effective hydrogen donor that can treat Alzheimer's disease. This study was approved by the Animal Ethics and Welfare Committee of Shenzhen University, China(approval No. AEWC-20140615-002) on June 15, 2014.

A series of Ca10Na(PO4)7:Ce3+/Tb3+/Mn2+(CNPO:Ce3+/Tb3+/Mn2+) phosphors with high brightness were synthesized by high-temperature solid-state method. X-ray diffraction(XRD), scanning electron microscopy(SEM), diffuse reflectance spectra(DRS), photo luminescence(PL) spectra, luminescence decay curves and thermally stability were performed to characterize the as-prepared samples. For Ce3+-doped samples, an intense and broad band emission is present under 265 nm excitation. When Ce3+and Tb3+are codoped, energy transfer(ET) process from Ce3+ to Tb3+ is demonstrated with electric dipole-dipole interaction. The internal and external quantum efficiencies(QEs) of CNPO:0.15 Ce3+, 0.04 Tb3+, 0.005 Mn2+are measured to 76.79% and 54.11% under 265 nm excitation and temperature-dependent PL intensity can remain 51.78% at 150 ℃ of its initial intensity at 25 ℃. It is indicated that single-phased white lightemitting CNPO:Ce3+/Tb3+/Mn2+phosphor can serve as a promising phosphor for illumination devices.

A series of SBA-15 supported bimetallic Rh–Ni catalysts with different weight ratio of Rh/Ni in the range of 0–0.04 were prepared for carbon dioxide reforming of methane. The doping effect of Rh on catalytic activity as well as carbon accumulation and removal over the catalysts was studied. The characterization results indicated that the addition of a small amount of Rh promoted the reducibility of Ni particles and decreased the Ni particle size. During the dry reforming reaction, the carbon deposition was originated from CH4 decomposition and CO disproportionation. The Rh–Ni catalyst with small metallic particle size inhibited the carbon formation and exhibited high efficiency in the removal of coke. In comparison with bare Ni-based catalyst, the Rh–Ni bimetallic catalysts showed high activity and stability in the dry reforming of methane.

Objective:To evaluate whether preimplantation genetic testing for aneuploidy(PGT-A)with comprehensive chromosome screening increases live birth rate(LBR)in normal karyotype couples with recurrent pregnancy loss(RPL).Methods:A retrospective cohort follow-up study of 506 couples with RPL was conducted between April 2014 and March 2017.Couples were allocated to two groups according to their decision to choose PGT-A or not.The primary outcome was LBR per start/transfer cycle;secondary outcomes were ongoing pregnancy rate and miscarriage rate.Statistical analyses were conducted using univariate and multivariate logistic regression models adjusted for maternal age.Results:LBR per start(26.6%vs.15.4%,relative risk[RR]:2.66,95%confidence interval[CI][1.69-4.20],P<0.0001;adjusted RR[aRR]:2.40,95%CI[1.49-3.86],P=0.0004)and per transfer(44.9%vs.25.1%,RR:3.00,95%CI[1.96-4.60],P<0.0001;aRR:2.64,95%CI[1.68-4.14],P<0.0001)was significantly higher in the PGT-A group than in the non-PGT-A group.The miscarriage rate was significantly lower in the PGT-A group compared to the non-PGT-A group(15.7%vs.34.6%,RR:0.27,95%CI[0.13-0.57],P=0.00005;aRR:0.26,95%CI[0.12-0.57],P=0.0007).Conclusions:LBR per start cycle following PGT-A is significantly higher,and risk of miscarriage is significantly lower among infertile couples with RPL,irrespective of maternal age.PGT-A should be recommended to infertile couples with RPL.

针对数据中心网络流量大小分布不均匀、传输性能需求不相同的特征,提出了面向传统树型数据中心网络结构的软件定义混合路由机制SHR(software-defined hybrid routing)。SHR通过统计计算将数据流分为大流和小流,为满足其不同的传输性能需求,对大流采用自适应路由算法,对小流采用流量无视路由算法。SHR在Open Flow机制的基础上,将部分控制权从控制器下放至交换机,以减轻网络的额外负载。在Fat-Tree网络拓扑结构上建立流量模型进行性能分析与仿真实验,结果表明,与传统的等价多路径转发ECMP算法相比,SHR能够提高网络吞吐量,降低数据流丢弃率和分组端到端时延,同时减轻网络的额外负载。

Introduction Chlamydia trachomatis(CT)and Neisseria gonorrhoeae(NG)infections are the most prevalent sexually transmitted infections among adults globally,1 and most commonly cause urogenital infections but also ocular infections,which often occur in newborns but rarely in adults.We herein report such a case of adult conjunctivitis caused by CT and NG coinfection.

Urothelial carcinoma(UC)is a common malignant tumor in the urinary system with high recurrence rate and low survival rate 5 years after surgery.At present,imaging examination and other diagnostic methods have some shortcomings such as invasiveness and non-specificity.Therefore,it is urgent to develop a simple,rapid,noninvasive,highly sensitive and highly specific strategy to diagnose UC.Herein,a high-performance fluorescence sensor was constructed by the plasmonic gold nanorods(AuNRs)-enhanced near-infrared(NIR)fluorescence of silver sulfide quantum dots(Ag_(2)S QDs).The designed sensor can be used for the fast and accurate detection of small molecule single-transmembrane protein(FXYD3),which is overexpressed in 90%of ureteral cancers and 84%of high-grade bladder cancers.Due to its high specificity,the NIR fluorescence sensor achieves the detection of FXYD3 in the range of 0.25-150 ng·ml^(-1)with a detection limit of 0.2 ng·ml^(-1).Importantly,it also can be used for accurate diagnosis of FXYD3 in the urine of patients with relevant cancers,and the results are consistent with clinical cystoscopy and pathological analysis.The proposed fluorescence sensor provides a simple,ultrasensitive,reliable method for UC screening,tumor-grade classification and postoperative monitoring and will have great potential for clinical applications.

Objective:The hyperactivated neddylation pathway plays an important role in tumorigenesis and is emerging as a promising anticancer target.We aimed to study whether NEDD8(neural precursor cell expressed,developmentally down-regulated 8)might serve as a therapeutic target in esophageal squamous cell carcinoma(ESCC).Methods:The clinical relevance of NEDD8 expression was evaluated by using The Cancer Genome Atlas(TCGA)database and tissue arrays.NEDD8-knockdown ESCC cells generated with the CRISPR/Cas9 system were used to explore the anticancer effects and mechanisms.Quantitative proteomic analysis was used to examine the variations in NEDD8 knockdown-induced biological pathways.The cell cycle and apoptosis were assessed with fluorescence activated cell sorting.A subcutaneous-transplantation mouse tumor model was established to investigate the anticancer potential of NEDD8 silencing in vivo.Results:NEDD8 was upregulated at both the mRNA and protein expression levels in ESCC,and NEDD8 overexpression was associated with poorer overall patient survival(mRNA level:P=0.028,protein level:P=0.026,log-rank test).Downregulation of NEDD8 significantly suppressed tumor growth both in vitro and in vivo.Quantitative proteomic analysis revealed that downregulation of NEDD8 induced cell cycle arrest,DNA damage,and apoptosis in ESCC cells.Mechanistic studies demonstrated that NEDD8 knockdown led to the accumulation of cullin-RING E3 ubiquitin ligases(CRLs)substrates through inactivation of CRLs,thus suppressing the malignant phenotype by inducing cell cycle arrest and apoptosis in ESCC.Rescue experiments demonstrated that the induction of apoptosis after NEDD8 silencing was attenuated by DR5 knockdown.Conclusions:Our study elucidated the anti-ESCC effects and underlying mechanisms of NEDD8 knockdown,and validated NEDD8 as a potential target for ESCC therapy.
