Influence of particulate morphology on microstructure and tribological properties of cold sprayed A380/Al2O3 composite coatings

In this study,three kinds of A380/Al2O3 composite coatings were prepared by cold spray(CS)using spherical,irregular and spherical+irregular shaped Al2O3 particulates separately mixed in the original A380 alloy *** influence of Al2O3 particulates’morphology on the microstructural characteristics(*** of Al2O3 content in coatings,coating/matrix interfacial bonding,pore size distribution and morphology etc.)and wear performance of the coatings was investigated by scanning electron microscopy(SEM),X-ray computed tomography(XCT)and 3-D optical *** indicated that the spherical Al2O3 showsobvious tamping effect during deposition *** a result,the interfaceshowedawavy shape while the matrix and particulates were mechanical interlocked with much improved *** addition,the porosity of the coating was minimized and the pores exhibited curved spherical structure with reduced *** irregular Al2O3 particles predominantly displayed the embedding effect together with fragmentation of Al2O3 ***,poor coating/matrix interfacial bonding,high porosity and the formation of angular-shaped pores were resulted in the *** sliding wear tests results revealed that the wear resistance of the coating is directly related with the retained content of Al2O3 in the *** coating containing irregular Al2O3 particulates displayed superior wear performance with its wear rate one seventh of that of the pure A380 alloy *** coating containing both kinds of Al2O3 particulates showed mixed characteristics of above two kinds of Al2O3 composite coatings.

Major and Trace Elements of Magnetite from the Qimantag Metallogenic Belt: Insights into Evolution of Ore–forming Fluids

Magnetite, as a genetic indicator of ores, has been studied in various deposits in the world. In this paper, we present textural and compositional data of magnetite from the Qimantag metallogenic belt of the Kunlun Orogenic Belt in China, to provide a better understanding of the formation mechanism and genesis of the metallogenic belt and to shed light on analytical protocols for the in situ chemical analysis of magnetite. Magnetite samples from various occurrences, including the ore-related granitoid pluton, mineralised endoskarn and vein-type iron ores hosted in marine carbonate intruded by the pluton, were examined using scanning electron microscopy and analysed for major and trace elements using electron microprobe and laser ablation-inductively coupled plasma-mass spectrometry. The field and microscope observation reveals that early-stage magnetite from the Hutouya and Kendekeke deposits occurs as massive or banded assemblages, whereas late- stage magnetite is disseminated or scattered in the ores. Early-stage magnetite contains high contents of Ti, V, Ga, AI and low in Mg and Mn. In contrast, late-stage magnetite is high in Mg, Mn and low in Ti, V, Ga, AI. Most magnetite grains from the Qimantag metallogenic belt deposits except the Kendekeke deposit plot in the ＂ Skarn ＂ field in the Ca＋AI＋Mn vs Ti＋V diagram, far from typical magmatic Fe deposits such as the Damiao and Panzhihua deposits. According to the （MgO＋MnO）- TiO^-AI203 diagram, magnetite grains from the Kaerqueka and Galingge deposits and the No.7 ore body of the Hutouya deposit show typical characteristics of skarn magnetite, whereas magnetite grains from the Kendekeke deposit and the No.2 ore body of the Hutouya deposit show continuous elemental variation from magmatic type to skarn type. This compositional contrast indicates that chemical composition of magnetite is largely controlled by the compositions of magmatic fluids and host rocks of the ores that have reacted with the fluids. The horizontal migration of proppant was numerically investigated with a two-fluid model, in which the interaction between fracturing fluid and proppant, along with that among proppants was taken into account through interphase forces. The migration process and the volumetric concentration of the proppant were examined under various conditions, and the averaged volumetric concentration of the proppant was obtained. The present research might be useful in the process design of the hydraulic fracturing in the oilfields.

Laguerre Series Expansion for Scale Functions and Its Applications in Risk Theory

We propose an exact explicit closed-form Laguerre series expansion formula to compute the q-scale function of a spectrally negative L′evy process (SNLP), and other functions associated to the scale function for the first time. The proposed closed-form formula for the scale function has many applications in applied probability and in particular in the Le′vy insurance risk theory. We shall show that the new series expansion formulas can be used to express the expected discounted penalty functions, the moments of the present value of total dividend payments as well as the time value of Parisian ruin in the L′evy risk models.

Plant community dynamics during the growing season of typical ecosystems on the Tibetan Plateau

The relationships between vegetation and environmental factors have always been a core concern of *** dynamic characteristics of plant communities during the growing season can directly reflect these relation-ships,so we examined this issue for three typical ecosystems on the Tibetan *** the growing season,the dominant species remained stable while non-dominant species changed significantly in the alpine meadow and alpine steppe and a mono-dominant community was found in the temperate desert *** to the seasonal variations of temperature and soil water content,plant species diversity varied significantly during the growing *** richness,Pielou evenness and Simpson diversity indices differed significantly in the alpine meadow and alpine *** total biomass of these three ecosystems was the largest during the middle growing *** was greater in the alpine meadow than the alpine steeps or temperature *** root-to-shoot ratio was the lowest during the middle growing season for the alpine meadow and alpine steppe and largest during the early growing season for temperate desert *** showed the belowground and total biomass were greatly affected by soil physicochemical *** linear stepwise regression showed the above ground biomass was greatly affected by relative atmospheric humidity and belowground and total biomass were greatly affected by soil organic carbon,total nitrogen at 0-20 cm soil depth and pH at 10-20 cm soil *** findings pro-vide insights into understanding the relationships between vegetation and environmental factors and promote the sustainable utilization of local grasslands on the Tibetan Plateau.
