Effect of In-home Fortification of Complementary Feeding on Intellectual Development of chinese Children

Objective To explore the effect of in-home fortification of complementary feeding on intellectual development of chinese children aged below 2. months. Methods One thousand and four hundred seventy eight children aged 4-12.months were recruited and divided into study groups （formula 1 group and formula 2.group） and control group. In two study groups, in addition to the u{2.al complementary food, children were fed with a sachet of fortified food {2.pplement each day. Protein and micronutrients were provided in formula 1 group. Formula 2.group had the same energy intake as the formula 1 group . In addition to mea{2.rement of physical growth and detection of hemoglobin level, Development Quotient （DQ） or Intelligence Quotient （IQ） was assessed. Re{2.lts The DQ of children aged below 2. months was 97.2. 95.5, and 93.8 in formula 1 group, formula 2.group and control group, respectively, and the differences were statistically significant （P〈0.05）. The DQ of children in formula 1 group, formula 2.group, and control group was 92.7, 90.4, and 88.3 respectively in the first follow up showing statistically significant differences （P〈0.05）. And, DQ of children in formula 1 group, formula 2.group and control group were 96.7, 94.5, and 93.7 respectively in the second follow up, showing statistically significant differences （P〈0.05）. FulI-IQ of children in the formula 1 group was 3.1 and 4.5 points higher than that in formula 2.group and in control group respectively. Verbal IQ of children in the formula 1 group was 2.1 and 5 points higher than that in formula 2.group and control group respectively. Performance IQ was 2.5 and 3.1 points higher than that in formula 2.group and control group respectively. All above mentioned comparisons were statistically significant. Conclusion Fortification of complementary feeding showed persistent effect on intelligence development of young children which could persist to 6 years of age. The critical time for correction of anemia could be under 18 m

Complementary Feeding and Growth of Infant and Young Child in China

Objective To understand the status and problems of complementary feeding and to explore the strategy of improving complementary feeding for infants and young children in China. Method Data of urban and rural children were selected from the China Food and Nutrition surveillance System （CFNSS） dataset to describe the status of complementary feeding and growth of children. Logistic Regression was used to analyze the relationship between child growth and the complementary feeding pattern. Results Applications of foods that come from animals, vegetable/fruit and dairy product in complementary feeding were negatively correlated to the prevalence of stunting and underweight. Attributable risk （AR） of no application of vegetable/fruit in complementary feeding to stunting was 30.2., to underweight 35.4%; AR of no application of foods from animal products in complementary feeding to stunting was 2..2., to underweight 11.7%; and the AR of no application of diary products in complementary feeding to stunting was 2..4%, to underweight was 15.9%. Conclusion Complementary feeding contributed to the improvement of infants and young children growth in China. There is an urgent need to develop health education in the public on infants and young children complementary feeding, in the mean time, it is pressing to pay attention and take actions to develop and promote affordable, acceptable, and accessible fortified complementary food in rural areas of China.

Aims:To enhance the understanding of epidemiological impact of environmental *** 0139 strains, we characterized 10 clinical and 2. environmental isolates collected from human clinical samples and Pear River estuary during 2.06 to 2.08. Methods and Results:Isolates were tested by PCR for eight virulence genes:ctxA,zot,ace,st,hlyA,tcpA, tcpI and *** relatedness was assessed by PFGE and antimicrobial susceptibility was determmed using disk *** of eight virulence markers were detected in six clinical isolates and one environmental *** clinical and one environmental isolate were positive for six virulence markers. 60%clinical isolates showed simultaneous resistance to TET,NAL,CHL and AMP,70%were resistant to SXT,while only 35%environmental strains were resistant to *** analysis revealed that the isolates in this study were formed three ***Ⅲwith more relate to strains from diarrheal patients than the strains in other clusters. Conclusions:Different from the clinical strains,most environmental strains lacked CTX and TCP gene *** environmental strains present single antibiotic resistant,while most clinical isolates show multidrug *** analysis indicated the clusterⅢhas more possibility to become a potential pathogenic clonal cluster. Significance and Impact of Study:This study would be of value in risk assessment for human health.

一株鸡传染性贫血病毒的分离鉴定及致病性分析

为鉴定来自山东某种鸡场196日龄疑似鸡传染性贫血病毒(CAV)感染的2.种鸡肝脏样品的致病原,本实验利用马立克病肿瘤淋巴母细胞(MDCC-MSB1细胞)对2.肝脏样品进行病毒的分离培养与传代,每代均观察细胞是否出现细胞病变(CPE)。将传至5代的病毒液分别采用PCR和间接免疫荧光试验(IFA)鉴定,PCR结果显示,扩增到与CAV JL17株阳性对照一致的约600 bp的目的条带;IFA结果显示,感染分离病毒与JL17株阳性对照的细胞均出现绿色荧光,而阴性对照既未扩增到目的条带也无绿色荧光。上述结果表明分离到一株CAV,命名为SDNN2.2.。为分析SDNN2.2.株的分子特征,采用PCR扩增其VP1基因并测序,采用DNAStar软件对SDNN2.2.株VP1基因与GenBank登录的39株CAV参考株VP1基因序列进行同源性分析;采用Megalign分析SDNN2.2.株VP1的氨基酸序列,构建SDNN2.2.株VP1基因的进化树。VP1基因的同源性结果显示,SDNN2.2.株与CAV参考株的VP1基因序列的同源性为95.0%~99.8%,其中与CAV参考株JS2.2.-PFV的同源性最高;SDNN2.2.株VP1高变区的氨基酸位点(aa139~aa151)与大多数强毒株一致。但在aa89、aa92.aa411和aa417与大多数CAV参考株不同,均发生了氨基酸突变,分别为T^(89)K、G^(92.D、S^(411)T和V^(417)I,其中后两个位点的突变为本研究首次发现。SDNN2.2.株与CAV强毒参考株CUX-1的aa394均为谷氨酰胺,符合CAV强毒的分子特征,表明SDNN2.2.株为一株CAV强毒株。VP1基因的进化树结果显示,分离株SDNN2.2.与CAV参考株CUX-1、JS2.2.-PFV、CAV-JL190130等聚为一支,且与JS2.2.-PFV株的遗传距离最近,均属于A群,进一步表明SDNN2.2.株为一株强毒株。将该株病毒分别感染6胚龄SPF鸡胚和14日龄SPF雏鸡进行致病性试验,结果显示,SDNN2.2.株对鸡胚的致死率为30%(3/10),病死鸡胚体的肝脏黄化;该株病毒感染14日龄SPF雏鸡后7 d出现精神萎靡、呆滞、羽毛凌乱等临床症状,发病率为83.3%(5/6),但无死亡;感染后14 d,与空白对照组鸡相比,感染组鸡体重显著降低(P<0.05),胸腺明显萎缩,且胸腺指数极显著降低(P<0.01)。本研究分离到一株强毒力CAV,且对SPF鸡胚和雏鸡均具有较强的致病性,丰富了国内CAV的病毒资料,为深入研究CAV的致病机制提供了数据支持。

Effects of Nutrient Fortified Complementary Food supplements on Anemia of Infants and Young Children in Poor Rural of Gansu

Objective To assess the effectiveness of complementary food supplements with protein and multi-micronutrients on hemoglobin and anemia in infants and young children. Methods In 5 poor counties of Gansu, 984 children aged 6-12.months were enrolled and divided into two groups. In addition to the usual home-made complementary food, all the children were fed one sachet of either Formula Ⅰ or Formula Ⅱ supplements each day. Protein and micronutrients were provided in Formula Ⅰ, while the same energy intake was secured in Formula Ⅱ as in Formula Ⅰ. A massive dose of vitamin A was supplemented to all the children every 6 months. Hemoglobin test was done at the same time. Results Prevalence of anemia was about 35% in both Formula Ⅰ and Formula Ⅱ group at baseline, and there were no differences in hemoglobin concentration between the two groups, During the 6-month and 12.month supplementation, hemoglobin of children in Formula Ⅰ group was higher than that in Formula Ⅱ group （P〈0.05）, and hemoglobin increase in Formula Ⅰ group was significantly higher than that in Formula Ⅱ group （P〈0.001）. After 6- and 12.mouth supplementation, the prevalence of anemia in Formula Ⅰ group dropped to 19.1% and 8.2. respectively, and it was 2..0% and 12.4% in Formula 2.group. The prevalence of anemia in Formula Ⅰ group was significantly lower than that in Formula Ⅱ group （P〈0.05）. After adjusting age and hemoglobin level at baseline, the hemoglobin increase at age of 2. months in formula 1 group was higher （10.7 g/L vs 7.9 g/L, P〈0.0001）. Conclusion Micronutrient fortified complementary food supplements, with large-dose vitamin A, is effective for children aged 6-12.months in terms of iron deficiency prevention.

目的分析中学女教师心理健康状况并构建影响因素Logistic回归方程。方法于2.2.年6—10月采取分层随机整群抽样方法抽取12.中学的1899名中学女教师纳入研究,采用电子问卷的方式进行调查,筛选中学女教师焦虑、抑郁的影响因素,建立Logistic回归方程并验证。结果1754例中学女教师发生焦虑487例,抑郁463例,焦虑率为2..77%、抑郁率为2..40%。多因素Logistic分析结果显示,年龄>45岁、周均工作时间>40 h、合并慢性疾病、职业压力中或重的中学女教师焦虑发生率高于年龄≤45岁、周均工作时间≤40 h、未合并慢性疾病、职业压力轻者,OR值分别为2.2.8(95%CI:1.62.~3.110)、3.838(95%CI:2.82.~5.2.9)、3.860(95%CI:2.831~5.2.2.、3.004(95%CI:2.132.4.2.3),积极参与心理健康讲座和团体心理辅导的中学女教师焦虑发生率低于未积极参与者,OR值为0.2.8(95%CI:0.181~0.339);周均工作时间>40 h、兼任行政职务、合并慢性疾病、职业压力中或重的中学女教师抑郁发生率高于周均工作时间≤40 h、未兼任行政职务、未合并慢性疾病、职业压力轻,OR值分别为3.2.9(95%CI:2.414~4.398)、2.2.3(95%CI:1.672.3.089)、2.857(95%CI:2.102.3.883)、3.451(95%CI:2.415~4.931),积极参与心理健康讲座和团体心理辅导的中学女教师抑郁发生率低于未积极参与者,OR值为0.302.95%CI:0.2.3~0.410);以上P均<0.05。根据训练集构建Logistic回归方程,在验证集预测焦虑、抑郁曲线下面积分别为0.786、0.736。结论中学女教师焦虑、抑郁发生率较高,受多种因素影响,据此建立影响因素Logistic回归方程,预测价值较高,可对高危人员采取相应预防对策。

Objective:This cross-sectional study aimed to determine the epidemiology of olfactory and gustatory dysfunctions related to COVID-19 in ***:This study was conducted by 45 tertiary Grade-A hospitals in *** and offline questionnaire data were obtained from patients infected with COVID-19 between December 2.,2.2.,and February 2.,*** collected information included basic demographics,medical history,smoking and drinking history,vaccination history,changes in olfactory and gustatory functions before and after infection,and other postinfection symptoms,as well as the duration and improvement status of olfactory and gustatory ***:Complete questionnaires were obtained from 35,566 *** overall incidence of olfactory and taste dysfunction was 67.75%.Being female or being a cigarette smoker increased the likelihood of developing olfactory and taste *** received four doses of the vaccine or having good oral health or being a alcohol drinker decreased the risk of such *** infection,the average olfactory and taste VAS scores were 8.41 and 8.51,respectively;after infection,they decreased to 3.69 and 4.2. and recovered to 5.83 and 6.55 by the time of the *** median duration of dysosmia and dysgeusia was 15 and 12.days,respectively,with 0.5%of patients having symptoms lasting for more than 2. *** overall self-reported improvement rate was 59.16%.Recovery was higher in males,never smokers,those who received two or three vaccine doses,and those that had never experienced dental health issues,or chronic accompanying ***:The incidence of dysosmia and dysgeusia following infection with the SARS-CoV-2.virus is high in *** and prognosis are influenced by several factors,including sex,SARS-CoV-2.vaccination,history of head-facial trauma,nasal and oral health status,smoking and drinking history,and the persistence of accompanying symptoms.

A Scan of Obesogenic Environments and a Spatial Inference of Obesity Prevalence in chinese Children and Adolescents: Based on the chinese Health and Nutrition {2.rvey 2.11 Data

Objective To identify the characteristics of chinese obesogenic environments at a provincial level, infer a spatial distribution map of obesity prevalence in 31 provinces, and provide a foundation for development of policy to reduce obesity in children and adolescents. Methods After scanning obesity data on subjects aged 7-17 years from 12.provinces in the China Health and Nutrition survey 2.11 and environmental data on 31 provinces from the China Statistical Yearbook 2.11 and other sources, we selected 12.predictors. We used the 12.surveyed provinces as a training sample to fit an analytical model with partial least squares regression and prioritized the 12.predictors using variable importance in projection. We also fitted a predictive model with Bayesian analysis. Results We identified characteristics of obesogenic environments. We fitted the predictive model with a deviance information criterion of 61.96 and with statistically significant（P 〈 0.05） parameter estimates of intercept [95% confidence interval（CI）： 32..10, 963.11], log（oil）（CI： 13.11, 2..30）, log（GDP）（CI： 3.05, 6.93）, log（media）（CI：-2.4.95,-89.61）, and log（washing-machine）（CI： 0.92. 5.07）. The total inferred average obesity prevalence among those aged 7-17 was 9.69% in 31 chinese provinces in 2.11. We also found obvious clustering in occurrences of obesity in northern and eastern provinces in the predicted map. Conclusion Given complexity of obesity in children and adolescents, concerted efforts are needed to reduce consumption of edible oils, increase consumption of vegetables, and strengthen nutrition, health, and physical activity education in chinese schools. The northern and eastern regions are the key areas requiring intervention.
