Optical characterization of defects in narrow-gap HgCdTe for infrared detector applications

Narrow-gap Hg_(1-x)Cd_x Te material with a composition x of about 0.3 plays an extremely important role in mid-infrared detection applications. In this work, the optical properties of doped HgCdTe with x ≈ 0.3 are reviewed, including the defects and defect levels of intrinsic V_(Hg) and the extrinsic amphoteric arsenic(As) dopants, which can act as shallow/deep donors and acceptors. The influence of the defects on the determination of band-edge electronic structure is discussed when absorption or photoluminescence spectra are considered. The inconsistency between these two optical techniques is demonstrated and analyzed by taking into account the Fermi level position as a function of composition, doping level,conductivity type, and temperature. The defect level and its evolution, especially in As-doped HgCdTe, are presented. Our results provide a systematic understanding of the mechanisms and help for optimizing annealing conditions towards p-type As-activation, and eventually for fabricating high performance mid-infrared detectors.

We have calculated the potential energy surfaces for ^(240)Pu up to the scission point using the density functional theory with different pairing strengths to investigate the effect of pairing correlations on its fission *** enhancement in the pairing correlations lowers the barrier heights,isomeric state,and ridge between the symmetric and asymmetric fission valleys ***,it weakens the microscopic shell structure around the Fermi surface,shrinks the scission frontiers,especially for the symmetric and very asymmetric fission regions,and lifts the total kinetic energies(TKEs)for the symmetric fission *** is also emphasized that the microscopic calculation qualitatively reproduces the trend of the distribution of the measured TKEs,especially for the positions of the peaks at A_(frag)≈132 and A_(frag)≈108.

In this study,we developed a novel on-line solid phase extraction(SPE)-ultra-high-performance liquid chromatography tandem mass spectrometry(UHPLC-MS/MS)-based analytical method for simultaneously quantifying 12 illicit drugs and metabolites(methamphetamine,amphetamine,morphine,codeine,6-monoacetylmorphine,benzoylecgonine,3,4-methylenedioxymethamphetamine,3,4-methylenedioxyamphetamine,cocaine,ketamine,norketamine,and methcathinone)and cotinine(COT)in wastewater *** analysis was performed by loading 2 m L of the sample onto an Oasis hydrophilic-lipophilic balance cartridge and using a cleanup step(5%methanol)to eliminate interference with a total run time of 13 *** isotope-labeled internal standard method was used to quantify the target substances and correct for unavoidable losses and matrix effects during the on-line SPE *** analytical characteristics used for method validation were sensitivity,linearity,precision,repeatability,recovery,and matrix *** limit of detection(LOD)and limit of quantification(LOQ)of each target were set at 0.20 ng/L and 0.50 ng/L,*** linearity was between 0.5 ng/L and250 ng/L,except for that of *** intra-and inter-day precisions weresults were compared with the experimental results of identical samples analyzed using off-line *** difference rate was between 19.91%and-20.44%,and the error range could be considered *** findings showed that on-line SPE is a suitable alternative to off-line SPE for the analysis of illicit drugs in samples.

Objective:To provide guidelines for the prevention of post-stroke dementia,we investigated whether stroke patients were aware of post-stroke dementia and their level of dementia-related ***:Five dementia-related questions were designed.A field survey was conducted in a questionand-answer method using the designed *** surveys assessed 3000 stroke patients(2 weekse6 months after stroke attacks)from 14 hospitals/clinical centers in 7 provinces and cities across ***:Among 3000 stroke patients,80.5%had heard of dementia,39.1%knew that stroke can lead to dementia,55.7%believed dementia can be prevented,50.8%thought dementia can be cured,and only 8.8%had ever seen a doctor because of memory ***,patients were classified into three groups,including a no cognitive impairment(NCI)group,a mild cognitive impairment(MCI)group,and a mild dementia(MD)*** the MCI and MD groups,only 8.7%(75/861)and 9.9%(64/649)of patients,respectively,had ever seen a doctor because of memory *** to our results,patients with a higher level of cognitive impairment had a lower awareness of dementia(Psultation rate is even ***,patients with a higher level of cognitive impairment have a lower awareness of *** improve public awareness and improve prevention,more emphasis should be put on education regarding post-stroke *** cognitive function screening should be conducted on stroke patients as an effective way to assess dementia.

Improving the cycling stability of metal sulfide-based anode materials at high rate is of great significance for advanced sodium ion ***,the sluggish reaction kinetics is a big obstacle for the development of high-performance sodium storage ***,we have rationally engineered the heterointerface by designing the Fe1?xS/MoS2 heterostructure with abundant“ion reservoir”to endow the electrode with excellent cycling stability and rate capability,which is proved by a series of in and ex situ electrochemical *** functional theory calculations further reveal that the heterointerface greatly decreases sodium ion diffusion barrier and facilitates charge-transfer *** present findings not only provide a deep analysis on the correlation between the structure and performance,but also draw inspiration for rational heterointerface engineering toward the next-generation high-performance energy storage devices.

This paper reviews the major progress on development of the science and prediction of heavy rainfall over China since the beginning of the reform and opening-up of new China(roughly between 1980 and 2019).The progress of research on the physical mechanisms of heavy rainfall over China is summarized from three perspectives:1)the relevant synoptic weather systems,2)heavy rainfall in major sub-regions of China,and 3)heavy rainfall induced by *** development and application of forecasting techniques for heavy rainfall are summarized in terms of numerical weather prediction techniques and objective forecasting *** aided by the rapid progress in meteorological observing technology and substantial improvement in electronic computing,studies of heavy rainfall in China have advanced to investigating the evolution of heavy-rain-producing storms and observational analysis of the cloud microphysical features.A deeper and more systematic understanding of the synoptic systems of importance to the production of heavy rainfall has also been *** forecast of heavy rainfall in China has changed from subjective weather event forecasts to a combination of both subjective and objective quantitative precipitation forecasts,and is now advancing toward probabilistic quantitative precipitation forecasts with the provision of forecast uncertainty information.

The land-atmosphere energy and turbulence exchange is key to understanding land surface processes on the Tibetan Plateau(TP). Using observed data for Aug. 4 to Dec. 3, 2012 from the Bujiao observation point(BJ) of the Nagqu Plateau Climate and Environment Station(NPCE-BJ), different characteristics of the energy flux during the Asian summer monsoon(ASM) season and post-monsoon period were analyzed. This study outlines the impact of the ASM on energy fluxes in the central TP. It also demonstrates that the surface energy closure rate during the ASM season is higher than that of the post-monsoon period. Footprint modeling shows the distribution of data quality assessments(QA) and quality controls(QC) surrounding the observation point. The measured turbulent flux data at the NPCE-BJ site were highly representative of the target land-use type. The target surface contributed more to the fluxes under unstable conditions than under stable conditions. The main wind directions(180° and 210°) with the highest data density showed flux contributions reaching 100%, even under stable conditions. The lowest flux contributions were found in sectors with low data density, e.g., 90.4% in the 360° sector under stable conditions during the ASM season. Lastly, a surface energy water balance(SEWAB) model was used to gap-fill any absent or corrected turbulence data. The potential simulation error was also explored in this study. The Nash-sutcliffe model efficiency coefficients(NSEs) of the observed fluxes with the SEWAB model runs were 0.78 for sensible heat flux and 0.63 for latent heat flux during the ASM season, but unrealistic values of-0.9 for latent heat flux during the post-monsoon period.

AIM:To investigate the prevalence and risk factors of age-related cataract(ARC),ARC surgery procedures,and postoperative vision results among adults over 50 years old in the Binhu District of Wuxi City,***:Thirty basic sampling units were analyzed via a cluster random sampling *** medical histories were collected and eye examinations were *** prevalence and surgical procedures were ***:Among the 6150 participants,1421 cataract cases were diagnosed and prevalence was 23.1%.The prevalence of cortical,nuclear,and posterior subcapsular cataracts increased with age(Psurgeries gradually decreased,but without statistical significance within groups(P>0.05).The odds ratio of cataract patients who had or did not have cataract surgery was 3.15(87/28)and the frequency of cataract blindness surgery was 75.7%(87/115).Poor visual outcomes was in 107 eyes(40.7%)after cataract *** vision was mostly caused by uncorrected reflective errors(30.9%)and ocular comorbidities(41.1%).The prevalence of cataract surgery complications was 5.7%(15/263).surgical complications and posterior capsular opacification were avoidable factors facilitating poor ***:ARC,especially in females and illiterateindividuals,presents a public health problem in this *** visual outcomes after cataract surgery are ***-quality cataract surgeries and treatment of ocular comorbidities are vital.

Sesame is one of the eight major allergens that cause food allergies. Study of the epitopes of sesame allergens is important for understanding their sensitization mechanisms. Currently， less information is available on the epitope studies of sesame allergens. In this study， we analyzed the molecular characteristics， structure and homology of Ses i 3， one of the important sesame allergens. We predicted the B-cell linear epitopes of Ses i 3 using bioinformatics tools and characterized them by slot blot immuno-microarrays technology. Eight peptides as B-cell linear epitopes of Ses i 3 were identified， in addition， key amino acids in these epitopes were predicted and leucine 422 was identified as a key amino acid. The present work will contribute to further understanding of the sesame allergen and provide some help in the prevention and treatment of sesame allergy.
