Removal of uranium(VI)from nuclear wastewater is urgent due to the global nuclear energy *** study synthesized novel sponge-like 3D porous materials for enhanced uranium adsorption by combining electrospinning and fibrous freeze-shaping *** materials possessed an organic-inorganic hybrid architecture based on the electrospun fibers of polyacrylonitrile(PAN)and SiO_(2).As a sup-porting material,the surface of fibrous SiO_(2) could be further functionalized by cyano groups via(3-cyanopropyl)*** the cyano groups were turned into amidoxime(AO)groups to obtain a amidoxime-functionalized sponge(PAO/SiO_(2)-AO)through the subsequent ami-doximation *** proposed sponge exhibited enhanced uranium adsorption performance with a high removal capacity of 367.12 mg/g,a large adsorption coefficient of 4.0×10^(4)mL/g,and a high removal efficiency of 97.59%.The UO_(2)^(2+)adsorption kinetics perfectly conformed to the pseudo-second-order *** sorbent also exhibited an excellent selectivity for UO_(2)^(2+) with other interfering metal ions.2023 Hohai *** and hosting by Elsevier B.V.

The present study modified potato protein and flour with tyrosinase to promote the diversification of potato staple *** results indicated that tyrosinase treatment markedly altered the secondary structure of *** tyrosinase treatment,the maximum decomposition temperature of potato protein and flour increased from 322.32 to 332.40℃ and from 294.24 to 299.61℃,*** treatment remarkably reduced the pasting viscosity of potato flour,that is,the peak viscosity,through reducing viscosity,breakdown,final viscosity,and setback by 32.50,60.98,13.04,68.24,and 74.31%,*** contrast,tyrosinase treatment increased the shear resistance and hardness of the protein and flour gels;the maximum stress values of the protein and flour gels increased from 1.48 to 10.1% and from 6.87 to 14.8%,***,tyrosinase treatment promoted viscoelastic properties and structural stability of potato protein and *** results may provide an important foundation for the development of novel potato staple foods.

We investigated erosion-corrosion(E-C) and its mitigation on the internal surface of the expansion segment of N80 steel tube in a loop system using array electrode technique, weight-loss measurement, computational-fluid-dynamics simulation, and surface characterization *** results show that high E-C rates can occur at locations where there is a high flow velocity and/or a strong impact from sand particles, which results in different E-C rates at various ***, it can be expected that localized corrosion often occurs in such *** E-C rate at each location in the expansion segment can be significantly mitigated with an imidazoline derivative inhibitor, as the resulting inhibitor layer significantly impedes the electrochemical reaction ***, we found that this inhibitor layer could not effectively reduce the difference in the erosion rates at different locations on the internal surface of the expansion *** means that localized corrosion can still occur at the expansion segment despite the presence of the inhibitor.

diatoms are unicellular eukaryotic phytoplankton that account for approximately 20%of global carbon fixation and 40%of marine primary productivity;thus,they are essential for global carbon biogeochemical cycling and *** availability of ten diatom genome sequences has facilitated evolutionary,biological and ecological research over the past decade;however,a complimentary map of the diatom proteome with direct measurements of proteins and peptides is still ***,we present a proteome map of the model marine diatom Thalassiosira pseudonana using high-resolution mass spectrometry combined with a proteogenomic ***-depth proteomic profiling of three different growth phases and three nutrient-deficient samples identified 9526 proteins,accounting for~81%of the predicted protein-coding *** analysis identified 1235 novel genes,975 revised genes,104 splice variants and 234 single amino acid ***,our quantitative proteomic analysis experimentally demonstrated that a considerable number of novel genes were differentially translated under different nutrient *** findings substantially improve the genome annotation of *** and provide insights into new biological functions of *** relatively comprehensive diatom proteome catalog will complement available diatom genome and transcriptome data to advance biological and ecological research of marine diatoms.

In order to study the influence of crystal structure change due to implantation dose on the hardness and wear performance of 300M high-strength steel,samples were surface modified by Cr implantation with dosages of 5.0 × 10^16,1.5 × 10^17 and 3.0 × 10^17 ions/cm^2.X-ray diffraction method,which was already applied in studies on the microstructure of deformed and heat-treated materials,was used to study the crystal structure of the implanted steel,and the results were corrected with the hardness and wear *** solid solution strengthening effect and microstructure vary with increase in implantation *** to strong solid solution hardening of Cr,small average crystallite size and high dislocation density,the hardness and wear resistance of implanted steel with dose of 5.0 × 10^16 ions/cm^2 were found to be the highest compared with other ***,although the crystal lite size of the implanted sample with dose of 3 × 10^17 ions/cm^2 was similar to that of substrate and the dislocation density was lower than that of the substrate,its higher hardness and lower specific wear rate were due to the solid solution hardening and perhaps Cr clusters reinforcement.

BACKGROUND The efficacy of Vonoprazan-amoxicillin dual therapy(VAT)in the treatment of Helicobacter pylori(***)is *** To evaluate the efficacy of VAT in the Chinese *** This prospective,multicenter,randomized,open-label,and two-stage study was conducted at 23 centers in Fujian,China(May 2021-April 2022).***-infected patients were randomized to bismuth quadruple therapy(BQT),BQT-Vonoprazan(BQT-V),seven-day VAT(VAT-7),ten-day VAT(VAT-10),and fourteen-day VAT(VAT-14)*** primary endpoint was the *** eradication *** secondary endpoint was the frequency of adverse *** study was registered with the Chinese Clinical Trial Registry,*** In the first stage,VAT-7 and BQT-V groups were selected for early termination because less than 23 among 28 cases were *** the second stage,the eradication rates for BQT,VAT-10,and VA-14 were 80.2%[95%confidence interval(95%CI):71.4%-86.8%],93.2%(86.6%-96.7%),92.2%(85.3%-96.0%)in the intention-to-treat(ITT)analysis,and 80.9%(95%CI:71.7%-87.5%),94.0%(87.5%-97.2%),and 93.9%(87.4%-97.2%)in the per-protocol *** ITT analysis showed a higher eradication rate in the VAT-10 and VAT-14 groups than in the BQT group(P=0.022 and P=0.046,respectively).The incidence of adverse events in the VAT-10 and VAT-14 groups was lower than in the BQT group(25.27%and 13.73%vs 37.62%,respectively;Pduration of 10 or 14 days achieves a higher eradication rate than the BQT,with a more tolerable safety profile in ***-infected patients in *** XP et *** for *** eradication.
