Mild traumatic brain injury(mTBI)-induced post-traumatic headache(PTH)is a pressing public health concern and leading cause of disability *** PTH is often accompanied by neurological disorders,the exact underlying mechanism remains largely *** potential biomarkers may prompt the diagnosis and development of effective treatments for mTBI-induced *** this study,a mouse model of mTBI-induced PTH was established to investigate its effects on cerebral structure and function during short-term *** indicated that mice with mTBI-induced PTH exhibited balance deficits during the early post-injury *** kinetics revealed that variations in neurotransmitters were most prominent in the cerebellum,temporal lobe/cortex,and hippocampal regions during the early stages of ***,variations in brain functional activities and connectivity were further detected in the early stage of PTH,particularly in the cerebellum and temporal cortex,suggesting that these regions play central roles in the mechanism underlying ***,our results suggested that GABA and glutamate may serve as potential diagnostic or prognostic biomarkers for *** studies should explore the specific neural circuits involved in the regulation of PTH by the cerebellum and temporal cortex,with these two regions potentially utilized as targets for non-invasive stimulation in future clinical treatment.

We investigated the critical dynamical scalarization and descalarization of black holes within the framework of the EinsteinMaxwell-scalar theory featuring higher-order coupling *** the critical scalarization and descalarization displayed first-order phase *** examining the nonlinear dynamics near the threshold,we always observed critical solutions that are linearly unstable static scalarized black *** critical dynamical scalarization and descalarization share certain similarities with the typeⅠcritical gravitational ***,their initial configurations,critical solutions,and final outcomes differ *** provide further insights into the dynamical results,we conducted a comparative analysis involving static solutions and perturbative analysis.

Polarized electron beam production via laser wakefield acceleration in pre-polarized plasma is investigated by particlein-cell *** evolution of the electron beam polarization is studied based on the Thomas±Bargmann±Michel±Telegdi equation for the transverse and longitudinal self-injection,and the depolarization process is found to be influenced by the injection *** the case of transverse self-injection,as found typically in the bubble regime,the spin precession of the accelerated electrons is mainly influenced by the ***,in the case of longitudinal injection in the quasi-1D regime(for example,*** et al.,***.110,135002(2013)),the direction of electron spin oscillates in the laser *** the electrons move around the laser axis,the net influence of the laser field is nearly zero and the contribution of the wakefield can be ***,an ultra-short electron beam with polarization of 99%can be obtained using longitudinal self-injection.

The tree shrew(Tupaia belangeri)has long been proposed as a suitable alternative to non-human primates(NHPs)in biomedical and laboratory research due to its close evolutionary relationship with *** recent years,significant advances have facilitated tree shrew studies,including the determination of the tree shrew genome,genetic manipulation using spermatogonial stem cells,viral vector-mediated gene delivery,and mapping of the tree shrew brain ***,the limited availability of tree shrews globally remains a substantial challenge in the ***,determining the key questions best answered using tree shrews constitutes another *** shrew models have historically been used to study hepatitis B virus(HBV)and hepatitis C virus(HCV)infection,myopia,and psychosocial stress-induced depression,with more recent studies focusing on developing animal models for infectious and neurodegenerative *** these efforts,the impact of tree shrew models has not yet matched that of rodent or NHP models in biomedical *** review summarizes the prominent advancements in tree shrew research and reflects on the key biological questions addressed using this *** emphasize that intensive dedication and robust international collaboration are essential for achieving breakthroughs in tree shrew *** use of tree shrews as a unique resource is expected to gain considerable attention with the application of advanced techniques and the development of viable animal models,meeting the increasing demands of life science and biomedical research.

We theoretically investigate the frequency-nondegenerate and frequency degenerate squeezed lights with a four-wave mixing process(4WM)driven by two pump fields crossing at a small *** from a 4WM process driven by a single pump field,the refractive index of the corresponding probe field,np,can be converted to a value that is greater than 1 or less than 1 by an angle *** the new region with np1,the bandwidth of the gain is relatively large due to the slow change in the refractive index with the two-photon *** this region with an exchange of the roles of the pump and probe beams,the frequency degenerate and spatial nondegenerate twin beams can be generated,which has potential application in quantum information and quantum metrology.

Ultra-high strength yet superplasticity in a hetero-grain-sized nanocrystalline Au nanowire

Nanocrystalline metals often display a high strength up to the gigapascal level,yet they suffer from poor *** studies have shown that the development of hetero-sized grains can efficiently overcome the strength-ductility trade-off of nanocrystalline ***,whether this strategy can lead to the fabrication of nanocrystalline nanowires exhibiting both high strength and superplasticity is unclear,similar to the atomistic deformation *** this paper,we show that ultra-small nanocrystalline Au nanowires comprising grains in both the Hall–Petch and inverse Hall–Petch grain-size regions can exhibit extremely high uniform elongation(236%)and high strength(2.34 gigapascals)at room *** situ atomic-scale observations revealed that the plastic deformation underwent two *** the first stage,the super-elongation ability originated from the intergrain plasticity of small grains via mechanisms such as grain boundary migration and grain *** intergrain plasticity caused the grains in the heterogeneous-structured nanowires to grow very *** the second stage,the superelongation ability originated from intragrain plasticity accompanied by the diffusion of surface *** results show that the hetero-grain-sized nanocrystalline nanowires,comprising grains with sizes both in the strongest Hall–Petch effect region and the inverse Hall–Petch effect region,were simultaneously ultrastrong and *** displayed neither a strength-ductility trade-off nor plastic instability.
