Ammonium perchlorate(AP)is the component with the highest content in composite propellants,and it plays a crucial role in propellant *** view of the effects of low-temperature AP thermal decomposition on thermal safety and combustion characteristics,porous ammonium perchlorate(PAP)samples with different mass losses were first prepared by thermal convection heating,and the structures were characterized and ***,the effects of decomposition degree on the thermal decomposition characteristics of PAP were studied by ***,the combustion characteristics of AP/Al binary mixtures were tested with high-speed photography and in a sealed *** results showed that low-temperature decomposition of AP resulted in formation of porous structures for AP *** pores first appeared near the surfaces of the particles and began from multiple points at the same *** pores increased in size to approximately 5 mm and then expanded,and finally,the AP particles were full of *** partial decomposition,the crystal structure of AP remained unchanged,but the low and high decomposition temperatures decreased *** decomposition rate *** to the porous structure of PAP,the combustion rate of the AP/Al system increased obviously with increasing decomposition of *** relationship between the combustion rate and the mass loss was approximately linear under open conditions,and it was exponential for a high-pressure environment.A computational model of the combustion process for the AP/Al binary system was established to explain the effects of pore structure and pressure on the combustion process.

Effect of slag on oxide inclusions in carburized bearing steel during industrial electroslag remelting

Industrial experiments with three types of slags were performed to investigate the effect of slag on oxide inclusions during electroslag remelting(ESR) process. G20CrNi2Mo bearing steel was used as the consumable electrode and remelted using a 2400-kg industrial furnace. The results showed that most inclusions in the electrode were low-melting-point CaO-MgO-Al_2O_3. After ESR, all the inclusions in ingots were located outside the liquid region. When the slag consisted of 65.70 wt% CaF_2, 28.58 wt% Al_2O_3, and 4.42 wt% CaO was used, pure Al_2O_3 were the dominant inclusions in ingot, some of which presented a clear trend of agglomeration. When the ingot was remelted by a multi-component slag with 16.83 wt% CaO, a certain amount of sphere CaAl_4O_7 inclusions larger than 5 μm were generated in ingot. The slag with 8.18 wt% CaO exhibited greater capacity to control the inclusion characteristics. Thermodynamic calculations indicated that the total Ca and Mg in ingots were attributed from the relics in electrode and strongly influenced by the slag composition. The formation of ingot inclusions was calculated by FactSage^(TM) 7.0, and the results were basically in accordance with the observed inclusions, indicating that a quasi-thermodynamic equilibrium could be obtained in the metal pool.

In our present work, a novel controlled radical polymerization system is developed based on xanthene-9-thione （XT）. It was found that the radical polymerization of styrene （St） became controlled in the presence of a small amount of XT. At the early stage of the polymerization, the polymerization rate was relatively low and the as-formed polystyrene （PS） had low number-average molecular weight （Mn） and narrow polydispersity （D）. After XT was consumed, the polymerization rate increased dramatically and the Mn of PS increased gradually with polymerization proceeding. When the polymerization of St was carried out with a proper molar ratio of initiator to XT and at an appropriate temperature, shortened slow polymerization stage and good control over Mn could be achieved. To further improve the regulating ability of XT, a series of substituent groups （-CF3, --CH（CH3）2, --N（CH3）2） were introduced onto the xanthene ring of XT, and the effects of these derivatives on the polymerization of St were investigated in detail. UV-Vis spectroscopy was carried out to monitor the concentration of XT during the polymerization and the chemical structure of the as-formed PS was fully characterized by IH- NMR and ESI-MS analysis. A possible mechanism involving the formation and evolution of the cross-termination products was proposed to interpret the observed polymerization behavior.

The properties of Sn-Zn-Al-La fusible alloy for mitigation devices of solid propellant rocket motors

The Al and La elements are added to the Sn9Zn alloy to obtain the fusible alloy for the mitigation devices of solid propellant rocket motors. Differential scanning calorimetry(DSC), metallographic analysis,scanning electron microscopy(SEM), energy dispersive spectroscopy(EDS), tensile testing and fracture analysis were used to study the effect of Al and La elements on the microstructure, melting characteristics, and mechanical properties of the Sn9Zn alloy. Whether the fusible diaphragm can effectively relieve pressure was investigated by the hydrostatic pressure at high-temperature test. Experimental results show that the melting point of the Sn9Zn-0.8Al0·2La and Sn9Zn-3Al0·2La fusible alloys can meet the predetermined working temperature of ventilation. The mechanical properties of those are more than 35% higher than that of the Sn9Zn alloy at-50°C-70°C, and the mechanical strength is reduced by 80% at 175°C. It is proven by the hydrostatic pressure at high-temperature test that the fusible diaphragm can relieve pressure effectively and can be used for the design of the mitigation devices of solid propellant rocket motors.

The combustion mechanism of aluminum particles in a detonation environment characterized by high temperature(in unit 10^(3)K),high pressure(in unit GPa),and high-speed motion(in units km/s)was studied,and a combustion model of the aluminum particles in detonation environment was *** on this model,a combustion control equation for aluminum particles in detonation environment was *** can be seen from the control equation that the burning time of aluminum particle is mainly affected by the particle size,system temperature,and diffusion *** calculation result shows that a higher system temperature,larger diffusion coefficient,and smaller particle size lead to a faster burn rate and shorter burning time for aluminum *** considering the particle size distribution characteristics of aluminum powder,the application of the combustion control equation was extended from single aluminum particles to nonuniform aluminum powder,and the calculated time corresponding to the peak burn rate of aluminum powder was in good agreement with the experimental electrical conductivity *** equation can quantitatively describe the combustion behavior of aluminum powder in different detonation environments and provides technical means for quantitative calculation of the aluminum powder combustion process in detonation environment.

We present a high-resolution relaxation scheme for a multi-class Lighthill-Whitham-Richards (MCLWR) traffic flow model. This scheme is based on high-order reconstruction for spatial discretization and an implicit-explicit Runge-Kutta method for time integration. The resulting method retains the simplicity of the relaxation schemes. There is no need to involve Riemann solvers and characteristic decomposition. Even the computation of the eigenvalues is not required. This makes the scheme particularly well suited for the MCLWR model in which the analytical expressions of the eigenvalues are difficult to obtain for more than four classes of road users. The numerical results illustrate the effectiveness of the presented method.

Objective: To investigate the model, quality as well as effect of teaching-in-English in five-year clinical medicine program of Hainan Medical ***: The questionnaire was carried out among clinical medicine undergraduates of2012–2015 grades in Hainan Medical University, to investigate studying time, studying habits and the impact of teaching in English. Additionally results of CET-4, CET-6 and overseas internship from undergraduates of 2012–2015 grade, as well as the result of phased medical licensing examination and post-graduate entrance examination from undergraduates of 2012 were accordingly collected from the Teaching Management ***: For the Chinese students in international classes, the average time of self-study was 161.49 min, 58.3% had preview before classes, and 90.7% had habit of review after classes. Thus the first time pass rate, total pass rate, first time excellent rate and total excellent rate of CET-4 and CET-6 of international classes were significantly higher than those of regular classes. The result of post-graduate entrance examination in 2016 showed that the score, pass rate and acceptance rate of international classes of 2012 grade were significantly higher those of regular classes(P < 0.01).Conclusions: Teaching-in-English reform in Hainan Medical University has achieved initial success. Chinese students from international classes are superior to those from regular classes in many aspects. However, there are still many problems, and effective measures should be implemented to promote teaching quality continuously.
