The Henan extreme rainfall in July 2021: Modulation of the northward-shift monsoon trough on the synoptic-scale wave train

The synoptic-scale wave train is a dominant pattern of the synoptic variability over the tropical western Pacific and usually affects the extreme weather over South China and Southeast *** it could extend its influence and contribute to the Henan extreme rainfall in July 2021 still needs to be *** found that during the Henan extreme rainfall days a positively synoptic-scale vorticity disturbance dominated Henan province,China,which was embedded in the synoptic-scale wave train that originated from the western North ***,the propagating pathway of this synoptic-scale wave train located northward and was likely modulated by the latitudinal location change of the monsoon trough over the western North Pacific.A northernmost displacement of the monsoon trough in July 2021(∼23.2°N)would facilitate the synoptic-scale wave train to propagate farther northwestward via shifting the related barotropic conversion ***,the synoptic-scale wave train from the tropics could reach Henan,provide the necessary lifting forcing,and supply abundant water vapor associated with the anomalous southerly for the occurrence of Henan extreme rainfall *** results implicate that the pre-existing synoptic-scale wave train regulated by the location of the monsoon trough may be a potential precursor for heavy rainfalls in northern Central China.

Transcriptome characterization and SSR discovery in Squaliobarbus curriculus

Squaliobarbus curriculus is a eurythermic ?sh found mainly in East Asia. The natural germplasm resources of this species, an organism of potential economic aquacultural importance, have recently been threatened by over?shing and habitat degradation. The objective of this study was to obtain functional genomic resources and candidate microsatellite markers for future genetic observation and germplasm protection of S. curriculus. Illumina paired-end sequencing generated over 22.20 million clean reads, which were assembled into 204 027 transcripts with an average length of 1 457 bp. A total of 112 570 protein-coding sequences(55.17%) were predicted, 111 934 of which had signi?cant matches in the NCBI nonredundant protein database. Overall, 60 450, 34 830, and 77 755 transcripts were assigned to Gene Ontology, Clusters of Orthologous Groups, and Eukaryotic Orthologous Groups categories, *** addition, 44 781 transcripts(21.95%) were mapped to 230 KEGG pathways. A total of 51 426 candidate simple sequence repeat(SSR) markers were identi?ed and used to design 36 149 PCR primer pairs. Fifty of these primer pairs were randomly selected for PCR validation in 32 S. curriculus specimens, which resulted in 25 pairs yielding the expected products. Further analysis revealed that 40%(10) of the 25 ampli?ed loci were polymorphic. The transcriptomic pro?le and SSR repertoire obtained in this study should facilitate population genetic studies and germplasm resource protection of S. curriculus.

Regional homogeneity abnormalities in patients with tensiontype headache:a resting-state fMRI study

Tension-type headache（TTH） is the most prevalent type of primary headache. Many studies have shown that the pathogenesis of primary headache is associated with fine structural or functional changes. However, these studies were mainly based on migraine. The present study aimed to investigate whether TTH patients show functional disturbances compared with healthy subjects. We used restingstate functional magnetic resonance imaging（f MRI） and regional homogeneity（Re Ho） analysis to identify changes in the local synchronization of spontaneous activity in patients with TTH. Ten patients with TTH and 10 age-, gender-, and education-matched healthy controls participated in the study. After demographic and clinical characteristics were acquired, a 3.0-T MRI system was used to obtain restingstate f MRIs. Compared with healthy controls, the TTH group exhibited significantly lower Re Ho values in the bilateral caudate nucleus, the precuneus, the putamen, the left middle frontal gyrus, and the superior frontal gyrus. There was no correlation between mean Re Ho values in TTH patients and duration of TTH, number of attacks, duration of daily attacks, Visual Analogue Scale score, or Headache Impact Test-6 score. These results suggest that TTHpatients exhibit reduced synchronization of neuronal activity in multiple regions involved in the integration and processing of pain signals.

Enhanced deposition of Zn O films by Li doping using radio frequency reactive magnetron sputtering

Radio frequency(RF) reactive magnetron sputtering was utilized to deposit Li-doped and undoped zinc oxide(Zn O) films on silicon wafers. Various Ar/O2 gas ratios by volume and sputtering powers were selected for each deposition process. The results demonstrate that the enhanced Zn O films are obtained via Li doping. The average deposition rate for doped Zn O films is twice more than that of the undoped films. Both atomic force microscopy and scanning electron microscopy studies indicate that Li doping significantly contributes to the higher degree of crystallinity of wurtzite–Zn O. X-ray diffraction analysis demonstrates that Li doping promotes the(002) preferential orientation in Li-doped Zn O films. However, an increase in the Zn O lattice constant, broadening of the(002) peak and a decrease in the peak integral area are observed in some Li-doped samples, especially as the form of Li2 O. This implies that doping with Li expands the crystal structure and thus induces the additional strain in the crystal lattice. The oriented-growth Li-doped Zn O will make significant applications in future surface acoustic wave devices.

Probing satellite galaxies in the Local Group by using FAST

The abundance of neutral hydrogen（HI）in satellite galaxies in the local group is important for studying the formation history of our local *** this work,we generated mock HI satellite galaxies in the Local Group using the high mass-resolution hydrodynamic APOSTLE *** simulated HI mass function agrees with the ALFALFA survey very well above 10~6M_⊙,although there is a discrepancy below this scale because of the observed flux *** carefully checking various systematic elements in the observations,including fitting of line width,sky coverage,integration time and frequency drift due to uncertainty in a galaxy’s distance,we predicted the abundance of HI in galaxies in a future survey that will be conducted by *** has a larger aperture and higher sensitivity than the Arecibo *** found that the HI mass function could be estimated well around 10~5M_⊙ if the integration time is 40 *** results indicate that there are 61 HI satellites in the Local Group and 36 in the FAST field above 10~5M_⊙.This estimation is one order of magnitude better than the current data,and will put a strong constraint on the formation history of the Local *** more high resolution simulated samples are needed to achieve this target.

With the explosive increase in mobile apps, more and more threats migrate from traditional PC client to mobile device. Compared with traditional Win＋Intel alliance in PC, Android＋ARM alliance dominates in Mobile Internet, the apps replace the PC client software as the major target of malicious usage. In this paper, to improve the security status of current mobile apps, we propose a methodology to evaluate mobile apps based on cloud computing platform and data mining. We also present a prototype system named MobSafe to identify the mobile app＇s virulence or benignancy. Compared with traditional method, such as permission pattern based method, MobSafe combines the dynamic and static analysis methods to comprehensively evaluate an Android app. In the implementation, we adopt Android Security Evaluation Framework （ASEF） and Static Android Analysis Framework （SAAF）, the two representative dynamic and static analysis methods, to evaluate the Android apps and estimate the total time needed to evaluate all the apps stored in one mobile app market. Based on the real trace from a commercial mobile app market called AppChina, we can collect the statistics of the number of active Android apps, the average number apps installed in one Android device, and the expanding ratio of mobile apps. As mobile app market serves as the main line of defence against mobile malwares, our evaluation results show that it is practical to use cloud computing platform and data mining to verify all stored apps routinely to filter out malware apps from mobile app markets. As the future work, MobSafe can extensively use machine learning to conduct automotive forensic analysis of mobile apps based on the generated multifaceted data in this stage.

Indole alkaloid sulfonic acids from an aqueous extract of Isatis indigotica roots and their antiviral activity

Six new indole alkaloid sulfonic acids(1–6), together with two analogues(7 and 8) that were previously reported as synthetic products, were isolated from an aqueous extract of the Isatis indigotica root. Their structures including the absolute configurations were determined by spectroscopic data analysis, combined with enzyme hydrolysis and comparison of experimental circular dichroism and calculated electronic circular dichroism spectra. In the preliminary assay, compounds 2 and 4 showed antiviral activity against Coxsackie virus B3 and influenza virus A/Hanfang/359/95(H3N2), respectively.
