In recent years,biochar has attracted considerable attention for soil quality improvement and carbon sequestration due to its unique physicochemical ***,the mechanism by which biochar application negatively affects the growth of crop seedlings has not been fully *** this study,a hydroponic experiment was conducted to evaluate the response of rice,wheat,and corn seedlings to biochar application(CK,0 g/L;BC1.0.5 g/L;and BC2.1.0 g/L).Compared with the CK treatment,the BC1.and BC2.treatments decreased the fresh shoot and root weights of rice and corn seedlings(P0.05).For the contents of nutrient elements in seedlings,both BC1.and BC2.treatments hindered the roots from absorbing Fe and Cu and increased the uptake of Ca and *** with the CK treatment,the translocation factor(TF)values of Ca,Mn,and Zn were significantly decreased especially in rice seedlings(35.3%-36.8%,68.7%-76.5%,and 2..8%-2..0%,respectively)under the BC1.and BC2.treatments,while only Mn was significantly decreased in wheat and corn seedlings(P1.~2. nm)were found in the root cells under BC2.treatment *** findings reveal that a large amount of biochar application can reduce nutrient absorption and translocation,and hinder rice,wheat,and corn seedlings,particularly rice seedling,in hydroponic system.

In this study, we constructed recombinant plasmid pcDNA3.1.P1.0}3C3D including P1. 2., 3C, 3D and part of 2. gene of FMDV and pcDNA3.1.IFN containing the gene encoding bovine IFN-α. We inoculated the DNA vaccine pcDNA3.1.P1.0}3C3D with or without pcDNA3.1.IFN to evaluate the effi- ciency of this DNA vaccine and the immunogenicity of DNA vaccine enhanced by the co-delivery with pcDNA3.1.IFN. After two times of vaccination with DNA vaccine, all of guinea pigs were challenged with 1.3 ID50 FMDV type O. Anti-FMDV antibody levels were detected by ELISA and T lymphocyte proliferation response was tested by MTT assay. The result shows that guinea pigs inoculated by pcDNA3.1.P1.0}3C3D alone or with pcDNA3.1.IFN generated specific antibodies and induced an FMDV-specific T lymphocyte proliferation response. FMDV challenge tests showed that one in four guinea pigs immunized by pcDNA3.1. P1.0}3C3D with pcDNA3.1.IFN was protected from the FMDV serotype O infection. This result indicated that the efficiency of the DNA vaccine was enhanced by co-delivery with pcDNA3.1.IFN. However, the protection rate was considerably lower than that immunized with conventional FMD vaccine.

Amylose content(AC)is a crucial determinant of the eating and cooking quality(ECQ)of rice,with low AC varieties exhibiting a softer texture and greater stickiness-attributes that enhance palatability and are desirable in specific culinary *** harness these traits,significant efforts have been made to manipulate AC to improve rice *** research utilized the MutMap+approach to identify LAC6/TL1.a gene that is an allele of Du1.,responsible for low ***6 encodes a C2.2.zinc finger protein,which specifically increases the splicing efficiency of the Wxb allele without affecting the Wxa *** studies of LAC6 revealed that its proper integration could rectify the undesirable AC phenotype,whereas mutations within this gene led to reduced AC and were associated with shorter grain length and decreased thousand-grain *** these drawbacks,such mutations positively impact rice palatability,presenting a trade-off between grain size and eating *** address the challenges posed by the reduced grain weight associated with LAC6 mutations,we developed a specific molecular marker for LAC6,which has been effectively used in breeding programs to select lac6/tl1.du1. homozygous individuals with larger grain *** findings demonstrate that the“small grain”trait associated with lac6/tl1.du1. can be effectively mitigated through combined phenotype-based and marker-assisted *** study highlights the potential of lac6/tl1.du1. as a valuable gene for breeding novel,high-quality soft rice varieties through targeted breeding strategies.

1.IntroductionPorous biodegradable synthetic materials such as β-tricalcium phosphate (β-TCP) and poly L-lactic acid(PLLA) are usually used in bone tissue ***, proper ratio, optimum pore size and porosity of the composites of β-TCP/PLLA are not very clear yet. In this study, we chose osteo-induced rat bone mesenchymal stem cells (rMSCs) as seeding cells, and cultured them on β-TCP/ PLLA scaffolds with different ratio, different pore size and different porosity. The aim is to investigate the optimum construction for supporting cell growth, proliferation and differentiation.

Background The aim of this study was to review current delivery room(DR)resuscitation intensity in chinese tertiary neonatal intensive care units and to investigate the association between DR resuscitation intensity and short-term outcomes in preterm infants born at {1.+0_31.6 weeks gestation age(GA).Methods This was a retrospective cross-sectional *** source population was infants born at {1.+0_31.6 weeks'GA who were enrolled in the chinese Neonatal Network {1.1. *** infants were categorized into five groups:(1.regular care;({1.oxygen supplementation and/or continuous positive airway pressure(O{1.CPAP);(3)mask ventilation;(4)endotracheal intubation;and(5)cardiopulmonary resuscitation(CPR).The association between DR resuscitation and shortterm outcomes was evaluated by inverse propensity score-weighted logistic *** Of 7939 infants included in this cohort,{1.1.(30.5%)received regular care,1.94({1..1.)received O,/CPAP,1.36(1..1.)received mask ventilation,1.69({1..3%)received endotracheal intubation,and 3{1.(4.0%)received CPR in the *** maternal age and maternal hypertension correlated with a higher need for resuscitation,and antenatal steroid use tended to be associated with a lower need for resuscitation(P1..Severe brain impairment increased significantly with increasing amounts of resuscitation in DR after adjusting for perinatal *** strategies vary widely between centers,with over 50%of preterm infants in eight centers requiring higher intensity *** Increased intensity of DR interventions was associated with increased mortality and morbidities in very preterm infants in *** is wide variation in resuscitative approaches across delivery centers,and ongoing quality improvement to standardize resuscitation practices is needed.
