Edgeworthia chrysantha (family Thymelaeaceae), native to China, is a deciduous small shrub. It has strongly aromatic flowers. It is used as folk medicine to cure eye disease1-5. The flowers are reputed to cure wet dream and abnormity of leucorrhea3,5 . Ethanolic and enhydrous extracts of E. chrysantha also showed antibacterial and antifungal activities2,4. A previous phytochemical study mainly led to the isolation of some coumarin compounds2,6-11and other components such as glucoside et al12,13. The essential oil from fresh flowers of Edgeworthia chrysantha was the first time investigated by GC-MS here. It afforded 0.13% essential oil (3hrs. of distillation by hexane), characterized by a special odour. A total of 45 compounds were identified, about 75.75% of the composition of the oils (fig. 1). The known oil is rich in ester (41.4%) and ketones (16.57%). Methyl cis,cis-9,12-octadecadienoate (7.47%) and methyl all-cis-9,12,15-octadecatrienoate (8.10%) are two of the most abundant constituents. The remaining portions of the oils consist of long chain alkane (6.07%), alkyl aromatics (4.76%) and other trace amounts components.

BACKGROUND People with bipolar disorder(BD)frequently struggle with the recurrence of affective ***,the interplay between coping mechanism and positive mood state remains *** To explore the associations among behavioral approach system(BAS)sensitivity level,coping,and positive mood states among people with *** Using a cross-sectional study design,90 participants with BD were presented with four BAS-activating life event scenarios and assessed with regard to their BAS trait sensitivity,coping flexibility,and mood states.A hierarchical clustering method was used to identify different groups with different styles of *** hierarchical regression analyses were conducted to examine the mediating and moderating roles of different components of coping on mood *** A three-cluster solution was found to best fit the present data *** findings showed that a low mass of coping combined with low BAS sensitivity level protects people with BD from detrimentally accentuating mood states when they encounter BAS-activating life ***,coping flexibility is demonstrated to mediate and moderate the relationships between BAS sensitivity level and mood ***,subduing the perceived controllability and reducing the use of behavioral-activation/emotion-amplifying coping strategies could help buffer the effect of positive *** The judicious use of coping in emotion regulation for people with BD when encountering BAS-activating life events was *** applications and theoretical implications are highlighted.

Ten-Year Outcomes of Transobturator Mid-Urethral Sling for Treatment of Stress Urinary Incontinence in Hong Kong Chinese Women with or without Reconstructive Pelvic Floor Surgery

Objective: To evaluate the outcomes of transobturator mid-urethral sling (TO-MUS) with or without reconstructive pelvic floor surgery (RPFS) in Chinese women with stress urinary incontinence (SUI) after 10 years. Methods: This was a prospective observational study on Chinese women undergoing the insertion of TO-MUS with or without RPFS. All patients were assessed at 1-year and 10-year by urodynamic study (UDS). Objective cure was defined as the absence of urine leakage during provocative maneuvers on filling cystometry. Data regarding subjective outcome (patient perception), quality of life changes (Urogenital Distress Inventory-short form (UDI-6), Incontinence Impact Questionnaire-short form (IIQ-7)) and adverse events were also collected. Results: Of 104 eligible patients, 99 patients completed the 10-year evaluation. 57 patients (57.6%) underwent TO-MUS only and 42 patients (42.4%) underwent TO-MUS with concomitant RPFS.
