Discrete Element Modeling of a Subduction Zone with a Seafloor Irregularity and its Impact on the Seismic Cycle

Seafloor irregularities influence rupture behavior along the subducting slab and in the overriding plate,thus affecting earthquake *** seafloor irregularities increase the likelihood of large earthquakes in a subduction zone remains contested,partially due to focus put either on fault development or on rupture ***,we simulate a subducting slab with a seafloor irregularity and the resulting deformation pattern of the overriding plate using the discrete element *** simulations illustrate the rupture along three major fault systems:megathrust,splay and backthrust *** results show different rupture dimensions of earthquake events varying from tens to ca.140 *** results suggest that the recurrence interval of megathrust events with rupture length of ca.100 km is ca.140 years,which is overall comparable to the paleoseismic records at the Mentawai area of the Sumatran *** further propose the coseismic slip amounts decrease and interseismic slip amounts increase from the surface downwards *** conclude that the presence of seafloor irregularities significantly affects rupture events along the slab as well as fault patterns in the overriding plate.

Two-terminal(2-T)perovskite(PVK)/CuIn(Ga)Se_(2)(CIGS)tandem solar cells(TSCs)have been considered as an ideal tandem cell because of their best bandgap matching regarding to Shockley–Queisser(S–Q)***,the nature of the irregular rough morphology of commercial CIGS prevents people from improving tandem device *** this paper,D-homoserine lactone hydrochloride is proven to improve coverage of PVK materials on irregular rough CIGS surfaces and also passivate bulk defects by modulating the growth of PVK *** addition,the minority carriers near the PVK/C60 interface and the incompletely passivated trap states caused interface recombination.A surface reconstruction with 2-thiopheneethylammonium iodide and N,N-dimethylformamide assisted passivates the defect sites located at the surface and grain ***,LiF is used to create this field effect,repelling hole carriers away from the PVK and C60 interface and thus reducing *** a result,a 2-T PVK/CIGS tandem yielded a power conversion efficiency of 24.6%(0.16 cm^(2)),one of the highest results for 2-T PVK/CIGS TSCs to our *** validation underscores the potential of our methodology in achieving superior performance in PVK/CIGS tandem solar cells.

Dear Editor,Acute subhyaloid hemorrhage causes sudden profound vision loss in the macular *** is a term that designates ocular hemorrhages lying between the posterior hyaloid membrane and the retina,often presented as a‘boat’or‘D’shaped hemorrhage[1].The development of optical coherence tomography(OCT)had enabled detailed differentiation of subhyaloid hemorrhage,allowing the term sub-internal limiting membrane(ILM)hemorrhage to be applied in selected cases where the blood is located beneath the ILM[1-2].However,it is not always possible to distinguish the location of the hemorrhage due to the attenuation of the retinal structures on ***,subhyaloid hemorrhage remains a widely used term,implying both subhyaloid and sub-ILM hemorrhage[1].

引导消费者参与价值共创有助于促进社区支持农业高质量发展,推动农业现代化转型升级。基于双系统理论,探讨两种不同形式的绿色互动对消费者价值共创行为的影响,以及数字信任与绿色信任的并行中介作用和社区氛围的调节效应。采用偏最小二乘结构方程模型(PLS-SEM)对收集的472份有效调查数据进行分析。研究发现:绿色情感互动和绿色信息互动正向促进消费者价值共创行为,且前者的作用更显著,表明绿色情感互动通过触发消费者对社区支持农业绿色生产理念的价值共振,对消费者价值共创行为的正向作用更大;数字信任和绿色信任在其中起并行中介作用,即绿色情感互动与绿色信息互动通过数字信任和绿色信任两条并行的心理机制路径间接影响消费者价值共创行为。值得关注的是,社区氛围不仅削弱数字信任与消费者价值共创行为间的关系,还会弱化绿色情感互动与绿色信息互动通过数字信任和绿色信任影响消费者价值共创行为的间接效应,较强的社区氛围或许引发信息超载和虚假舆论等负面影响,导致绿色互动通过消费者信任对价值共创行为的间接影响减弱。鉴于此,为更好促进消费者价值共创行为,社区支持农业实践者应为消费者打造沉浸式交互场景,强化成员间绿色价值情感纽带;开发可视化溯源系统,筑牢消费者对社区支持农业的数字信任与绿色信任基础;畅通多元化交流渠道,营造理性自由社区氛围。研究结论从理论上厘清绿色互动如何促进消费者价值共创行为,从实践上为优化社区支持农业经营策略,推进农业农村现代化提供有益借鉴。

CONVERGENCE OF NEWTON＇S METHOD FOR A MINIMIZATION PROBLEM IN IMPULSE NOISE REMOVAL

Recently, two-phase schemes for removing salt-and-pepper and random-valued impulse noise are proposed in [6, 7]. The first phase uses decision-based median filters to locate those pixels which are likely to be corrupted by noise (noise candidates). In the second phase, these noise candidates are restored using a detail-preserving regularization method which allows edges and noise-free pixels to be preserved. As shown in [18], this phase is equivalent to solving a one-dimensional nonlinear equation for each noise *** can solve these equations by using Newton's method. However, because of the edgepreserving term, the domain of convergence of Newton's method will be very narrow. In this paper, we determine the initial guesses for these equations such that Newton's method will always converge.

Numerical characteristics of the full operator hybrid simulation method

The full operator method （FOM） has been proposed to overcome some of the shortcomings of the commonly used operator splitting method （OSM）. In particular, the FOM is improved by increasing the accuracy of both the predictor and corrector using the estimated tangent stiffness of the tested structure. The numerical characteristics of the FOM, including stability and accuracy, are investigated in this study. It is shown that FOM is conditionally stable. The stability and accuracy characteristics are dependent on the accuracy of the estimated tangent stiffness and the parameters associated with the acceleration variation in the time-stepping integration method. Mass-spring systems with different types of nonlinearity, including hardening, stiffening, and softening behavior, are used to evaluate the performance of the FOM. It is found that the FOM can capture these types of nonlinearity with satisfactory accuracy. Using a prototype 12-story composite coupled wall system, the influences of the strong nonlinearity of the system as well as the displacement control errors from hydraulic actuators on the performance of the FOM are explored. The results show that the FOM is capable of generating reasonably accurate results despite the presence of strong structural nonlinearity and displacement control errors.

Improved Dual-image Quality with Reversible Data Hiding Using Translocation and Switching Strategy

Dual-image reversible data hiding(RDH)is a technique for hiding important *** technology can be used to safely deliver secret mes-sages to the recipient through dual images in an open network without being easily *** recipient of the image must receive the two stego-images before the secret message can be completely *** is one of the main advantages of data hiding technology;to increase the imperceptibility,the quality requirements of the stego-images are relatively important.A dual ste-ganographic image RDH method,called a DS-CF scheme that can achieve a bet-ter steganographic image quality using the center folding(CF)*** this paper,we developed a translocation and switching strategy(TaS)to shorten the distances between the stego-pixel coordinates and the cover pixel coordinates after information being *** with the DS-CF scheme,our proposed DS-TaS scheme can effectively improve the quality of the steganographic images at the same level of embedding *** experimental results show that the PSNR of our DS-TaS scheme at k=1 was 55.66 dB,which is an increase of 1.5 dB,and is 51.43 dB for k=2,46.66 dB for k=3,and 40.91 dB for k=*** addition,the PSNR values of the stego images was increased by 1.5,0.29,0.29,and 0.19 dB,*** shows that our proposed dual-image RDH method can optimize the visual quality of the stego-images and is better than many other dual-image RDH techniques.

Interplay of laser power and pore characteristics in selective laser melting of ZK60 magnesium alloys:A study based on in-situ monitoring and image analysis

This study offers significant insights into the multi-physics phenomena of the SLM process and the subsequent porosity characteristics of ZK60 Magnesium(Mg)***-speed in-situ monitoring was employed to visualise process signals in real-time,elucidating the dynamics of melt pools and vapour plumes under varying laser power conditions specifically between 40 W and 60 *** morphological analysis was performed using Scanning-Electron Microscopy(SEM),demonstrating a critical correlation between laser power and pore *** laser power led to increased pore coverage,whereas a denser structure was observed at higher laser *** laser power influence on porosity was further confirmed via Optical Microscopy(OM)conducted on both top and cross-sectional surfaces of the *** increase in laser power resulted in a decrease in pore coverage and pore size,potentially leading to a denser printed part of Mg alloy.X-ray Computed Tomography(XCT)augmented these findings by providing a 3D volumetric representation of the sample internal structure,revealing an inverse relationship between laser power and overall pore *** laser power appeared to favour the formation of interconnected pores,while a reduction in interconnected pores and an increase in isolated pores were observed at higher *** interplay between melt pool size,vapour plume effects,and laser power was found to significantly influence the resulting porosity,indicating a need for effective management of these factors to optimise the SLM process of Mg alloys.

The study of magnetic monopoles continues to be a prominent and captivating topic in physics, particularly within the realm of physical materials. Recently, K. C. Tan, Hariom Jani, Michael Högen, and their collaborators (2023) reported groundbreaking discoveries, marking significant progress in this field. However, a sense of dissatisfaction persists among researchers regarding the current state of advancement. To address this, we propose a novel theoretical framework that explores magnetic monopoles through the lens of Higgs field portals. Our findings indicate that the spin of the magnetic monopole, s = 1, is intrinsically linked to the fundamental expression governing its behavior, with the two aspects being inseparable in practical terms. This theory offers a deeper understanding of the inherent nature of magnetic monopoles and provides a foundation for further exploration.

Scalp electroacupuncture at the Baihui acupoint (DU 20) improves functional recovery in rats with cerebral ischemia Association with increased expression of vascular endothelial growth factors

In this study, we induced cerebral infarction in rats by occluding the right middle cerebral artery, and tested the effects of electroacupuncture at the Baihui acupoint （DU 20）. Motor and sensory function was tested using Garcia’s scale and motor weakness grading, and the expression of vascular endothelial growth factor in the brain was quantified using immunoblotting and immunohistochemistry. We found that scalp electroacupuncture at DU 20 significantly improved motor performance and sensory function in rats with stroke, and this was accompanied by an increased expression of vascular endothelial growth factor in the ischemic brain tissue and peri-ischemic area. In addition, Pearson correlation analysis showed that the improvements in functional recovery were correlated with the increased expression of vascular endothelial growth factor.
