Friction stir welding(FSW)has been extensively adopted to fabricate aluminium alloy joints by incorporating various welding parameters that include welding speed,rotational speed,diameters of shoulder and pin and tool tilt *** parameters significantly affect the weld *** tilt angle is one of the significant process parameters among the weld *** present study focused on the effect of tool tilt angle on strength of friction stir lap welding of AA2014-T6 aluminium *** tool tilt angle was varied between 0°and 4°with an equal increment of 1°.Other process parameters were kept *** and microstructure analysis,microhardness measurement,scanning electron micrograph,transmission electron micrograph and energy dispersive spectroscopy analysis were performed to evaluate the lap shear strength of friction stir lap welded *** proved that,defect-free weld joint was obtained while using a tool tilt angle of 1°to 3°.However,sound joints were welded using a tool tilt angle of 2°,which had the maximum lap shear strength of 14.42 kN and microhardness of HV *** joints welded using tool tilt angles of 1°and 3°yielded inferior lap shear strength due to unbalanced material flow in the weld region during FSW.

Two-dimensional(2 D)titanium carbide(MXene)nanosheets exhibited excellent conductivity,flexibility,high volumetric capacity,hydrophilic surface,thermal stability,***,it has been exploited in various ***,we report synthesis of mixed phase 2 D MXene as a catalytic material for simultaneous detection of important biomolecules such as ascorbic acid(AA),dopamine(DA)and uric acid(UA).crystalline structure,surface morphology and elemental composition of mixed phase titanium carbide(Ti-c-T_(x))MXene(T_(x)=-F,-OH,or-O)nanosheets were confirmed by X-ray diffraction(XRD),Raman spectroscopy,high-resolution transmission electron microscopy(HR-TEM),high-re solution scanning electron microscopy(HR-SEM)and Energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy(EDS)mapping ***,Ti-c-T_(x) modified glassy carbon electrode(GcE)was prepared and its electrochemical properties are studied by cyclic voltammetry(cV)and diffe rential pulse voltammetry(DPV).It was found that Ti-c-T_(x) modified GcE(Ti-c-T_(x)/GcE)showed excellent electrocatalytic activity and separated oxidation peaks of important biomolecules such as AA(at 0.01 V),DA(at 0.21 V)and UA(at 0.33 V).Also,Ti-c-T_(x)/GcE sensor is enabled their simultaneous detection in physiological pH from 100 to 1000μM for AA,0.5-50μM for DA and 0.5-4μM&100-1500μM for *** limit of detection’s(LOD)was estimated as 4.6μM,0.06μM and 0.075μM for AA,DA and UA,***,real sample analysis indicated that spiked AA,DA and UA can be determined accurately by Ti-c-T_(x)/GcE with the recovery ratio in the range between 100.5%-103%in human urine *** proposed Ti-c-T_(x) modified electrode exhibited good stability,selectivity and reproducibility as an electrochemical sensor for the detection of AA,DA and UA molecules.

Umbilical cord blood stem cell treatment for a patient with psoriatic arthritis

clinical and laboratory results document psoriatic arthritis in a 56-year old patient. The symptoms did not resolve with standard treatments(nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, steroids and methotrexate). TNF-alpha inhibitors(certolizumab pegol and adalimumab) were added to the treatment regime, with some adverse effects. A trial of human umbilical cord stem cell therapy was then initiated. The stem cells were enriched and concentrated from whole cord blood, by removal of erythrocytes and centrifugation. The patient received several infusions of cord blood stem cells, through intravenous and intra-articular injections. These stem cell treatments correlated with remission of symptoms(joint pain and psoriatic plaques) and normalized serologic results for the inflammatory markers c-reactive protein and erythrocyte sedimentation rate. These improvements were noted within the first thirty days post-treatment, and were sustained for more than one year. The results of this trial suggest that cord blood stem cells may have important therapeutic value for patients with psoriatic arthritis, particularly for those who cannot tolerate standard treatments.

construction of advanced electrode materials with unique performance for supercapacitors(Scs)is essential to achieving high implementation in the commercial ***,we report a novel peripheral octamethyl-substituted nickel(Ⅱ)phthalocyanine(Ni Me_(2)Pc)-based nanocomposite as the electrode material of all-solid-state *** highly redox-active NiMe_(2)Pc/carboxylated carbon nanotube(cNTcOOH)dendritic nanocomposite provides rapid electron/electrolyte ion-transport pathways and exhibits excellent structural stability,resulting in high-capacity activity and impressive cycling *** composite prepared with the optimized weight ratio of Ni Me_(2)Pc:cNT-cOOH(6:10)showed the highest specific capacitance of 330.5 F g^(-1)at 0.25 A g^(-1).The constructed NiMe_(2)Pc/cNT-cOOH-based all-solid-state symmetric Sc device showed excellent performance with a maximum energy density of 22.8 Wh kg^(-1)and outstanding cycling stability(111.6%retained after 35,000 cycles).Moreover,flexible carbon cloth significantly enhanced the energy density of the NiMe_(2)Pc/cNT-cOOH all-solid-state symmetric device to 52.1 Wh kg^(-1)with 95.4%capacitance retention after 35,000 cycles,and it could be applied to highperformance flexible electronics *** findings provide a novel strategy to design phthalocyanine-based electrode materials for next-generation flexible Sc devices.

Effect of multilayer crN/crAlN coating on the corrosion and contact resistance behavior of 316L SS bipolar plate for high temperature proton exchange membrane fuel cell

Stainless steels have received wide attention as a substitute material for bipolar plates in high temperature proton exchange membrane fuel cell(HT-PEMFc).In the present work,the crN,crAlN and multilayer crN/crAlN coatings were deposited on 316 L SS to increase the corrosion resistance and decrease the interfacial contact *** deposited coatings exhibited face centered cubic phase structure and it was verified from the X-ray diffraction pattern.X-ray photo electron spectroscopy results showed the formation of both crN and crAlN layers on 316 L ***/crAlN coating is more helpful in water management due to low surface roughness and high contact angle in the HT-PEMFc *** corrosion resistance behavior of all the samples were studied in 85%H_(3)PO_(4)solution at 140℃purged with H_(2)(HT-PEMFc anode)and O_(2)(HT-PEMFc cathode)*** results showed that all the coatings considerably improved the performance of 316 L SS and superior corrosion resistance was observed for crN/crAlN multilayer coating,whose protective efficiency was 98.12%and 96.14%in the two simulated HT-PEMFc *** results of electrochemical impedance spectroscopic studies demonstrated higher impedance for crN/crAlN *** morphological studies performed after corrosion studies revealed that protection ability of crN/crAlN coating still remained acceptable.A very low interfacial contact resistance value of 6 mΩ cm^(2) at 140 N/cm;was observed for crN/crAlN ***,after corrosion studies,the interfacial contact resistance value of crN/crAlN coated 316 L was much lower than that of crN and crAlN coatings due to the increased oxidation *** maximum power density of about 0.93 W/cm^(2) at 2 A/cm^(2) and output voltage of 0.96 V was observed for crN/crAlN coating.
