A c-shaped hinge for displacement magnification in MEMS rotational structures

Nd^(3+)-doped tellurite glasses are promising materials for thermometers based on the fluorescence intensity ratio(fIR)***,at high Nd^(3+)concentrations,energy transfer(ET)processes such as optical reabsorption and cross-relaxation can affect the Nd^(3+)emission,which has been little explored in the ***,the present work investigated the use of Nd^(3+)-doped tellurite glass(samples doped with Nd^(3+)at 0.2 mol%,0.5 mol%,2.0 mol%,and 4.0 mol%)in fluorescence thermometers,in the temperature range from 299 to 371 *** results indicate a strong dependence of the fIR parameters on the Nd^(3+)concentration,due to changes in the emission band profiles caused by optical reabsorption of the Nd^(3+)emissions and cross-relaxation processes.A decrease of the relative sensitivity of the ratio^(4)f_(5/2)→^(4)I_(9/2)/^(4)f_(3/2)→^(4)I_(9/2)is observed for samples doped with higher amounts of Nd^(3+).The maximum relative sensitivity at 299 K is 3.00%/K,which is the highest value among the reported Nd^(3+)ions.

Research on thermal insulation materials properties under HTHP conditions for deep oil and gas reservoir rock ITP-coring

Deep oil and gas reservoirs are under high-temperature conditions, but traditional coring methods do not consider temperature-preserved measures and ignore the influence of temperature on rock porosity and permeability, resulting in distorted resource assessments. The development of in situ temperaturepreserved coring(ITP-coring) technology for deep reservoir rock is urgent, and thermal insulation materials are key. Therefore, hollow glass microsphere/epoxy resin thermal insulation materials(HGM/EP materials) were proposed as thermal insulation materials. The materials properties under coupled hightemperature and high-pressure(HTHP) conditions were tested. The results indicated that high pressures led to HGM destruction and that the materials water absorption significantly increased; additionally,increasing temperature accelerated the process. High temperatures directly caused the thermal conductivity of the materials to increase; additionally, the thermal conduction and convection of water caused by high pressures led to an exponential increase in the thermal conductivity. High temperatures weakened the matrix, and high pressures destroyed the HGM, which resulted in a decrease in the tensile mechanical properties of the materials. The materials entered the high elastic state at 150.c, and the mechanical properties were weakened more obviously, while the pressure led to a significant effect when the water absorption was above 10%. Meanwhile, the tensile strength/strain were 13.62 MPa/1.3%and 6.09 MPa/0.86% at 100.c and 100 MPa, respectively, which meet the application requirements of the self-designed coring device. finally, K46-f40 and K46-f50 HGM/EP materials were proven to be suitable for ITP-coring under coupled conditions below 100.c and 100 MPa. Generating non-jumps from a known one

Let r≥2 be an integer. The real number α∈[0, 1) is a jump for r if there exists a constant c> 0 such that for any ε> 0 and any integer m≥r, there exists an integer n0（ε, m） satisfying any r-uniform graph with n≥n0（ε, m） vertices and density at least α+εcontains a subgraph with m vertices and density at least α+c. A result of Erd?s and Simonovits （1966） and Erd?s and Stone （1946） implies that every α∈[0, 1) is a jump for r=2. Erd?s （1964） asked whether the same is true for r≥3. frankl and R?dl （1984） gave a negative answer by showing that 1-1/（lr-1） is not a jump for r if r≥3 and l> 2r. After that, more non-jumps are foundlr-1is not a juby using a method of frankl and R?dl （1984）. Motivated by an idea of Liu and Pikhurko （2023）, in this paper,we show a method to construct maps f:[0, 1)→[0, 1) that preserve non-jumps, i.e., if α is a non-jump for r given by the method of frankl and R?dl （1984）, then f （α） is also a non-jump for r. We use these maps to study hypergraph Tura′n densities and answer a question posed by Grosu （2016）.

Niche differentiation among facultative filter feeders: Insights from invasive Ponto-caspian mysids

The degree of dietary specialization has a fundamental impact on the ecological function and interactions of suspension *** niche differentiation by food particle size is common among obligate suspension feeders,its role is not evident in facultative *** this study,we aimed at providing new insights on the matter by focusing on sympatric mysid *** mysids use different mechanisms for raptorial and filter-feeding,they represent a more adequate model system than for example,the more extensively studied *** made morpholog-ical measurements on the 4 coexisting invasive Ponto-caspian mysid species to determine the areas and mesh sizes of their *** also quantified their clearance rates on the microalga cryptomonas *** a laboratory experiment to reveal how morphological differences manifest in their overall filtering *** found relatively small but consistent differences in the primary filter area among the species,indicating that morphological constraints due to the enclosed position of the setae might limit the possibility for *** primary filter mesh sizes were small in all 4 species(0.69-2.73μm)with moderate but consistent intraspec.f.c differences,suggesting that the benefit of being able to capture small particles might outweigh the pressure for *** observed clearance rates were in accordance with the morphological characteristics of the species,highlighting that auxiliary filters(present in one of the species,Limnomysis benedeni)are needed to increase filtering capacity *** study confirmed that food particle size can contribute to the niche differentiation of facultative filter feeders,but also indicated that they can tolerate a higher overlap than obligate *** observed differences were related to the habitat preferences and predatory potentials of the species,suggesting that complementarity among the different niche axes might further facilitate theircoexistence.

Effect of short neuropeptide f signaling on larval feeding in Mythimna separata

Mythimna separata is a notorious phytophagous pest which poses serious threats to cereal crops owing to the gluttony of the *** short neuropeptide f(sNPf)and its receptor sNPfR are involved in a diversity of physiological functions,especially in functions related to feeding in insects,it is a molecular target for pest ***,an sNPf and 2 sNPfRs were identified and cloned from *** analysis revealed that the sNPf and its receptors had a highly conserved RLRfamide c-terminus and 7 transmembrane domains,*** sNPf and its receptor genes were distributed across larval periods and tissues,but 2 receptors had distinct expression *** starvation-induced assay elucidated that sNPf and sNPfR expression levels were downregulated under food deprivation and recovered with subsequent *** interference knockdown of sNPf,sNPfR1,and sNPfR2 by injection of double-stranded RNA into larvae not only suppressed food consumption and increased body size and weight,but also led to decrease of glycogen and total lipid contents,and increase of trehalose compared with double-stranded green fluorescent protein ***,molecular docking was performed on the interaction mode between sNPfR protein and its ligand sNPf based on the 3-dimensional models constructed by Alphafold;the results indicated that both receptors were presumably activated by the mature peptide *** results revealed that sNPf signaling played a considerably vital role in the feeding regulation of *** and represents a potential control target for this pest.
