Hearing loss is the third leading cause of human ***-related hearing loss,one type of acquired sensorineural hearing loss,is largely responsible for this escalating global health ***-induced,ototoxic,and idiopathic sudden sensorineural are other less common types of acquired hearing *** etiology of these conditions is complex and multi-fa ctorial involving an interplay of genetic and environmental *** stress has recently been proposed as a likely linking cause in most types of acquired sensorineural hearing *** non-coding RNA sequences known as microRNAs(miRNAs)have increasingly been shown to play a role in cellular hypoxia and oxidative stress responses including promoting an apoptotic *** hair cell death is a central histopathological finding in sensorineural hearing *** these cells do not regenerate in humans,it underlies the irreversibility of human age-related hearing *** EMBASE,Ovid MEDLINE,Web of Science core collection,and *** databases over the period August 1,2018 to July 31,2023 were searched with"hearing loss,""hypoxamiRs,""hypoxia,""microRNAs,""ischemia,"and"oxidative stress"text words for English language primary study publications or registered clinical *** red clinical trials known to the senior author we re also assessed.A total of 222studies were thus *** excluding duplicates,editorials,retra ctions,secondary research studies,and non-English language articles,39 primary studies and clinical trials underwent full-text *** resulted in 11 animal,in vitro,and/or human subject journal articles and 8 registered clinical trial database entries which form the basis of this narrative *** miR-34a and miR-29b levels increase with age in *** miRNAs were demonstrated in human neuroblastoma and murine cochlear cell lines to target Sirtuin 1/peroxisome proliferato r-activated receptor gamma coactivator-1-alpha(SIRT1/P Gc-1α),SIRT

Electrical characteristics of co/n-Si Schottky barrier diodes are analysed by current- voltage （I- V） and capacitancevoltage （c- V） techniques at room temperature. The electronic parameters such as ideality factor, barrier height and average series resistance are determined. The barrier height 0. 76 eV obtained from the c - V measurements is higher than that of the value 0. 70 eV obtained from the I - V measurements. The series resistance Rs and the ideality factor n are determined from the d ln（ I） /dV plot and are found to be 193.62 Ω and 1.34, respectively. The barrier height and the Rs value are calculated from the H（I） - I plot and are found to be 0.71 eV and 205.95Ω. Furthermore, the energy distribution of the interface state density is determined from the forward bias I - V characteristics by taking into account the bias dependence of the effective barrier height. The interface state density Nss ranges from 6.484×10^11 cm^-2eV^-1 in （Ec - 0.446） eV to 2.801×10^10 cm^-2eV^-1 in （Ec - 0.631） eV, of the co/n-Si Schottky barrier diode. The results show the presence of a thin interracial layer between the metal and the semiconductor.

AIM:To investigate the LH pulse frequency and amplitude in azoospermic and oligozoospermic patients and to compare them with normal fertile subjects.METHODS:In this controlled clinical study, 10 normal fertile male volunteers and 20 infertile patients (10 oligozoospermic and 10 azoospermic) were enrolled. Blood samples were taken every 30 minutes for 12 hours. FSH, LH and T levels were determined. LH was observed at all the blood samples, but FSH and testosterone only at the first, middle and last samples.RESULTS:The mean LH levels were significantly different between all the groups, but there was no statistical difference in the FSH levels between the fertile and oligozoospermic groups. The mean LH levels increased from the fertile towards the azoospermic groups (Pcy were significantly different between all the 3 groups. The former increased while the latter decreased from the fertile to the azoospermic groups. The T levels were different statistically only between the fertile and the azoospermic groups.cONcLUSION:The more prominent is the testicular defect, the lower will be the LH pulse frequency and the higher the amplitude.

Since 1985, samples with a total weight of more than 14,000 kg, mainly from three key sections in western and northwestern Hunan, South china, have been processed for conodonts. In strata older than the late Late cambrian paraconodonts have proved useful for stratigraphic subdivision and correlation. Thirteen conodont zones are proposed in the Middle cambrian through lowermost Ordovician. The correlation between these zones and those of North china, western U. S.A., western Newfoundland, canada, and Iran is discussed. In ascending order, these 13 zones are as follows: The Gapparodus bisulcatus-Westergaardodina brevidens Zone, Shandongodus priscus-Hunanognathus tricuspidatus Zone, Westergaardodina quadrata Zone, Westergaardodina matsushitai-W. grandidens Zone, Westergaardodina lui-W. am Zone, Westergaardodina cf. calix-Prooneotodus rotundatus Zone, Proconodontus tenuiserratus Zone, Proconodontus Zone, Eoconodontus Zone, cordylodus proavus Zone, cordylodus intermedius Zone, cordylodus lindstromi Zone, and cordylodus angulatus Zone (lower part). The Westergaardodina lui-W. ani and Westergaardodina cf. calix-Prooneotodus rotundatus Zones replace the Westergaardodina proligula and Westergaardodina cf. behrae-Prooneotodus rotundatus Zones, respectively, in the lowermost Upper cambrian. Two new species (Westergaardodina Iui and Westergaardodina ani) and one conditionally identified species (Westergaardodina cf. calix) are described.

Background:Recurrent acute cholecystitis(RAc)can occur after non-surgical treatment for acute cholecystitis(Ac),and can be more severe in comparison to the first episode of *** skeletal muscle mass or adiposity have various effects in several *** aimed to clarify the relationship between RAc and body ***:Patients with Ac who were treated at our hospital between January 2011 and March 2022 were *** psoas muscle mass and adipose tissue area at the third lumbar level were measured using computed tomography at the first episode of *** areas were divided by height to obtain the psoas muscle mass index(PMI)and subcutaneous/visceral adipose tissue index(SATI/VATI).According to median VATI,SATI and PMI values by sex,patients were divided into the high and low PMI *** performed propensity score matching to eliminate the baseline differences between the high PMI and low PMI groups and analyzed the cumulative incidence and predictors of ***:The entire cohort was divided into the high PMI(n=81)and low PMI(n=80)*** the propensity score-matched cohort there were 57 patients in each *** Kaplan-Meier analysis,the low PMI group and the high VATI group had a significantly higher cumulative incidence of RAc than their counterparts(log-rank P=0.001 and 0.015,respectively).In a multivariate cox regression analysis,the hazard ratios of low PMI and low VATI for RAc were 5.250(95%confidence interval 1.083-25.450,P=0.039)and 0.158(95%confidence interval:0.026-0.937,P=0.042),***:Low skeletal muscle mass and high visceral adiposity were independent risk factors for RAc.

A high-scale integrated optical receiver including a preamplifier, a limiting amplifier, a clock and data recovery (cDR) block, and a 1:4 demultiplexer (DEMUX) has been realized in a 0.25 μm cMOS technology. Using the loop parameter optimization method and the low-jitter circuit design technique, the rms and peak-to-peak jitter of the recovered 625 MHz clock are 9.4 and 46.3 ps, respectively, which meet the jitter specifications stipulated in ITU-T recommendation G.958. In response to 2.5 Gb/s PRBS input data (2 23 1), the recovered and frequency divided 625 MHz clock has a phase noise of 83.8 dBc/Hz at 20 kHz offset and the 2.5 Gb/s PRBS data has been demultiplexed into four 625 Mb/s data. The power dissipation is only 0.3 W under a single 3.3 V supply (excluding output buffers).

Hepatitis A complicated with acute renal failure and high hepatocyte growth factor: A case report

A 58-year-old man was admitted to our hospital. Laboratory data showed severe liver injury and that the patient was positive for immunoglobulin M anti-hepatitis A virus(HAV) antibodies. He was also complicated with severe renal dysfunction and had an extremely high level of serum hepatocyte growth factor(HGF). Therefore, he was diagnosed with severe acute liver failure with acute renal failure(ARF) caused by HAV infection. Prognosis was expected to be poor because of complications by ARF and high serum HGF. However, liver and renal functions both improved rapidly without intensive treatment, and he was subsequently discharged from our hospital on the 21 st hospital day. Although complication with ARF and high levels of serum HGF are both important factors predicting poor prognosis in acute liver failure patients, the present case achieved a favorable outcome. Endogenous HGF might play an important role as a regenerative effector in injured livers and kidneys.
