Fast c.mpression of c.mputer-generated holographic images based on a GPU-accelerated skip-dimension vector quantization method

A method for fast and low bit.rate c.mpression of digital holograms based on a new vector quantization （VQ） method known as the skip-dimension VQ （SDVQ） is proposed. Briefly, a c.mplex hologram is converted into a real off-axis hologram, and partitioned into a set of image vectors. The image vectors are passed into a graphic processing unit （GPU）, and c.mpressed through SDVQ into a set of code indices considerably smaller in data size than the source hologram. Experimental evaluation reveals that our scheme is capable of c.mpressing a digital hologram to a c.mpression ratio of over 500 times, in approximately 20-22 ms.

In real world situations, most scheduling problems occur neither as c.mplete off-line nor as c.mplete on-line models. most likely, a problem arises as an on-line model with some partial information. In this article, we consider such a model. We study the scheduling problem P(n1,n2), where two groups of jobs are to be scheduled. The first job group is available beforehand. As soon as all jobs in the first group are assigned, the second job group appears. The objective is to minimize the longest job c.mpletion time (makespan). We show a lower bound of 3/2 even for very special cases. Best possible algorithms are presented for a number of cases. Furthermore, a heuristic is proposed for the general case. The main contribution of this paper is to discuss the impact of the quantity of available information in designing an on-line algorithm. It is interesting to note that the absence of even a little bit.information may significantly affect the performance of an algorithm.

In this paper, we propose a new multi-user Rake receiver, based on the interference mutualization with a matrix representation for multiple Input Single Output mISO channel. The proposed system used the modified Gegenbauer functions in order to generate the signal and to ensure the multi users transmission system. The new proposed receiver allows, using the temporal and special diversity, to avoid the interferences between symbols and to improve the system performances in terms of bit.Error Rate BER and interferences between users with a low algorithm c.mplexity. The proposed solution is based on the classical Rake receiver associated with the equalizer receiver. In order to adapt the Rake approach, in single detection case and in multi users Ultra Wide Band environment, we propose a multi-user Rake receiver using the matrix form. Our proposed system is evaluated in terms of channel effects and multi users’ interferences.

magnesium(mg)alloys are extensively used in the automotive and aircraft industries due to their prominent *** selection of appropriate process parameters is an important decision to be made because of the cost reduction and quality *** decision entails the selection of suitable process parameters concerning various conflicting factors,so it has to be addressed with the multiple criteria Decision making(mc.m)***,this work addresses the mc.m problem through the TOPSIS(Technique for Order Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution)and cOPRAS(c.mplex PRoportional ASsessment)*** assessment carried out in the material mg AZ91 with the Solid carbide(Sc)drill *** dependent parameters like drilling time,burr height,burr thickness,and roughness are considered with the independent parameters like spindle speed and feed *** alternatives are ranked using the above said two methods and the results are *** optimum c.mbination was found on the basis of TOPSIS and cOPRAS for simultaneous minimization of all the responses which is found with a spindle speed of 4540 rpm and a feed rate of 0.076 mm/*** identical sequencing order was observed in TOPSIS and cOPRAS *** empirical model was developed through Box-Behnken design for each *** empirical model developed for drilling time which is 3.959 times accurate than the conventional *** trends of various dependents based on the heterogeneity of various independents are not identical,these c.mplex mechanisms are identified and *** optimized results of the Desirability Function Approach are greater accordance with the TOPSIS and cOPRAS top *** confirmation results are observed with lesser deviation suggesting the selection of the above independent parameters.

In this paper,we study the advantages of cooperation in broadcasting systems from a geosynchronous earth orbit.GEO)satellite to mobile terminals(mTs),achieved through a terrestrial c.mplementary ground station(cGS) with fixed installment,which acts as a *** and in the context of the digital video broadcasting-satellite-to-handheld(DVB-SH) standard,the performance improvements offered by the rotated constellations method are investigated,where prior transmission,a phase rotation of the transmitted symbols by a fixed angle is applied followed by a random c.mponent *** codes with soft decision decoding and appropriate random channel interleavers are also *** present analytical expressions for the bit.log-likelihood ratios(LLRs)that are needed for soft decision decoding at the mT turbo decoder,while the code c.mbining technique is adapted to improve the end-to-end(E2E) ***,we obtain through extensive c.mputer simulations the average bit.error probability(ABEP) of quadrature phase-shift keying(QPSK) signals received over pure land-mobile satellite(LmS)and pure cGS links for coding rates 1/3 and6/***,the optimal rotation angles are obtained for both links.E2 E ABEP results are then presented assuming cooperation between GEO and cGS,while the power allocation issue is investigated under fixed total transmission *** performance evaluation results show that by using the constellation rotation technique,a performance gain can be achieved for high coding rates.

The monolithic three-dimensional integration of memory and logic circuits could dramatically improve the performance and energy efficiency of c.mputing systems. Some conventional and emerging memories are suitable for vertical integration, including highly scalable metal-oxide resistive switching devices （＂memristors＂）. However, the integration of logic circuits has proven to be much more challenging than expected. In this study, we demonstrated memory and logic functionality in a monolithic three-dimensional circuit by adapting the recently proposed memristor-based stateful material implication logic. By modifying the original circuit to increase its robustness to device imperfections, we experimentally showed, for the first time, a reliable multi-cycle multi-gate material implication logic operation and half-adder circuit within a three- dimensional stack of monolithically integrated memristors. Direct data manipulation in three dimensions enables extremely c.mpact and high-throughput logic- in-memory c.mputing and, remarkably, presents a viable solution for the Feynman Grand challenge of implementing an 8-bit.adder at the nanoscale.
