Simulation of Underground Reservoir Stability of Pumped Storage Power Station Based on Fluid-Structure coupling

Based on global initiatives such as the clean energy transition and the development of renewable energy,the pumped storage power station has become a new and significant way of energy storage and regulation,and its construction environment is more complex than that of a traditional *** particular,the stability of the rock strata in the underground reservoirs is affected by the seepage pressure and rock stress,which presents some challenges in achieving engineering safety and *** the advantages of the numerical simulation method in dealing deal with nonlinear problems in engineering stability,in this study,the stability of the underground reservoir of the Shidangshan(SDS)pumped storage power station was numerically calculated and quantitatively analyzed based on fluid-structure coupling theory,providing an important reference for the safe operation and management of the underground ***,using the cOMSOL software,a suitablemechanicalmodel was created in accordance with the geological structure and project characteristics of the underground ***,the characteristics of the stress field,displacement field,and seepage field after excavation of the underground reservoir were simulated in light of the seepage effect of groundwater on the nearby rock of the underground ***,based on the construction specifications and Molar-coulomb criterion,a thorough evaluation of the stability of the underground reservoir was performed through simulation of the filling and discharge conditions and anti-seepage strengthening *** findings demonstrate that the numerical simulation results have a certain level of reliability and are in accordance with the stress measured in the project *** underground reservoir excavation resulted in a maximum displacement value of the rock mass around the caverns of 3.56 mm in a typical section,and the safety coefficient of the parts,as determined using the Molar-coulomb criterion,was highe

A DNA tetrahedron-based ferroptosis-suppressing nanoparticle: superior delivery of curcumin and alleviation of diabetic osteoporosis

Diabetic osteoporosis(DOP)is a significant complication that poses continuous threat to the bone health of patients with diabetes;however,currently,there are no effective treatment *** patients with diabetes,the increased levels of ferroptosis affect the osteogenic commitment and differentiation of bone mesenchymal stem cells(BMScs),leading to significant skeletal *** address this issue,we aimed to target ferroptosis and propose a novel therapeutic approach for the treatment of *** synthesized ferroptosis-suppressing nanoparticles,which could deliver curcumin,a natural compound,to the bone marrow using tetrahedral framework nucleic acid(tFNA).This delivery system demonstrated excellent curcumin bioavailability and stability,as well as synergistic properties with *** in vitro and in vivo experiments revealed that nanoparticles could enhance mitochondrial function by activating the nuclear factor E2-related factor 2(NRF2)/glutathione peroxidase 4(GPX4)pathway,inhibiting ferroptosis,promoting the osteogenic differentiation of BMScs in the diabetic microenvironment,reducing trabecular loss,and increasing bone *** findings suggest that curcumin-containing DNA tetrahedron-based ferroptosissuppressing nanoparticles have a promising potential for the treatment of DOP and other ferroptosis-related diseases.

The medium-temperature dependence of jet transport coefficient in high-energy nucleus-nucleus collisions

The medium-temperature T dependence of the jet transport coefficient̂q was studied via the nuclear modification factor RAA(p_(T))and elliptical flow parameter v_(2)(p_(T))for large transverse momentum p_(T) hadrons in high-energy nucleus-nucleus *** a next-to-leading-order perturbative QcD parton model for hard scatterings with modified fragmentation functions due to jet quenching controlled by q,we check the suppression and azimuthal anisotropy for large p_(T) hadrons,and extract q by global fits to RAA(pT)and v_(2)(pT)data in A+A collisions at RHIc and LHc,*** numerical results from the best fits show that q∕T^(3) goes down with local medium-temperature T in the parton jet *** with the case of a constant q∕T^(3),the going-down T dependence of q∕T^(3) makes a hard parton jet to lose more energy near T_(c) and therefore strengthens the azimuthal anisotropy for large pT *** a result,v_(2)(p_(T))for large pT hadrons was enhanced by approximately 10%to better fit the data at RHIc/*** the first-order phase transition from QGP to the hadron phase and the additional energy loss in the hadron phase,v_(2)(p_(T))is again enhanced by 5-10%at RHIc/LHc.

Troy: Efficient Service Deployment for Windows Systems

The modern university computer lab and kindergarden through 12th grade classrooms require a centralized solution to efficiently manage a large number of desktops. The existing solutions either bring virtualization overhead in runtime or requires loading a large image over 30 GB leading to an unacceptable network latency. In this work, we propose Troy which takes advantage of the differencing virtual hard disk techniques in Windows *** such, Troy only loads the modifications made on one machine to all other machines. Troy consists of two modules that are responsible to generate an initial image and merge a differencing image with its parent image, respectively. Specifically, we identify the key fields in the virtual hard disk image that links the differencing image and the parent image and find the modified blocks in the differencing images that should be used to replace the blocks in the parent image. We further design a lazy copy solution to reduce the I/O burden in image merging. We have implemented Troy on bare metal machines. The evaluation results show that the performance of Troy is comparable to the native implementation in Windows, without requiring the Windows environment.

combined UAMP and MF Message Passing Algorithm for Multi-Target Wideband DOA Estimation with Dirichlet Process Prior

When estimating the direction of arrival (DOA) of wideband signals from multiple sources, the performance of sparse Bayesian methods is influenced by the frequency bands occupied by signals in different directions. This is particularly true when multiple signal frequency bands overlap. Message passing algorithms (MPA) with Dirichlet process (DP) prior can be employed in a sparse Bayesian learning (SBL) framework with high precision. However, existing methods suffer from either high complexity or low precision. To address this, we propose a low-complexity DOA estimation algorithm based on a factor graph. This approach introduces two strong constraints via a stretching transformation of the factor graph. The first constraint separates the observation from the DP prior, enabling the application of the unitary approximate message passing (UAMP) algorithm for simplified inference and mitigation of divergence issues. The second constraint compensates for the deviation in estimation angle caused by the grid mismatch problem. compared to state-of-the-art algorithms, our proposed method offers higher estimation accuracy and lower complexity.

Bioinspired supramolecular macrocycle hybrid membranes with enhanced proton conductivity

enhancing the proton conductivity of proton exchange membranes(PEMs)is essential to expand the applications of proton exchange membrane fuel cells(PEMFcs).Inspired by the proton conduction mechanism of bacteriorhodopsin,cucurbit[n]urils(cB[n],where n is the number of glycoluril units,n=6,7,or 8)are introduced into sulfonated poly(ether ether ketone)(SPEEK)matrix to fabricate hybrid PEMs,employing a nature-inspired chemical engineering(NIcE)*** carbonyl groups of cB[n]act as proton-conducting sites,while the host–guest interaction between cB[n]and water molecules offers extra protonconducting ***,the molecular size of cB[n]aids in their dispersion within the SPEEK matrix,effectively bridging the unconnected proton-conducting sulfonic group domains within the SPEEK ***,all hybrid membranes exhibit significantly enhanced proton ***,the SPEEK membrane incorporating 1 wt.%cB[8](cB[8]/SPEEK-1%)demonstrates the highest proton conductivity of 198.0 mS·cm^(−1) at 60°c and 100%relative humidity(RH),which is 228%greater than that of the pure SPEEK membrane under the same ***,hybrid membranes exhibit superior fuel cell *** cB[8]/SPEEK-1%membrane achieves a maximum power density of 214 mW·cm^(−2),representing a 140%improvement over the pure SPEEK membrane(89 mW·cm^(−2))at 50°c and 100%*** findings serve as a foundation for constructing continuous proton-conducting pathways within membranes by utilizing supramolecular macrocycles as fuel cell electrolytes and in other applications.

Since electromagnetic pollution is detrimental to human health and the environment, numerous efforts have been successively made to achieve excellent electromagnetic interference shielding effectiveness(EMI SE) via designing the hierarchical structures for electromagnetic interference(EMI) shielding polymer composites. Among the plentiful structures, the asymmetric structures are currently a hot spot, principally categorizing into multi-layered, porous, fibrous, and segregated asymmetric structures, which endows the high EMI shielding performance for polymer composites incorporated with magnetic, conductive, and/or dielectric micro/nano-fillers, due to the “absorption-reflection-reabsorption” shielding mechanism. Therefore, this review provides the retrospection and summary of the efforts with respect to abundant asymmetric structures and multifunctional micro/nano-fillers for enhancing EMI shielding properties, which is conducive to the booming development of polymeric EMI shielding materials for the promising prospect in modern electronics and 5-generation(5G) technology.
