Listening to music manipulates attention to be more externally focused,which has the potential to improve muscular *** study aimed to determine the effect of listening to music on muscle activation during an isometric exercise task,and compare this effect to those of other attentional focus *** healthy subjects(n=35;16 men/19 women)completed an isometric elbow flexion task for 1 min in three randomized and counterbalanced conditions:internal focus(INT),external focus with a simple distraction task(EXT),or listening to music(MUS).Muscle activation of the biceps and triceps brachii and heart rate(hr)were recorded throughout the exercise *** of perceived exertion(RPE),affective valence,and motivation were measured at the end of each *** was no difference in muscle activation measures among the three *** during MUS was lower than EXT at 15 s([89.4±11.8]beats/min vs.[93.1±12.9]beats/min;p=0.018)and 30 s([90.6±12.4]beats/min vs.[94.2±12.5]beats/min;p=0.026),and lower than INT at 60 s([93.3±13.3]beats/min vs.[96.7±12.0]beats/min;p=0.016).Overall RPE was higher for INT(13.4±2.2)than for MUS([12.6±2.0];p=0.020)and EXT([11.94±2.22];pctive valence was higher for MUS than for INT([2.7±1.4]vs.[2.1±1.5];p=0.011).Manipulating attentional focus did not alter muscle activation for a light-intensity isometric muscular endurance task,though MUS was reported as more positive and requiring less exertion to complete than *** music can therefore be recommended during light-intensity isometric exercise based on the psychological benefits observed.

睡眠不足与许多生理障碍有关(包括疼痛敏化等),影响人们的生活。已有研究表明,机体在经历被动睡眠剥夺与主动睡眠剥夺(active sleep deprivation,ASD)时,出现痛觉敏化。本研究探讨ASD后痛觉敏化的神经环路机制。主要结果如下:(1)与对照组小鼠相比,接受ASD的小鼠表现出显著的痛觉敏化。9 h-ASD诱导的痛觉敏化在小鼠中持续至少15 h,并在24 h时恢复到基线阈值;(2)在ASD模型小鼠,初级感觉皮层后肢区的谷氨酸能神经元(S1HLGlu)的活性增强,且S1HLGlu神经元活性的增加是疼痛阈值下降所必需的;(3)通过病毒示踪等技术,发现蓝斑去甲肾上腺素能神经元(LcNA)向S1HLGlu神经元发出功能性单突触传入,即LcNA→S1HLGlu通路;(4)通过c-Fos染色和在体多通道电极记录,发现ASD模型小鼠LcNA神经元的活性增强。并且,LcNA神经元活性的增加对于ASD小鼠痛觉敏化是必要的;(5)抑制LcNA→S1HLGlu通路活性可以消除ASD引起的痛觉敏化。激活LcNA→S1HLGlu通路可以引起痛觉敏化。结论:睡眠不足激活LcNA→S1HLGlu通路,引起痛觉敏化。该研究拓展了我们对疼痛处理中多系统相互作用的理解,为睡眠不足引起的痛觉敏化治疗提供新思路和新方法。

Effect of fatty acids on poly-amine contents and Na^+/H^+ antiport activity in PM vesicles isolated from roots of barley under salt stress

With 200 mmol/L Nacl treatment on barley cultivar 'Jian 4' (Hordeum vulgare L. cv. J4) seedlings for 6 d, the contents of covalently and noncovalently conjugated polyamines (PAs) and activities of H+-ATPase in plasma membrane (PM) vesicles isolated from the roots decreased remarkably. Moreover, the activity of Na+/H+ antiport was detected first in PM vesicles. The results showed that the decrease in the contents of membrane phospholipid, noncovalently conjugated PAs and activity of H+-ATPase caused by Nacl could be restored partially by application of 1 mmol/L stearic acid (c16:0) and linoleic acid (c18:2), and c18:2 was more effective than c16:0. In addition, a reduction in the contents of covalently conjugated PAs was only reversed partially in the presence of c18:2. Furthermore, Na+/H+ antiport activity was strengthened by exogenous c16:0 and c18:2, and c18:2 was more effective than c16:0. carbide Behavior during High Temperature creep in DZ40M co-base Superalloy

The carbide behavior of a directionally solidified co-base superalloy DZ40M has been investigated after creep at 700 degrees c and 900 degrees c. During the high temperature creep, a great amount of secondary carbide, M23c6 precipitated in alloy matrix. At 700 degrees c, the M23c6 precipitation occurred in slip bands, indicating that it was stress-induced, while at 900 degrees c, M23c6 formed surrounding the primary carbides, which is a characteristic of thermally aged alloy. The M23c6 particles pinned up dislocations and subgrain boundaries, strengthening the alloy matrix effectively. The creep crack initiation of DZ40M alloy was exclusively related to the primary carbides. The fracture of the primary carbide and the crack at the interface between them and matrix resulted in the crack formation. Furthermore, it was found that at 900 degrees c, the surface of specimens was oxidized severely and the preferentially oxidized primary carbides acted as crack initiation sites.

Liver abnormalities following SARS-coV 2 infection in children 1 to 10 years of age

Towards global coverage of gridded parameterization for cLImate GENerator(cLIGEN)

Stochastic weather generators create time series that reproduce key weather dynamics present in long-term *** dataset detailed herein is a large-scale gridded parameterization for cLImate GENerator(cLIGEN)that fills spatial gaps in the coverage of existing regional cLIGEN parameterizations,thereby obtaining near-global availability of combined *** dataset primarily covers countries north of 40°latitude with 0.25°spatial *** cLIGEN parameters were estimated based on 20-year records from four popular global climate *** parameters were statistically downscaled to estimate point-scale values,while point-scale temperature and solar radiation parameters were approximated by direct calculation from high-resolution *** parameter values were used in some cases,such as with wind ***-validation was done to assess the downscaling approach for six precipitation parameters using known point-scale values from ground-based cLIGEN *** parameter values were derived from daily accumulation records at 7,281 stations and high temporal resolution records at 609 *** sensitive parameters,monthly average storm accumulation and maximum 30-minute intensity,were shown have RMSE values of 1.48 mm and 4.67 mm hr^(−1),*** precipitation and the annual number of days with precipitation occurrence were both within 5%of ground-based parameterizations,effectively improving climate data availability.

Near Earth Vortices Driving of Field Aligned currents Based on Magnetosphere Multiscale and Swarm Observations

A long-standing mystery in the study of Field-Aligned currents(FAcs) has been that: how the currents are generated and why they appear to be much stronger at high altitudes than in the ionosphere. Here we present two events of magnetotail FAcs observed by the Magnetospheric Multiscale Spacecraft(MMS) on 1 st July and 14 th July 2016, to show how the Substorm current Wedges(ScW) were formed. The results show that particles were transferred heading towards the Earth during the expansion phase of *** azimuthal flow formed clockwise(counter-clockwise) vortex-like motion, and then generated downward(upward) FAcs on the tailward/poleward side of the distorted field with opposite vorticity on their Earthward/equatorward side. We also analyzed the Region 1 FAcs observed by the Earth Explorer Swarm spacecraft on 1 st July 2016 and found that they were associated with FAcs observed by MMS, although differing by a factor of 10. This difference suggests that either there was the closure of the currents at altitudes above 500 km or the currents were not strictly parallel to B and closed at longitudes away from where they were generated.

The scrub jungles of the southwestern India support different mushrooms of economic *** coral mushrooms belong to the genus Ramaria distributed worldwide and many species are edible,medicinal and *** versatilis occurring in scrub jungles were analyzed for biochemical profile and antioxidant *** tests of uncooked samples showed presence of saponins,flavonoids,alkaloids,terpenoids and coumarins,whereas the cooked samples possess saponins,alkaloids,terpenoids,cardiac glycosides and *** assessment revealed significantly higher quantities of total phenolics as well as vitamin c in uncooked than cooked *** total antioxidant activity,ferrous ion-chelation capacity and DPPH radical-scavenging activity were also significantly high in uncooked ***,substrates,mycorrhizal association and edibility of different Ramaria occurring in the Western Ghats region have been reviewed with comparison of nutritional and antioxidant potential of *** with other Ramaria spp.
