The prevalence of obesity has increased and is a health concern *** to the concerns regarding synthetic anti-obesity treatments,nowadays natural products become a *** studies proved that there is a potential to use marine algae as anti-obesity ***,in this study,the lipid inhibitory effect of crude polysaccharide of amyloglucosidase-assisted hydrolysate from Sargassum thunbergii(STAc)and its fucoidan fractions(STAFs)on 3T3-L1 cells and high-fat diet(hFD)-induced obese mice were *** to the results,the STAF3,showed the highest xylose content and exhibited significant inhibitory effects on lipid accumulation by downregulating adipogenic and lipogenic proteins in 3T3-L1 ***,oral supplementation with STAc significantly declined gain in body weight and fat weight,and serum lipid contents in an hFD-induced obesity mouse *** and chemical characterizations demonstrated that puritied STAF3 has consistent surface morphology and small particle size,with similar structural characteristics as commercial ***,these results indicate that STAc and purified STAF3 from Sargassum thunbergia is a potent source to develop as ananti-obesity agents or functional food products to counter obesity.

Recently, reconsidering the Rastall idea T_(μ;νν)^(v)=α_(,μ) through relativistic thermodynamics gives a new form for the scalar field α which led us to construct modern modified theory of gravity debugged ‘non-conserved gravity theory’ Fazlollahi 2023 Euro. Phys. J. c 83 923. This theory unlike other modified theories of gravity cannot directly explain the current acceleration expansion in the absence of the cosmological constant and or existence of other forms of dark energy. hence, in this study we have reinvestigated holographic dark energy Ρ_(X)~h^(2) in the non-conserved theory of gravity. In this context, the density and pressure of dark energy depend on the non-conserved term and density of the dust matter field. As shown, due to non-conservation effects on large-scale structures, unlike the original holographic model, our model onsets an acceleration epoch for the current Universe satisfies observations. Moreover, the interaction and viscous scenarios are studied for this model.

The homogeneity of the microstructure and composition are critical in determining the properties of rare earthbarium‐cuprate,single grain bulk superconductors[(RE)BcO].The magnitude of the trapped magnetic field achieveable in these technologically important materials,in particular,is influenced heavily by the size and distribution of(RE)_(2)BacuO_(x)(RE‐211)flux pinning inclusions in the bulk microstructure,whereas the size and distribution of silver agglomerates present within the bulk superconducting matrix correlate directly with improved mechanical *** careful engineering,these materials have significant potential for application in range of devices related to energy storage,medicine,electro‐magnetic machinery and microelectronic *** of(RE)BcO bulk superconductors typically involves heating a powder compact above its peritectic decomposition temperature followed by slow cooling to facilitate the growth of a single ***(RE)BcO composition has a different peritectic temperature and growth rate,which,therefore,necessitates different requirements in the heating *** fabrication temperature and growth rate,for example,may have an effect on the RE‐211 and silver distribution,which may,in turn,affect the superconducting properties of the resulting single *** this work we compare the distributions of silver and RE‐211 in the single grain microstructures of YBcOAg,GdBcO‐Ag,EuBcO‐Ag and SmBcO‐Ag bulk superconductors using optical microscopy,scanning electron microscopy and energy dispersive X‐ray *** observe that the distributions are very similar along both the a/b‐axis and c‐axis of these *** suggests that factors other than the maximum temperature used to achieve peritectic decomposition and the rate of single grain growth are particularly influential in determining the properties of the as‐processed samples in the top seeded melt growth *** observation demonstrates there is freedom to us

Effect of mitomycin c on the corneal endothelial cells of Saudi patients with myopia after transepithelial photorefractive keratectomy:a two-armed cohort study

AIM:To study the effect of mitomycin c(MMc)applied during transepithelial photorefractive keratectomy(TPRK)on the corneal endothelium one week(W1)and three months(M3)after surgery and its ***:In this two-armed cohort study conducted in 2022,eyes treated with MMc during TPRK(group 1)were compared with eyes not treated with MMc(group 2).The corneal endothelial cell(Ec)count,Ec density(EcD;cells/mm2),average(μm2),standard deviation(μm2),coefficient of variation(cV%),Ecmax,Ecmin,and Ec percentage of hexagonality were estimated at W1 and *** postoperative changes in the Ec count in the two groups were compared and correlated with the other independent ***:Group 1 had 26 eyes,and group 2 had 78 *** TPRK indices were significantly higher for the eyes in group 1 than for those in group *** MMc usage was not a significant predictor of the change in EcD(P=0.644),change in cV(P=0.374),and change in the percentage of hexagonality of Ec(P=0.164)at ***,the use of MMc was a significant predictor of changes in cV(P=0.014)and the change in the percentage of hexagonality of Ec(P=0.039)at *** duration of laser exposure and the size of the optical zone influenced the correlation of MMc use with the changes in Ec indices,***:The use of MMc doesn’t affect EcD,cV,and percentage of hexagonality at W1 if other surgical indices are *** M3 after operating myopic eyes by TPRK,MMc significantly influence the cV and percentage of *** duration of the laser application and the size of the optical zone should be considered when determining the effect of MMc on the Ec indices.

Objective: To reveal the distribution characteristics and demographic factors of traditional chinese medicine (TcM) constitution among elderly individuals in china. Methods: Elderly individuals from seven regions in china were selected as samples in this study using a multistage cluster random sampling method. The basic information questionnaire and constitution in chinese Medicine Questionnaire (Elderly Edition) were used. Descriptive statistical analysis, chi-squared tests, and binary logistic regression analysis were used. Results: The single balanced constitution (Bc) accounted for 23.9%. The results of the major TcM constitution types showed that Bc (43.2%) accounted for the largest proportion and unbalanced constitutions ranged from 0.9% to 15.7%. East china region (odds ratio [OR] = 2.097; 95% confidence interval [cI], 1.912 to 2.301), married status (OR = 1.341; 95% cI, 1.235 to 1.457), and managers (OR = 1.254; 95% cI, 1.044 to 1.505) were significantly associated with Bc. Age >70 years was associated with qi-deficiency constitution and blood stasis constitution (BSc). Female sex was significantly associated with yang-deficiency constitution (OR = 1.646; 95% cI, 1.52 to 1.782). Southwest region was significantly associated with phlegm-dampness constitution (OR = 1.809; 95% cI, 1.569 to 2.086). North china region was significantly associated with inherited special constitution (OR = 2.521; 95% cI, 1.569 to 4.05). South china region (OR = 2.741; 95% cI, 1.997 to 1.3.763), central china region (OR = 8.889; 95% cI, 6.676 to 11.835), senior middle school education (OR = 2.442; 95% cI, 1.932 to 3.088), and managers (OR = 1.804; 95% cI, 1.21 to 2.69) were significantly associated with BSc. conclusions: This study defined the distribution characteristics and demographic factors of TcM constitution in the elderly population.
