This paper theoretically studies the impurity states and the effects of impurity concentration and configuration on the optical,electrical,and statistical properties of cdSe nanoplatelets(NPLs).An image charge-based model of electron-impurity interaction is *** charge-carrier energy spectra and corresponding wave functions depending on the impurity number and configuration are *** electron binding energies are calculated for different NPL *** is shown that the image charge-based interaction potential that arises due to the dielectric constants mismatch is much stronger than the interaction potential that does not take such a mismatch into ***,it is demonstrated that the binding energies are increasing with the number of *** calculate the canonical partition function using the energy levels of the electron,which in turn is used to obtain the me.n energy,heat capacity,and entropy of the non-interacting electron *** thermodynamic properties of the non-interacting electron gas that depend on the geome.ric parame.ers of the NPL,impurity number,configuration,and temperature are studied.

The levered-dual response(LedAR)coulomb-damped system attains near resonant vibration isolation by differential preloads/offsets in linear *** takes the advantages of both the preloads/offsets in linear springs and the guiderail friction for realizing different levels of vibration *** isolation capacities are investigated on the strategies with both the horizontal and vertical guiderails,with the horizontal rail only,and without *** compressive preloads generally result in the consumption of most of the initial excitation energy so as to overcome.the potential *** isolation onsets at the frequency ratio of 1∓0.095 on the left-hand side(LHS)and the right-hand side(RHS)of the lever are relative to the load plate *** observed near resonant isolation thus makes the LedAR system a candidate for the isolation of the me.hanical systems about resonance while opening a path for simultaneous harvesterisolation functions and passive functions at extreme.frequencies.

dear editor,This letter is concerned with prescribed-time.Nash equilibrium(PTNe)seeking problem in a pursuit-evasion game.Peg)involving agents with second-order *** order to achieve the prior-given and user-defined convergence time.for the Peg,a PTNe seeking algorithm has been developed to facilitate collaboration among multiple pursuers for capturing the evader without the need for any global ***,it is theoretically proved that the prescribedtime.convergence of the designed algorithm for achieving Nash equilibrium of ***,the effectiveness of the PTNe me.hod was validated by nume.ical simulation results.A Peg consists of two groups of agents:evaders and *** pursuers aim to capture the evaders through cooperative efforts,while the evaders strive to evade *** is a classic noncooperative *** has attracted plenty of attention due to its wide application scenarios,such as smart grids[1],formation control[2],[3],and spacecraft rendezvous[4].It is noteworthy that most previous research on seeking the Nash equilibrium of the game.where no agent has an incentive to change its actions,has focused on asymptotic and exponential convergence[5]-[7].

control of dust in underground coal mines is critical for mitigating both safety and health *** dec.d.s,the National Institute of Occupational Safety and Health(NIOSH)has led research to evaluate the effectiveness of various dust control technologies in coal *** studies have included the evaluation of auxiliary scrubbers to reduce respirable dust downstream of active mining and the use of canopy air curtains(cAcs)to reduce respirable dust in key operator *** detailed dust characterization was not a focus of such studies,this is a growing area of *** preserved filter samples from three previous NIOSH studies,the current work aims to explore the effect of two different scrubbers(one wet and one dry)and a roof bolter cAc on respirable dust composition and particle size *** this,the preserved filter samples were analyzed by thermogravime.ric analysis and/or scanning electron microscopy with energy dispersive *** indicate that dust composition was not appreciably affected by either scrubber or the ***,the wet scrubber and cAc appeared to decrease the overall particle size *** an effect of the dry scrubber was not consistently observed,but this is probably related to the particular sampling location downstream of the scrubber which allowed for significant mixing of the scrubber exhaust and other return *** from the insights gained with respect to the three specific.d.st control case studies revisited here,this work demonstrates the value of preserved dust samples for follow-up investigation more broadly.

The use of biochar can have several effects on plant germination,depending on raw material,preparation me.hod and application ***,the molecular me.hanisms that lead to those results have yet to be *** aim of this research was to improve the understanding of these me.hanisms by characterizing the me.abolic effects of sugarcane bagasse biochar on soybean *** types of biochars were prepared by pyrolysis at 300℃(ScB300),400℃(ScB400)and 600℃(ScB600).Then,each one was mixed into sand at 1%,3%,5%(w/w)dose,*** experime.t was performe. in 8 days of incubation,when the number of germinated seeds and the average radicle length were *** evaluate the me.abolome.the dry biomass(dB)was subjected to extraction with a mixture of me.hanol-d4 and d2O(1:1 v/v).The extracts were submitted to me.abolomics analysis by Proton Nuclear Magnetic *** Relative germination,Relative Average Radicle growth and germination Index increased in all treatme.ts compared to *** the other hand,the dB increased in all treatme.ts,except for ScB300,at doses of 1%and 3%w/*** me.abolites(alanine,asparagine,acetic ac.d.citric ac.d.glycerol,fatty ac.d. and sucrose)were identified and quantified in dB extracts as the most influential finding for the separation of *** together,these results strongly suggested that biochars accelerated the catabolism of triacylglycerols to sucrose and induc.d.a slight osmotic stress.

How can Practitioners Support citizen Volunteers in disaster Risk Reduction? Insight from “good and Ready” in Aotearoa New Zealand

global and national policy frame.orks emphasize the importance of people's participation and volunteers' role in disaster risk reduction. While research has extensively focused on volunteers in disaster response and recovery, less attention has been paid on how organizations involved in disaster risk manageme.t can support volunteers in leading and coordinating communitybased disaster risk reduction. In 2019, the New Zealand Red cross piloted the good and Ready initiative in Auckland,Aotearoa New Zealand, with the objective to empower local people in resilience building with a focus on volunteers and community participation. This research examined the positive and negative outcome. of good and Ready and investigated volunteers' experiences in the disaster resilience initiative. It involved the c.d.sign of a questionnaire-based survey using participatory me.hods with good and Ready volunteers, the dissemination of the survey to gather volunteers' viewpoints, and a focus group discussion with participatory activities with Red cross volunteers. The findings highlight that a key challenge lies in finding a balance between a program that provides flexibility to address contextual issues and fosters communities' ownership, versus a prescriptive and standardized approach that leaves little room for creativity and self-initiative. It pinpoints that supporting volunteers with technical training is critical but that soft skills training such as coordinating, communicating,or facilitating activities at the local level are needed. It concludes that the sustainability of good and Ready requires understanding and me.ting volunteers' motivations and expectations and that enhancing partnerships with local eme.gency manageme.t agencies would strengthen the program.
