Fe-N_(x) sites coupled with core-shell FeS@c nanoparticles to boost the oxygen catalysis for rechargeable Zn-air batteries

The development of efficient single-atom catalysts(SAcs) for the oxygen reduction reaction(ORR)remains a formidable challenge,primarily due to the symmetric charge distribution of metal singleatom sites(M-N_(4)).To address such issue,herein,Fe-N_(x) sites coupled synergistic catalysts fabrication strategy is presented to break the uniform electronic distribution,thus enhancing the intrinsic catalytic activity.Precisely,atomically dispersed Fe-N_(x) sites supported on N/S-doped mesoporous carbon(NSc)coupled with FeS@c core-shell nanoparticles(FAS-NSc@950) is synthesized by a facile hydrothermal reaction and subsequent pyrolysis.Due to the presence of an in situ-grown conductive graphitic layer(shell),the FeS nanoparticles(core) effectively adjust the electronic structure of single-atom Fe sites and facilitate the ORR kinetics via short/long-range coupling interactions.consequently,FAS-NSc@950displays a more positive half-wave potential(E_(1/2)) of 0.871 V with a significantly boosted ORR kinetics(Tafel slope=52.2 mV dec^(-1)),outpacing the commercial Pt/c(E_(1/2)=0.84 V and Tafel slope=54.6 mV dec^(-1)).As a bifunctional electrocatalyst,it displays a smaller bifunctional activity parameter(ΔE) of 0.673 V,surpassing the Pt/c-RuO_(2) combination(ΔE=0.724 V).Besides,the FAS-NSc@950-based zincair battery(ZAB) displays superior power density,specific capacity,and long-term cycling performance to the Pt/c-Ir/c-based ZAB.This work significantly contributes to the field by offering a promising strategy to enhance the catalytic activity of SAcs for ORR,with potential implications for energy conversion and storage technologies.

carrimycin(cA),sanctioned by china’s National Medical Products Administration(NMPA)in 2019 for treating acute bronchitis and sinusitis,has recently been observed to exhibit multifaceted biological activities,encompassing anti-inflammatory,antiviral,and anti-tumor properties.Despite these applications,its efficacy in sepsis treatment remains unexplored.This study introduces a novel function of cA,demonstrating its capacity to mitigate sepsis induced by lipopolysaccharide(LPS)and cecal ligation and puncture(cLP)in mice models.Our research employed in vitro assays,real-time quantitative polymerase chain reaction(RT-qPcR),and RNA-seq analysis to establish that cA significantly reduces the levels of pro-inflammatory cytokines,namely tumor necrosis factor-alpha(TNF-α),interleukin 1 beta(IL-1β),and interleukin 6(IL-6),in response to LPS stimulation.Additionally,Western blotting and immunofluorescence assays revealed that cA impedes Nuclear Factor Kappa B(NF-κB)activation in LPS-stimulated RAW264.7 cells.complementing these findings,in vivo experiments demonstrated that cA effectively alleviates LPS-and cLP-triggered organ inflammation in c57BL/6 mice.Further insights were gained through 16S sequencing,highlighting cA’s pivotal role in enhancing gut microbiota diversity and modulating metabolic pathways,particularly by augmenting the production of short-chain fatty acids in mice subjected to cLP.Notably,a comparative analysis revealed that cA’s anti-inflammatory efficacy surpasses that of equivalent doses of aspirin(ASP)and TIENAM.collectively,these findings suggest that cA exhibits significant therapeutic potential in sepsis treatment.This discovery provides a foundational theoretical basis for the clinical application of cA in sepsis management.

Background:Sinusitis is a common diagnosis that can be erroneously associated with routine weather‐related barometric pressure changes.In actuality,these pressure changes likely exacerbate migraine headaches,which can cause facial pain and pressure rather than true sinus inflammation.Objective:The present study sought to characterize the representation of both sinusitis and migraine in association with barometric pressure changes across websites on the Internet.Methods:An Internet search for relevant terms was conducted,and content of the resulting pages was assessed for associations between weather‐related pressure changes and either sinusitis or migraine.Variations in reported results across different subtypes of Internet sources were analyzed.The primary outcomes measured were(1)whether a given media source associated barometric weather changes with sinusitis,(2)whether that source associated barometric weather changes with migraine,and(3)treatment options offered by that source.Results:Of the 116 included webpages,36(31.03%)associated sinusitis and routine barometric pressure changes.Of these,10(27.77%)were otolaryngology practice sites.Sixty‐seven webpages(57.76%)associated migraine and routine barometric pressure changes.Of these,nonotolaryngology webpages were more likely to report this link.conclusions:Otolaryngology practice sites were observed to be the most frequent professional medical resource reporting the unsubstantiated claim that routine barometric pressure changes are associated with sinusitis.Nonotolaryngology sources were more likely to link weather‐related pressure changes to migraine.These results suggest that opportunities exist for otolaryngology practice sites to educate patients about nonrhinogenic headache etiologies.

Mn-doped LiFePO_(4)@c as a high-performance cathode material for lithium-ion batteries

Dopamine plays a complex role in sleep-wake systems. The exact effect of dopamine on these behaviors may depend on the downstream target of dopamine pathways. Using selective chemogenetic stimulation in rats, we dissected midbrain dopaminergic nigrostriatal and mesolimbic pathways and their effects on sleep. chemogenetic stimulation of nigrostriatal pathways increased sleep and cortical EEG delta power, while chemogenetic stimulation of mesolimbic pathways decreased sleep and cortical EEG power. These results indicate that midbrain dopamine（DA） in the basal ganglia has distinct roles in sleep-wake regulation.

In this work,LiFe_(1-x)MnxPO_(4)@c(x=0,0.01,0.02,0.03)cathode materials were obtained by a simple co-precipitation method and heat treatment,and the influence of Mn-doped modification on the electrochemical performance of LiFePO_(4)@c cathode materials was investigated.Results show that by doping an appropriate amount of Mn,the cell volume became larger,and the electronic conductivity increased,which improved the Li+diffusion rate and thus its rate capability and cycle performance of Li-ion batteries.Among them,LiFe_(0.98)Mn_(0.02)PO_(4)@c showed superior lithium storage capability;the discharge capacity can reach 150.7 mAh g^(−1)at 0.1 c.The cell could discharge up to 155.9 mAh g^(−1)at 1 c under high temperature at 45°c,which was higher than LiFePO_(4)@c(142 mAh g^(−1))under the same test conditions.The discharge capacity of 1 c at room temperature was 139.9 mAh g^(−1),and the cycle stability was 95.9%after 200 cycles.It showed that it had good rate capability and excellent cycle performance.These results indicate that Mn-doped LFP is a simple and effective strategy for developing high-performance cathode materials.

carbonyl compounds have attracted considerable attention due to their extensive applications in drug discovery.Furthermore,they are important synthetic intermediates for the construction of carbon-carbon and carbon-heteroatom bonds.Transition-metal-catalyzed carbonylation via the insertion of co is one of the most efficient and straightforward strategies to access carbonyl compounds.However,most of the transition-metal-catalyzed carbonylative reactions require expensive and toxic noble-metal catalysts.Therefore,there is a growing demand for the exploration of nickel-catalyzed carbonylative reactions via the insertion of cO due to the earth abundance and low cost of nickel.compared with the well-established palladium-catalyzed carbonylative reactions,nickel-catalyzed analogous transformations have been relatively underdeveloped.This is primarily because cO strongly binds to nickel,often resulting in catalyst poisoning.In recent years,some research groups have focused on using cO surrogates or NN_(2) pincer nickel catalyst to circumvent the formation of Ni(cO)_(4).Nickel-catalyzed carbonylation has been applied in the construction of carbonyl-containing compounds,such as ketones,carboxylic acids,thioesters,acyl chloride and carboxamides.

Sex-specific facilitation and reproduction of the gynodioecious cushion plant Arenaria polytrichoides on the Himalaya-Hengduan mountains,SW china

When benefiting other beneficiaries,cushion plants may reciprocally receive feedback effects.The feedback effects on different sex morphs,however,remains unclear.In this study,taking the gynodioecious Arenaria polytrichiodes as a model species,we aimed to assess the sex-specific facilitation intensity of cushion plant by measuring the beneficiary cover ratio,and to assess the potential costs in cushion reproductive functions by measuring the flower and fruit cover ratios.The total beneficiary cover ratio was similar between females and hermaphrodites.Females produced much less flowers but more fruits than hermaphrodites.These results suggested that females and hermaphrodites possess similar facilitation intensity,and female cushion A.polytrichoides may allocate more resources saved from pollen production to seed production,while hermaphrodites possibly allocate more resources to pollen production hence reducing seed production.The surface areas covered by beneficiaries produced less flowers and fruits than areas without beneficiaries.In addition,strong negative correlations between beneficiary cover and flower cover were detected for both females and hermaphrodites,but the correlation strength were similar for these two sex morphs.However,the correlation between beneficiary cover and fruit cover was only significantly negative for females,suggesting that beneficiary plants negatively affect fruit reproduction of females while have neutral effects on hermaphrodites.All the results suggest that to facilitate other beneficiaries can induce reproductive costs on cushion A.polytrichoides,with females possibly suffering greater cost than hermaphrodites.Such differentiation in reproductive costs between sex morphs,in long-term perspective,may imply sex imbalance in population dynamics.
