Targeting epigenetic mechanisms in amyloid-β-mediated Alzheimer’s pathophysiology:unveiling therapeutic potential

Alzheimer’s disease is a prominent chronic neurodegenerative condition characterized by a gradual decline in memory leading to *** evidence suggests that Alzheimer’s disease is associated with accumulating various amyloid-βoligomers in the brain,influenced by complex genetic and environmental *** memory and cognitive deficits observed during the prodromal and mild cognitive impairment phases of Alzheimer’s disease are believed to primarily result from synaptic *** life,environmental factors can lead to enduring changes in gene expression and the emergence of brain *** changes,known as epigenetic modifications,also play a crucial role in regulating the formation of synapses and their adaptability in response to neuronal *** this context,we highlight recent advances in understanding the roles played by key components of the epigenetic machinery,specifically DNA methylation,histone modification,and microRNAs,in the development of Alzheimer’s disease,synaptic function,and activity-dependent synaptic ***,we explore various strategies,including enriched environments,exposure to non-invasive brain stimulation,and the use of pharmacological agents,aimed at improving synaptic function and enhancing long-term potentiation,a process integral to epigenetic ***,we deliberate on the development of effective epigenetic agents and safe therapeutic approaches for managing Alzheimer’s *** suggest that addressing Alzheimer’s disease may require distinct tailored epigenetic drugs targeting different disease stages or pathways rather than relying on a single drug.

Transport mechanism in chemically reactive hybrid nanofluid flow containing gyrotactic micro-organisms over a curved oscillatory surface

This paper examines the transport analysis, including both heat transfer and mass transfer, in hybrid nanofluid flow containing gyrotactic microorganisms towards a curved oscillatory surface. The influence of magnetic fields is also inspected in terms of their physical characteristics. To depict the phenomena of transport, modified versions of both Fick's and Fourier's laws are used. Additionally, the characteristics of both heterogeneous and homogeneous chemical reactions are also incorporated. Utilizing a curvilinear coordinate system, the flow problem is formulated as partial differential equations(PDEs)for momentum, concentration, microorganism field, and energy. An analytical solution to the obtained flow equations is achieved utilizing the homotopy analysis method(HAM).The effects of significant flow parameters on the pressure and microorganism fields, velocity, oscillation velocity, concentration, and temperature distributions are shown via graphs. Furthermore, the variations in skin friction, mass transfer rate, heat transfer rate, and local motile number due to different involved parameters are presented in tables and are analyzed in detail. Graphical results indicate that the curves of velocity and temperature fields are enhanced as the values of the solid volume fraction variables *** is also verified that the concentration rate field decreases as the values of the homogeneous reaction strength parameter and the radius of curvature parameter increase, and it increases with the Schmidt number and the heterogeneous reaction strength *** outcomes show a favorable response of the motile number to advanced values of the Peclet number, the Schmidt number, the microorganism difference parameter, and the bio-convective Lewis number.

Determination of surface structure and the depth profile of silica glass by infrared spectroscopy

The surface structure and properties are different from those of the bulk, depending on the substrate materials and deposition condition, and playing an important role in precise optical components. The conventional spectroscopic methods to monitor the surface structure are restricted only in several layers of molecules. It is known that the penetration depth of the incident light increases with its wavelength and decreases with the angle of incidence. Thus infrared spectroscopy provides a powerful means for determination of surface structure and the depth profile up to micrometers. By recording the reflection spectra at different angles of incidence, the surface structure and its depth profile can be monitored successively. Further, the incident field has the subcomponents parallel and perpendicular to the surface, which excite the transverse and longitudinal optic modes, respectively. change of the polarization direction of the incident light provides a practical function to study anisotropic property of the surface and the interaction between the transverse and longitudinal optic modes. In this work, infrared spectrophotometer was applied to investigate the depth profile in microstructure of silica glass. combining with the glass fiber system, this technique can be used for in-situ control of the deposition process. In comparing with ellipsometry, this method reveals both structural and constitutional information.

Flocking and clustering in mixtures of self-propelled particles with or without active reorientation

We study phase behaviors of mixtures comprising active particles with and without active reorientation by varying mixing *** observe that the order parameter characterizing flocking in the steady state exhibits a linear decrease with an increase in mixing *** the order parameter characterizing clustering in the steady state presents a sharp leap as the mixing ratio ***,we obtain phase diagrams of flocking under different mixing ratios and observe that the domain corresponding to flocking experiences a contraction with the increase of mixing ***,the coordinates of the critical point on the phase boundary between the flocking and the disordered phase decay exponentially with the mixing ratio.

Preliminary performance analysis and optimization based on 1D neutronics model for Indian DEMO HccB blanket

India,under its breeding blanket R&D program for DEMO,is focusing on the development of two tritium breeding blanket concepts;namely the lead-lithium-cooled ceramic breeder and the helium-cooled ceramic breeder(HccB).The study presented in this paper focuses on the neutronic design analysis and optimization from the tritium breeding perspective of the HccB *** Indian concept has an edge-on configuration and is one of the variants of the helium-cooled solid breeder blanket concepts proposed by several partner countries in *** Indian HccB blanket having lithium titanate(Li2TiO3)as the tritium breeder and beryllium(Be)as the neutron multiplier with reduced-activation ferritic/martensitic steel structure aims at utilizing the low-energy neutrons at the rear part of the *** aim of the optimization study is to minimize the radial blanket thickness while ensuring tritium self-sufficiency and provide data for further neutronic design and thermal-hydraulic layout of the HccB *** is found that inboard and outboard blanket thicknesses of 40 cm and 60 cm,respectively,can give a tritium breeding ratio(TBR)>1.3,with 60%6Li enrichment,which is assumed to be sufficient to cover potential tritium losses and associated *** results also demonstrated that the Be packing fraction(PF)has a more profound impact on the TBR as compared to 6Li enrichment and the PF of Li2TiO3.

crack Initiation Mechanism of z3cN20.09M Duplex Stainless Steel during corrosion Fatigue in Water and Air at 290 °c

The crack initiation mechanism of a z3cN20.09M duplex stainless steel （DSS） during corrosion fatigue （cF） in water and air at 290 ℃ was investigated by using a cF cracking machine and a scanning electron microscopy （SEM）. The cracks were initiated successively at the persistent stip bands （PSBs）, phase boundaries （PBs） and pitting corrosion points （PcPs） of the specimens when they were tested in water at 290 ℃, while in airat 290 ℃ the cracks were only initiated at the PSBs and PBs. And the cracks were found mainly to initiate at the PSBs and PBs when the specimens were tested in water and air at 290 ℃, respectively. The results also reveal that the cracks were likely to be initiated at the first 20% of fatigue life of the specimens tested in water at 290 ℃. However, the cracks were not found until 50% of fatigue life when tested in air at 290 ℃. Moreover, the crack numbers of the specimens tested in water at 290 ℃ were much more than those tested in air at 290 ℃.

Numerical investigation on the flowfield of “swallowtail” cavity for supersonic mixing enhancement

A ＂swallowtail＂ cavity for the supersonic combustor was proposed to serve as an efficient flame holder for scramjets by enhancing the mass exchange between the cavity and the main flow. A numerical study on the ＂swallow- tail＂ cavity was conducted by solving the three-dimensional Reynolds-averaged Navier-Stokes equations implemented with a k-e turbulence model in a multi-block mesh. Turbu- lence model and numerical algorithms were validated first, and then test cases were calculated to investigate into the mechanism of cavity flows. Numerical results demonstrated that the certain mass in the supersonic main flow was sucked into the cavity and moved spirally toward the combustor walls. After that, the flow went out of the cavity at its lateral end, and finally was efficiently mixed with the main flow. The comparison between the ＂swallowtail＂ cavity and the conventional one showed that the mass exchanged between the cavity and the main flow was enhanced by the lateral flow that was induced due to the pressure gradient inside the cavity and was driven by the three-dimensional vortex ring generated from the ＂swallowtail＂ cavity structure.

Grids of stellar models including second harmonic and colors:solar composition(z = 0.0172,X = 0.7024)

Grids of stellar evolution omy/astrophysics, such as planet hosting are required in many fields of astron- stars, binaries, clusters, chemically peculiar stars, etc. In this study, a grid of stellar evolution models with updated ingredients and recently determined solar abundances is presented. The solar values for the initial abundances of hydrogen, heavy elements and mixing-length parameter are 0.0172, 0.7024 and 1.98, respectively. The mass step is small enough （0.01 M） that interpolation for a given star mass is not required. The range of stellar mass is 0.74 to 10.00M. We present results in different forms of tables for easy and general appli- cation. The second stellar harmonic, required for analysis of apsidal motion of eclips- ing binaries, is also listed. We also construct rotating models to determine the effect of rotation on stellar structure and derive fitting formulae for luminosity, radius and the second harmonic as a function of rotational parameter. We also compute and list colors and bolometric corrections of models required for transformation between theo- retical and observational results. The results are tested for the Sun, the Hyades cluster, the slowly rotating chemically peculiar Am stars and eclipsing binaries with apsidal motion. The theoretical and observational results along isochrones are in good agree- ment. The grids are also applicable to rotating stars provided that equatorial velocity is given.
