Bottom flow energy dissipation is one of the common energy dissipation methods for flood-releasing structures with high water head. Measures of this energy dissipation depend mainly on the turbulent action of hydraulic jump. In this paper, the physical process and the calculating methods of the atomization caused by bottom flow energy dissipation were studied, the computation models of atomization quantity for the self-aerated flow in overflow and hydraulic jump regions are presented, and the main results are of theoretical and practical significance for the hydraulic and electric engineering.

corn distillers dried grains with solubles(DDGS) is a co-product of the fuel ethanol industry that is an excellent source of energy, digestible amino acids, and digestible phosphorus. However, the antioxidant capacity and phytochemical content of DDGS and how it is influenced by production parameters is unknown. Therefore, 16 DDGS samples obtained from different ethanol production plants in the *** characterized for antioxidant capacity, vitamin E, xanthophylls, and ferulic acid content and compared with corn. The antioxidant capacity of DDGS samples, measured using the 2,2-diphenyl-lpicrylhydrazyl(DPPH) assay, varied almost 2 folds among samples, but in all cases was more than 3 times that of corn. All DDGS samples had a considerably greater concentration of tocopherols and tocotrienols(lipid-soluble antioxidants) than corn. However, the relative concentrations among the tocopherols and tocotrienols tended to be similar to corn. The xanthophyll lutein was present in all DDGS samples and in all cases exceeded the content in corn. Zeaxanthin was detected in most samples. The total ferulic acid content of the DDGS samples was almost 3-fold greater than corn, but, as in corn, almost all was present in a bound form. However, the concentration of unbound(free) ferulic acid was more than 3 times the concentration found in the corn sample. Thus, DDGS is a rich source of phytochemical compounds and may provide antioxidant and health benefits beyond its macronutrient composition. However, differences in processing can greatly influence the phytochemical content and quality of DDGS. In particular,thermal abuse due to excessive heat used in drying may lead to lipid oxidation products that may have deleterious effects when incorporated into feeds.

The aerodynamic loads of wind turbine blades are substantially affected by dynamic stall induced by the variations of the angle of attack of local airfoil *** purpose of the present study is to explore the effect of leading-edge protuberances on the fluctuation of the aerodynamic performances for wind turbine airfoil during dynamic *** experimental investigation is carried out by a direct force measurement technique employing force balance at a Reynolds number Re=2×*** phase-averaged and instantaneous aerodynamic loads of the pitching airfoil,including the baseline and the wavy airfoil,are presented and *** phase-averaged results indicate that the effects of dynamic stall for the wavy airfoil can be delayed or minimized compared to the baseline airfoil,and the negative damping area of the wavy airfoil is significant decreased in full-stall *** effects of leading-edge protuberances are more notable at a higher reduced *** the instantaneous aerodynamic loads of the wavy airfoil,there is an observable reduction in fluctuations compared with baseline ***,spectral analysis is applied to quantitatively undercover the nonstationary features of the instantaneous aerodynamic *** is found that the leading edge protuberances can reduce the harmonics of the aerodynamic force signal,and enhance the stability of the aerodynamic loads under different reduced *** conclusion,leading-edge protuberances are found effective to reduce the fluctuation characteristics of the aerodynamic loads during the dynamic stall process,and help to improve the stability and prolong the service life of the wind turbine blades.

AIM： To evaluate the efficacy of postoperative serial assay of carcinoembryonic antigen （cEA） and cytokeratins for the detection of recurrent disease in patients with colorectal adenocarcinoma after radical surgery. METHODS： Between 1993 and 2000, 120 patients with colorectal adenocarcinoma underwent radical surgery in the Department of Surgical Gastroenterology, Federal University of Sao Paulo-Escola Paulista de Medicina, Sao Paulo, Brazil. Periodic postoperative evaluation was performed by assaying markers in peripheral serum, colonoscopy and imaging examination. Presence of cEA was detected using the Delfia^R method with 5 μg/L threshold, and cytokeratins using the LIA-mat TPA-M Prolifigen^R method with 72 U/L threshold. RESULTS： In the first postoperative year, patients without recurrent disease had normal levels of cEA （1.5 ＋ 0.9μg/L） and monoclonal tissue polypeptide antigen-M （TPA-M, 64.4 ± 47.8 U/L）, while patients with recurrences had high levels of cEA （6.9± 9.8 ;μg/L, P 〈 0.01） and TPA-M （192.2 ±328.8 U/L, P 〈 0.05）. During the second postoperative year, patients without tumor recurrence had normal levels of cEA （2.0 ± 1.8μg/L） and TPA-M （50.8±38.4 U/L）, while patients with recurrence had high levels of cEA （66.3 ±130.8 μg/L, P 〈 0.01） and TPA-M （442.7 ± 652.8 U/L, P 〈 0.05）. The mean follow-up time was 22.3 mo. There was recurrence in 23 cases. Five reoperations were performed without achieving radical excision. Rises in tumor marker levels preceded identification of recurrences： cEA in seven （30%） and TPA-M in eleven individuals （48%）. cONcLUSION： Intensive follow-up by serial assay of cEA and cytokeratins allows early detection of colorectal neoplasm recurrence.

Takayasu's arteritis and crohn's disease are chronic in-flammatory diseases of uncertain aetiology. They rarely occur together, with only twenty nine cases of co-ex-istent Takayasu's arteritis and crohn's disease reported in the literature. In 88% of these cases, Takayasu's arteritis was diagnosed simultaneously or following a diagnosis of crohn's disease. We present a case of a young caucasian medical student, incidentally found to have bilateral carotid bruits on auscultation by a colleague. Magnetic resonance angiography revealed stenoses of the common carotid arteries with estab-lished collaterals, and a diagnosis of Type 1 Takayasu's arteritis was made. An 18F-fluorodeoxyglucose positron emission tomography scan revealed no active disease. Nine months later, she presented with a short history of abdominal pain, vomiting and abdominal disten-sion. Barium follow-through and computer tomography revealed a terminal ileal stricture and proximal small bowel dilation. An extended right hemicoloectomy was performed and histopathology supported a diagnosis of crohn's disease. This case report is presented with a particular focus on the temporal relationship between these two disease processes and explores whether their concurrence is more than just co-incidence.

How sensory neurons encode axonal injury signals has been a longstanding area of neurological *** into the cellular and transcriptional changes in the injured neurons have driven many new therapeutic strategies to improve *** contrast,less focus has been centered on the systemic or transneuronal changes that may arise from these injuries and how they may impact or factor into the alterations in gene expression,physiology and neuropathology,such as mirror image pain,arising in regions either directly contralateral or those remote to the injury *** in this area is clinically *** patients with chronic unilateral pain due to multiple pathologies,many of which involve nerve trauma,there is a very high incidence of bilateral sensory abnormalities reported with 33–50%of patients with mechanical abnormalities reporting contralateral sensory abnormalities(Konopka et al.,2012).This has implications when evaluating sensory abnormalities or pain states in patients,as the contralateral side is often used as the non-affected ***,the bilateral nature of these sensory abnormalities,albeit usually less severe on the contralateral side,support that a systemic or central nervous system component is involved in this aspect of the *** highlights the need to better understand the mechanisms underlying these bilateral responses as this will likely impact therapeutic treatments for these patients.
