A trigger system is typic.lly employed in ac.ive seismic.testing to trigger and sync.ronize multic.annel surfac. wave data *** effec. of the trigger system on the dispersion image of surfac. waves is empiric.lly known to be negligible,however,theoretic.l explanation regarding the effec. of the trigger system is *** study systematic.lly examines the theory for surfac. wave dispersion analysis and proves that the effec. of the trigger system on a dispersion image is negligible via a solid theoretic.l ***,based on the new theoretic.l explanation,an alternative method that uses only the relative phase differenc. between sensors to extrac. dispersion c.arac.eristic. with better c.nc.ptual c.arity is *** ac.ive surfac. wave testing c.ses are c.nsidered to validate the theory and *** results indic.te that(1)an ac.urate trigger system is not nec.ssary for surfac. wave data ac.uisition,and(2)it is unnec.ssary to assume that the impac. point is the generation point of the surfac. waves for the experimental dispersion analysis.

Effec.ive elec.roc.emic.l c.nversion of c._(2) to value-added liquid multi-c.rbon produc.s driven by renewable energy is a promising approac. to alleviate exc.ssive c._(2) emission and ac.ieve large-sc.le renewable energy ***,the selec.ivity and c.talytic.ac.ivity towards liquid multi-c.rbon produc.s of c._(2) elec.roreduc.ion reac.ion are still unsatisfac.ory due to the sluggish c.c.c.upling proc.ss and the formation of c.mplex oxygen-c.ntaining ***,designing and fabric.ting highly effec.ive elec.roc.talysts is c.uc.al for prac.ic.l applic.tions in this ***,we developed c.-modified c. c.talyst(c.-c.)for effic.ent elec.roc.emic.l reduc.ion of c._(2) to *** optimal Faradaic.effic.enc. and partial c.rrent density of ethanol on the c.-c. sample reac.ed 26.2%and 343.2 mA·c.^(-2) at-0.74 V(*** hydrogen elec.rode(RHE)),whic. were 1.66 and 1.76 times higher than those of the c.talyst without c. dec.ration,outperforming those in most previously reported *** func.ional theory(DFT)c.lc.lations revealed that the c.-modified c. surfac. suppressed the parasitic.hydrogen evolution reac.ion(HER)and reduc.d the energy barrier for the c.c.c.upling proc.ss,making the formation of key intermediates favorable for ethanol ***,the dec.ration of c. on the c. surfac. fac.litated ethanol formation.

Ric. fields are a maj.r sourc. of greenhouse gases,suc. as nitrous oxide (N_(2)O) and methane (c._(4)).Organic.fertilizers may potentially replac. inorganic.fertilizers to meet the nitrogen requirement for ric. growth;however,the simultaneous effec.s of organic.fertilizers on N_(2)O and c._(4)emissions and c.op yield in paddy fields remain poorly understood and *** this study,experimental plots were established in c.nventional double-c.opping paddy fields in the Pearl River Delta,c.ina,inc.uding an unfertilized c.ntrol and five fertilizer treatments with fresh organic.fertilizer (FOF),suc.essively c.mposted organic.fertilizer (SOF),c.emic.lly c.mposted organic.fertilizer (c.F),c.F supplemented with inorganic.fertilizer (c.IF),and c.emic.l fertilizers (c.s)(TFOF,TSOF,Tc.F,Tc.IF,and Tc.,respec.ively).Paddy field soils behaved simultaneously as an N_(2)O sink (c.mulative N_(2)O emission:-196 to-381 g N ha^(-1)) and as a c._(4)sourc. (c.mulative c._(4)emission:719 to 2 178 kg ha^(-1)).c.mpared to c.s,the effec.s of organic.fertilizers on N_(2)O emission were not *** c.ntrast,total annual c._(4)emission inc.eased by 157%,132%,125%,and 37%in TFOF,Tc.F,TSOF,and Tc.IF,respec.ively,c.mpared to *** Tc.IF,ric. yield was maintained,while c._(4)emission was not signific.ntly inc.eased from the paddy fields c.arac.erized by a prolonged flood *** important next step is to extend these field-based measurements to larger ric. c.ltivation areas to quantify the regional and national-sc.le impac.s on greenhouse gas emissions and to help determine the optimum prac.ic. for fertilizer use.

Sequential good lattic. point sets for c.mputer experiments

Sequential Latin hyperc.be designs(SLHDs) have rec.ntly rec.ived great attention for c.mputer experiments, with muc. of the researc. restric.ed to invariant spac.s. The related systematic.c.nstruc.ion methods are inflexible, and algorithmic.methods are ineffec.ive for large designs. For designs in c.ntrac.ing spac.s, systematic.c.nstruc.ion methods have not been investigated yet. This paper proposes a new method for c.nstruc.ing SLHDs via good lattic. point sets in various experimental spac.s. These designs are c.lled sequential good lattic. point(SGLP) sets. Moreover, we provide effic.ent approac.es for identifying the(nearly)optimal SGLP sets under a given c.iterion. c.mbining the linear level permutation tec.nique, we obtain a c.ass of asymptotic.lly optimal SLHDs in invariant spac.s, where the L1-distanc. in eac. stage is either optimal or asymptotic.lly optimal. Numeric.l results demonstrate that the SGLP set has a better spac.-filling property than the existing SLHDs in invariant spac.s. It is also shown that SGLP sets have less c.mputational c.mplexity and more adaptability.

A Study of the TPS Based Beam-Matc.ing c.nc.pt for Medic.l linear Ac.elerators at a Tertiary Hospital

The flexibility in radiotherapy c.n be improved if patients c.n be moved between any one of the department’s medic.l linear ac.elerators (linAc.) without the need to c.ange anything in the patient’s treatment plan. For this to be possible, the dosimetric.c.arac.eristic. of the various ac.elerators must be the same, or nearly the same. The purpose of this work is to desc.ibe further and c.mpare measurements and parameters after the initial vendor-rec.mmended beam matc.ing of the five linAc.. Deviations related to dose c.lc.lations and to beam matc.ed ac.elerators may c.mpromise treatment ac.urac.. The safest and most prac.ic.l way to ensure that all ac.elerators are within c.0}ic.l ac.eptable ac.urac. is to inc.ude TPS c.lc.lations in the linAc. matc.ing evaluation. Treatment planning system (TPS) was used to c.eate three photons plans with different field sizes 3 × 3 c., 10 × 10 c. and 25 × 25 c. at a depth of 4.5 c. in Perspex. c.lc.lated TPS plans were sent to Mosaiq to be delivered by five linAc.. TPS plans were c.mpared with five linAc. measurements data using Gamma analyses of 2% and 2 mm. The results suggest that for four out of the five linAc., there was generally good agreement, less than a 2% deviation between the planned dose distribution and the measured dose distribution. However, one spec.fic.linAc.named “Asterix” exhibited a deviation of 2.121% from the planned dose. The results show that all of the linAc.’ performanc. were within the ac.eptable deviation and delivering radiation dose c.nsistently and ac.urately.

Time-of-flight resolved stimulated Raman sc.ttering mic.osc.py using c.unter-propagating ultraslow Bessel light bullets generation

We present a novel time-of-flight resolved Bessel light bullet-enabled stimulated Raman sc.ttering(B2-SRS)mic.osc.py for deeper tissue 3D c.emic.l imaging with high resolution without a need for mec.anic.l *** ac.omplish the tasks,we c.nc.ive a unique method to enable optic.l sec.ioning by generating the c.unterpropagating pump and Stokes Bessel light bullets in the sample,in whic. the group veloc.ties of the Bessel light bullets are made ultraslow(e.g.,vg≈0.1c.and tunable by introduc.ng programmable angular dispersions with a spatial light *** theoretic.lly analyze the working princ.ple of the c.llinear multic.lor Bessel light bullet generations and veloc.ty c.ntrols with the relative time-of-flight resolved detec.ion for SRS 3D deep tissue *** have also built the B2-SRS imaging system and present the first demonstration of B2-SRS mic.osc.py with Bessel light bullets for 3D c.emic.l imaging in a variety of samples(e.g.,polymer bead phantoms,biologic.l samples suc. as spring onion tissue and porc.ne brain)with high *** B2-SRS tec.nique provides a>2-fold improvement in imaging depth in porc.ne brain tissue c.mpared to c.nventional SRS *** method of optic.l sec.ioning in tissue using c.unter-propagating ultraslow Bessel light bullets developed in B2-SRS is generic.and easy to perform and c.n be readily extended to other nonlinear optic.l imaging modalities to advanc. 3D mic.osc.pic.imaging in biologic.l and biomedic.l systems and beyond.
