The use of bioc.ar c.n have several effec.s on plant g.rmination,depending.on raw material,preparation method and applic.tion ***,the molec.lar mec.anisms that lead to those results have yet to be *** aim of this researc. was to improve the understanding.of these mec.anisms by c.arac.erizing.the metabolic.effec.s of sug.rc.ne bag.sse bioc.ar on soybean *** types of bioc.ars were prepared by pyrolysis at 300℃(Sc.300),400℃(Sc.400)and 600℃(Sc.600).Then,eac. one was mixed into sand at 1%,3%,5%(w/w)dose,*** experiment was performed in 8 days of inc.bation,when the number of g.rminated seeds and the averag. radic.e leng.h were *** evaluate the metabolome,the dry biomass(DB)was subjec.ed to extrac.ion with a mixture of methanol-d4 and D2O(1:1 v/v).The extrac.s were submitted to metabolomic. analysis by Proton Nuc.ear Mag.etic.*** Relative g.rmination,Relative Averag. Radic.e g.owth and g.rmination Index inc.eased in all treatments c.mpared to *** the other hand,the DB inc.eased in all treatments,exc.pt for Sc.300,at doses of 1%and 3%w/*** metabolites(alanine,asparag.ne,ac.tic.ac.d,c.tric.ac.d,g.yc.rol,fatty ac.ds and suc.ose)were identified and quantified in DB extrac.s as the most influential finding.for the separation of *** tog.ther,these results strong.y sug.ested that bioc.ars ac.elerated the c.tabolism of triac.lg.yc.rols to suc.ose and induc.d a slig.t osmotic.stress.

Bats are the sec.nd-most diverse g.oup of mammals in the world,and bat flies are their main ***,sig.ific.nt knowledg. g.ps remain reg.rding.these antag.nistic.interac.ions,espec.ally sinc. diverse fac.ors suc. as seasonality and host sex c.n affec. their network ***,we explore the influenc. of suc. fac.ors by c.mparing.spec.es ric.ness and c.mposition of bat flies on host bats,as well as spec.alization and modularity of bat–bat fly interac.ion networks between seasons and adult host *** c.ptured bats and c.llec.ed their ec.oparasitic.flies at 10 sampling.sites in the savannahs of AmapáState,northeastern reg.on of the Brazilian *** female bats being.more parasitized and rec.rding.g.eater bat fly spec.es ric.ness in the wet season,neither relationship was statistic.lly *** pooled network c.uld be divided into 15 c.mpartments with 54 links,and all subnetworks c.mprised>12 *** total number of links rang.d from 27 to 48(for the dry and wet seasons,respec.ively),and female and male subnetworks had 44 and 41 links,*** values were very low for the pooled network and for all *** results revealed hig.er bat fly spec.es ric.ness and abundanc. in the wet season,whereas spec.alization and modularity were hig.er in the dry ***,the subnetwork for female bats displayed hig.er spec.alization and modularity than the male ***,both seasonality and host sex c.ntribute in different ways to bat–bat fly network *** studies should c.nsider these fac.ors when evaluating.bat–bat fly interac.ion networks.

Portable X-ray fluoresc.nc.(pXRF) spec.rometers c.n be used to determine the elemental c.mposition easily, rapidly, and without using.c.emic.l reag.nts, whic. is very important for tropic.l reg.ons due to the lac. of detailed soil c.arac.erization data. Moreover,pXRF data c.n be used to predic. the results of more expensive, time-c.nsuming. and c.nventional laboratory analyses. This study soug.t to determine the elemental c.mposition of various soil profiles using.pXRF. Two operational modes(Trac. Mode and g.neral Mode) and two sc.nning.time(30 and 60 s) were assessed to determine their effec.s on the c.rrelation of pXRF dataset with respec. to c.nventional induc.ively c.upled plasma(Ic.)-optic.l emission spec.rometry analysis. This relationship has been reported in previous studies, however, few studies were performed on tropic.l soils, whic. are unique. Furthermore, suc. relationships establish the viability of developing.predic.ion models direc.ly from pXRF data. Linear reg.ession was applied to develop c.libration models for the predic.ion of Ic. analysis results and exc.ang.able and available elemental c.ntents based on pXRF data. Hig. c.effic.ents of determination(R^2) were obtained for c.(0.87), c.(0.90), Fe(0.95), Mn(0.85), c.(0.95), V(0.72), and Ni(0.90), with adequate validation. Statistic.lly sig.ific.nt results were not found for Al, K, Zn, Ti, and Zr. The models predic.ing.the exc.ang.able c. based on the total c. from p XRF reac.ed an R^2 of up to 0.85. Operational modes influenc.d the pXRF results. Our results illustrate that pXRF holds g.eat promise for tropic.l soil c.arac.erization and the development of predic.ion models, justifying.the need for larg.r-sc.le studies in tropic.l c.untries worldwide.

Understanding.abiotic.stress responses is one of the most important issues in plant researc. nowadays. Abiotic.stress, inc.uding.exc.ss lig.t, c.n promote the onset of oxidative stress throug. the ac.umulation of reac.ive oxyg.n spec.es. Oxidative stress also arises when in vitro propag.ted plants are exposed to hig. lig.t upon transfer to ex vitro. To determine whether the underlying.pathways ac.ivated at the transfer of in vitro g.apevine to ex vitro c.nditions reflec. the proc.sses oc.urring.upon lig.t stress, we used Vitis vinifera Affymetrix g.nec.ip （Vvg.） and a c.stom array of g.nes responsive to lig.t stress （LSc.） detec.ed by real-time reverse transc.iptase Pc. （qRT-Pc.）. When g.ne-expression profiles were c.mpared, ＇protein metabolism and modific.tion＇, ＇sig.aling., and ＇anti-oxidative＂ g.nes were more represented in LSc., while, in Vvg., ＇c.ll wall metabolism＇ and ＇sec.ndary metabolism＇ were the c.teg.ries in whic. g.ne expression varied more sig.ific.ntly. The above func.ional c.teg.ries c.nfirm previous studies involving.other types of abiotic.stresses, enhanc.ng.the c.mmon attributes of abiotic.stress defense pathways. The LSc. analysis of our experimental system detec.ed strong.response of heat shoc. g.nes, partic.larly the protein resc.ing.mec.anism involving.the c.operation of two ATP-dependent c.aperone systems, Hsp100 and Hsp70, whic. showed an unusually late response during.the rec.very period, of extreme relevanc. to remove non-func.ional, potentially harmful polypeptides arising.from misfolding. denaturation, or ag.reg.tion broug.t about by stress. The suc.ess of LSc. also proves the feasibility of a c.stommade qRT-Pc. approac., partic.larly for spec.es for whic. no g.nec.ip is available and for researc.ers dealing.with a spec.fic.and foc.sed problem.
