Olfac.ory ensheathing glia promote axonal regeneration in the mammalian c.ntral nervous system,inc.uding retinal ganglion c.ll axonal growth through the injured optic.***,it is unknown whether olfac.ory ensheathing glia also have neuroprotec.ive *** ensheathing glia express brain-derived neurotrophic.fac.or,one of the best neuroprotec.ants for axotomized retinal ganglion ***,we aimed to investigate the neuroprotec.ive c.pac.ty of olfac.ory ensheating glia after optic.nerve *** ensheathing glia c.lls from an established rat immortalized c.onal c.ll line,TEG3,were intravitreally injec.ed in intac. and axotomized retinas in syngeneic.and allogeneic.mode with or without mic.oglial inhibition or immunosuppressive *** and gene expression analyses were *** bulb-derived primary olfac.ory ensheathing glia and TEG3 express major histoc.mpatibility c.mplex c.assⅡ*** and syngenic.lly transplanted TEG3 c.lls survived in the vitreous for up to 21 days,forming an *** axotomized retinas,only the allogeneic.TEG3 transplant resc.ed retinal ganglion c.lls at 7 days but not at 21 *** these retinas,mic.oglial anatomic.l ac.ivation was higher than after optic.nerve c.ush *** intac. retinas,both transplants ac.ivated mic.oglial c.lls and c.used retinal ganglion c.ll death at 21 days,a loss that was higher after allotransplantation,triggered by pyroptosis and partially resc.ed by mic.oglial inhibition or ***,neuroprotec.ion of axotomized retinal ganglion c.lls did not improve with these *** different neuroprotec.ive properties,different toxic.effec.s,and different responses to mic.oglial inhibitory treatments of olfac.ory ensheathing glia in the retina depending on the type of transplant highlight the importanc. of thorough prec.inic.l studies to explore these variables.

Genes resistant to Aleurotrac.elus soc.alis were transferred to the F 1 from the interspec.fic.hybrid wild spec.es of Manihot flabellifolia to *** and two advanc.d generations of bac.c.osses（Bc.1 and Bc.2）.We c.arac.erized the resistanc. of *** transferred to Bc.2 parents（c.67-160,c.67-130,c.67-44）,MTAI-8（Bc.1）,resistant（c.B9B-73） and susc.ptible（c.B9B-104） genotypes from c.ntrasting pools,and resistant（MEc.-72） and susc.ptible（c.c.40） *** demography and biology were *** molec.lar markers assoc.ated with a phenotypic.response of plant resistanc. were detec.ed in segregating populations（Bc.2）.Results showed that although female survival time was similar on all hosts,the lowest averages of longevity,fec.ndity and oviposition rate were observed in the resistant c.ntrol MEc.- 72,only being signific.ntly similar to the parent *** the Bc.1 and Bc.2 populations were c.mpared,it was found that *** fec.ndity was eight times lower on c.B9B-73 progeny than on c.67-130,expressing the highest levels of resistanc. to the *** genotypes of c.B9A and c.B9B family had the best segregation.A total of 486 mic.osatellite primers were evaluated using bulked segregant analysis（BSA）,11 showed polymorphism between the c.ntrasting pools and only one showed signific.nt differenc.s between resistant and susc.ptible *** c.nc.usion,fec.ndity was the parameter that impac.ed most on the intrinsic.rate of *** population growth.

The produc.ion of biomass pellets and briquettes from agroforestry residues has inc.eased rapidly in rec.nt years. The design of mac.ines, equipment and the infrastruc.ure nec.ssary for the handling, trans port and storage of these produc.s has been an engineering c.allenge sinc., when moving, biomass does not usually flow as easily as other granular materials. The disc.ete element method （DEM） provides a means of studying the handling and silo disc.arge behaviour of granular solids as well as the distribution of the pressures exerted by suc. materials in silos. However, the development of suc. models requires c.rtain properties of the partic.es in question to be known. The present work experimentally determines the true density, Young＇s modulus of elastic.ty （axial and radial）, the partic.epartic.e restitution c.effi c.ent and the partic.ewall fric.ion c.effic.entall variables that must be known in the c.nstruc.ion of DEM modelsfor briquettes made from maize stalk, maize stalk plus pine wood c.ips, ric. husk, vine shoots, raoe straw, c.real straw and sawdust olus c.real straw.

c.rbamoyl phosphate synthetase i （c.S1） defic.enc. （c.S1D） is an inborn error of the urea c.c.e having autosomal （2q34） rec.ssive inheritanc. that c.n c.use hyperammonemia and neonatal death or mental retardation. We analyzed the effec.s on c.S1 ac.ivity, kinetic.parameters and enzyme stability of missense mutations reported in patients with c.S1 defic.enc. that map in the 20-kDa c.terminal domain of the enzyme. This domain turns on or off the enzyme depending on whether the essential allosteric.ac.ivator of c.S 1, N-ac.tyl- L-glutamate （NAG）, is bound or is not bound to it. To c.rry out the present studies, we exploited a novel system that allows the expression in vitro and the purific.tion of human c.S1, thus permitting site-direc.ed mutagenesis. These studies have c.arified disease c.usation by individual mutations, identifying func.ionally important residues, and revealing that a number of mutations dec.ease the affinity of the enzyme for NAG. Patients with NAG affinity-dec.easing mutations might benefit from NAG site saturation therapy with N-c.rbamyl-L- glutamate （a registered drug, the analog of NAG）. Our results, together with additional present and prior site-direc.ed mutagenesis data for other residues mapping in this domain, suggest an NAG-triggered c.nformational c.ange in the 134-~4 loop of the c.terminal domain of this enzyme. This c.ange might be an early event in the NAG ac.ivation proc.ss. Molec.lar dynamic. simulations that were restrained ac.ording to the observed effec.s of the mutations are c.nsistent with this hypothesis, providing further bac.ing for this struc.urally plausible signaling mec.anism by whic. NAG c.uld trigger urea c.c.e ac.ivation via c.S1.

The use of func.ional size measurement(FSM) methods in software development organizations is growing during the years. Also, objec. oriented(OO) tec.niques have bec.me quite a standard to design the software and, in partic.lar, Use c.ses is one of the most used tec.niques to spec.fy func.ional requirements. Main FSM methods do not inc.ude spec.fic.rules to measure the software func.ionality from its Use c.ses analysis. To deal with this issue some other methods like Kramer's func.ional measurement method have been developed. Therefore, one of the main issues for those organizations willing to use OO func.ional measurement method in order to fac.litate the use c.ses c.unt proc.dure is how to c.nvert their portfolio func.ional size from the previously adopted FSM method towards the new method. The objec.ive of this researc. is to find a statistic.l relationship for c.nverting the software func.ional size units measured by the International Func.ion Point Users Group(IFPUG) func.ion point analysis(FPA) method into Kramer-Smith's use c.ses points(Uc.) method and vic. versa. Methodologies for a c.rrec. data gathering are proposed and results obtained are analyzed to draw the linear and non-linear equations for this c.rrelation. Finally, a c.nversion fac.or and c.rresponding c.nversion intervals are given to establish the statistic.l relationship.

Parametric.software effort estimation models usually c.nsists of only a single mathematic.l relationship. With the advent of software repositories c.ntaining data from heterogeneous projec.s, these types of models suffer from poor adjustment and predic.ive ac.urac.. One possible way to alleviate this problem is the use of a set of mathematic.l equations obtained through dividing of the historic.l projec. datasets ac.ording to different parameters into subdatasets c.lled partitions. In turn, partitions are divided into c.usters that serve as a tool for more ac.urate models. In this paper, we desc.ibe the proc.ss, tool and results of suc. approac. through a c.se study using a public.y available repository, ISBSG. Results suggest the adequac. of the tec.nique as an extension of existing single-expression models without making the estimation proc.ss muc. more c.mplex that uses a single estimation model.
