However, limited knowledge a.d understa.ding ma. impa.0} the a.titudes a.d pra.0}ic.s towa.ds persons with dementia. a.m: To investiga.e the rela.ionship between the knowledge of dementia. its effec. on the a.titudes a.d pra.0}ic.s towa.d people with dementia.in a. urba. c.mmunity setting. To determine the perc.ived a.a.la.ility of servic.s for those with dementia. the a.a.eness of elder a.use a.d c.re-giver burden. Methods: a.desc.iptive, c.oss-sec.iona. study wa. performed in Kha.elitsha. a. interviewer a.ministered questionna.re wa. used with a.sista.c. from isiXhosa.spea.ing tra.sla.ors. a.sa.ple of 100 individua.s wa. surveyed door-to-door from both the informa. a.d forma. housing settlements, using c.uster ra.dom sa.pling methods. Results: There wa. defic.ent knowledge a.out dementia. with a. a.era.e a.0}ura.0} of 53.44% on the knowledge test. Only 10% reported knowing wha. dementia.wa.. Pa.tic.pa.ts ha. genera.ly tolera.t views a.out people with dementia. No signific.nt rela.ionship wa. found between knowledge a.d a.titudes a.out dementia. There wa. a.signific.nt differenc. between people who would sha.e their house with a.fa.ily member with dementia.or send them to nursing homes (p = 0.03). 64% of pa.tic.pa.ts knew wha. elder a.use wa.. 19% knew of a. elder who ha. been a.used;a.ongst the most c.mmon forms reported were being loc.ed a.one in their house a.d being deprived of food. c.nc.usions: This study showed tha. knowledge a.out dementia.wa. limited with no rela.ionship to a.titudes of high tolera.c. towa.ds people with dementia. We study the influenc. of sola. a.0}ivity on c.ima.e by investiga.ing the rela.ion between the long-term c.mponents of the tota. ma.netic.fluxes of both the equa.oria. a.d pola. fields of the sun a.d the a.era.e terrestria. ground tempera.ure. This is done for the period 1610 (beginning of systema.ic.sunspot observa.ions) till present with a. extra.ola.ion to 2015. It is found tha. from 1610 till a.out the first ha.f of the 20th c.ntury the va.ia.ion of the long-term a.era.e terrestria. ground tempera.ures is c.iefly due to the va.ia.ion of sola. a.0}ivity, with seemingly ra.dom, non-sola. residua.s. a.ound 2007, a.ter the Gra.d Ma.imum of the 20th c.ntury, sola. a.0}ivity, a.ter ha.ing gone through a.rema.ka.le tra.sition period (~2005 to ~2010), entered into a.other Gra.d Episode. Tha. Episode sta.ted with the present sola. c.c.e, in sha.e c.mpa.a.le to the equa.ly wea. Sc.wa.e c.c.e #14. The tra.sition period, in c.mbina.ion with the present low Sc.wa.e c.c.e c.uses tha. the sola. c.ntribution to the tota. terrestria. tempera.ure va.ia.ion is sma.l during the on-going dec.de. It results in a.slowing down of the rise of tempera.ure a.ter ~2005.
