Free-form optoelectronic devices can provide hyper-connectivity over space and ***,most conformable optoelectronic devices can only be fabricated on flat polymeric materials using low-temperature processes,limiting their application and *** paper presents free-form optoelectronic devices that are not dependent on the shape or *** medical applications,the transferable OLED(10μm)is formed in a sandwich structure with an ultra-thin transferable barrier(4.8μm).The results showed that the fabricated sandwich-structure transferable OLED(STOLED)exhibit the same high-efficiency performance on cylindricalshaped materials and on materials such as textile and *** the neutral axis is freely adjustable using the sandwich structure,the textile-based OLED achieved both folding reliability and washing reliability,as well as a long operating life(>150 h).When keratinocytes were irradiated with red STOLED light,cell proliferation and cell migration increased by 26 and 32%,*** the skin equivalent model,the epidermis thickness was increased by 39%;additionally,in organ culture,not only was the skin area increased by 14%,but also,reepithelialization was highly *** on the results,the STOLED is expected to be applicable in various wearable and disposable photomedical devices.

Subcortical ischemic white matter injury(SIWMI),pathological correlate of white matter hyperintensities or leukoaraiosis on magnetic resonance imaging,is a common cause of cognitive decline in *** its high prevalence,it remains unknown how various components of the white matter degenerate in response to chronic *** incomplete knowledge is in part due to a lack of adequate animal *** current review introduces various SIWMI animal models and aims to scrutinize their advantages and disadvantages primarily in regard to the pathological manifestations of white matter *** SIWMI animal models are categorized into 1)chemically induced SIWMI models,2)vascular occlusive SIWMI models,and 3)SIWMI models with comorbid vascular risk *** induced models display consistent lesions in predetermined areas of the white matter,but the abrupt evolution of lesions does not appropriately reflect the progressive pathological processes in human white matter *** occlusive SIWMI models often do not exhibit white matter lesions that are sufficiently unequivocal to be *** combined with comorbid vascular risk factors(specifically hypertension),however,they can produce progressive and definitive white matter lesions including diffuse rarefaction,demyelination,loss of oligodendrocytes,and glial activation,which are by far the closest to those found in human white matter hyperintensities ***,considerable surgical mortality and unpredictable natural deaths during a follow-up period would necessitate further refinements in these *** the meantime,in vitro SIWMI models that recapitulate myelinated white matter track may be utilized to study molecular mechanisms of the ischemic white matter *** in vivo and in vitro SIWMI models will contribute in a complementary manner to making a breakthrough in developing effective treatment to prevent progression of white matter hyperintensities.

Excessive demand for translation and protein folding in the endoplasmic reticulum(ER) can cause ER stress in plants. Here, we show that CALRETICULIN 1(CRT1) and CRT2 are critical components in the accumulation of VESICLE-ASSOCIATED MEMBRANE PROTEIN 721(VAMP721) and VAMP722 during ER stress responses. We show that CRT2 interacts with VAMP722 and that CRT1/2 post-translationally maintain elevated VAMP721/722 levels under ER *** greater growth inhibition in VAMP721/722-deficient plants, induced by tunicamycin, suggests that plants under ER stress maintain physiological homeostasis, at least in part, by regulating VAMP721/722 levels, as VAMP721/722 are known to participate in various biological processes.

A coupled ice-ocean isopycnal numerical model of the Southern Ocean is established tostudy the circulation and its seasonal variability in the region around the Kerguelen Plateau. An analysis of the simulated results shows significant stripe-like structure and non-zonal feature of the Antarctic Cir-cumpolar Current (ACC) in this region. ACC begins to bifurcate and to turn its direction before meeting the plateau. The southernmost branch of ACC is near to the Antarctic coast and displays its strong interaction with the westward Antarctic Slope Current. The northern branch of ACC has a tendency of annual variations while the southern one varies in a semiannual cycle. The variation phases of both branches are coincident with that of the wind stress in this region.

Glacio-isostatic adjustment(GIA)and tectonic activity are important factors in the formation of marine *** Holocene wave-cut benches in the eastern part of the West Sea of Korea,also called the Yellow Sea,can be divided into two steps:531 cm above sea level(ASL)for the upper bench(T2)and 464-481 cm ASL for the lower bench(T1).Sediments on the benches a re classified into four units,and are interpreted to be beach deposits acco rding to gravel shape,textu re,and seaward *** ove rlying sediment indicates that T2 was formed at approximately 530 cm ASL before 2900 yr BP,and T1 at approximately 460-480 cm ASL before 1520 yr *** Holocene(4000-2000 yr BP)relative sea level(RSL)curves based on GIA models are inconsistent with the wave-cut bench *** T1 and T2 benches to the RSL curves of the West Sea,the upper and the lower benches were uplifted by approximately 5-8 m and 4-7 m,*** the area is several hundred kilometers away from plate boundaries,the high frequency of earthquakes in the West Sea may have induced the uplift of wave-cut benches during the last 2000 *** indicate that the west coast of the Korean Peninsula(KP)should no longer be considered an area of subsidence,but be assigned to a regime of uplift during the late Holocene.

Flexible logic circuits and memory with ultra-low static power consumption are in great demand for battery-powered flexible electronic systems. Here, we show that a flexible nonvolatile logic-in-memory circuit enabling normally-off computing can be implemented using a poly（1,3,5-trivinyl-l,3,5-trimethyl cyclotrisiloxane）（pV3D3）-based memristor array. Although memristive logic-in-memory circuits have been previously reported, the requirements of additional components and the large variation of memristors have limited demonstrations to simple gates within a few operation cycles on rigid substrates only. Using memristor-aided logic （MAGIC） architecture requiring only memristors and pV3D3-memristor with good uniformity on a flexible substrate, for the first time, we experimentally demonstrated our implementation of MAGIC-NOT and -NOR gates during multiple cycles and even under bent conditions. Other functions, such as OR, AND, NAND, and a half adder, are also realized by combinations of NOT and NOR gates within a crossbar array. This research advances the development of novel computing architecture with zero static power consumption for battery- powered flexible electronic systems.

A study of tsunami events in the East （Japan） Sea using continuous Galerkin finite element model, aiming at reproducing tsunami waves generated by underwater earthquakes in 1983 and 1993 respectively has been performed focusing on the geographic extent of a topographic feature in the East （Japan） Sea. Numerical models can be the proper tools to study the combined effects of realistic topography. Subsequently, using the FEM based two-dimensional model we have simulated the smoothed and flattened topographic effects by removal of Yamato Rise and seamounts for the cases of tthe 1983 Central region earthquake tsunami and the 1993 southwestern Hokkaido earthquake tsunami. The results have shown that there will be higher tsunamis along the eastern coasts of Korea in general except some areas, like Sokcho with removal of topographic highs, thus providing complicated bottom topography of the East （Japan） Sea as effective tsunami energy scattering.

Microstructure and mechanical properties of SiCp /AA5083 composite fabricated by friction stir welding (FSW) were *** influence of the number of FSW passes on the distribution of SiC particles and mechanical properties in the joint was *** one pass,the SiC particles were entangled in the upper side of the stir zone (SZ).However,the particle distribution became more uniform after two passes due to the repeated stirring of the *** the SiC particles facilitate the grain refinement in the SZ by the pinning effect,the particle including region has much smaller grain size than the SZ without SiC *** SiCp /AA5083 composite region exhibits a Vickers hardness of HV90,which is much higher than the value of HV80 in the SZ produced by FSW without SiC particles.

Overview of single-port laparoscopic surgery for colorectal cancers: Past, present, and the future

Single-port laparoscopic surgery (SPLS) is implemented through a tailored minimal single incision through which a number of laparoscopic instruments access. Introduction of operation-customized port system, utilization of a camera without a separate external light, and instruments with different lengths has brought the favorable environment for SPLS. However, performing SPLS still creates several hardships compared to multiport laparoscopic surgery; a single-port system inevitably leads to clashing of surgical instruments due to crowding. To overcome such difficulties, investigators has developed novel concepts and maneuvers, including the concept of inverse triangulation and the maneuvers of pivoting, spreading out dissection, hanging suture, and transluminal traction. The final destination of SPLS is expected to be a completely seamless operation, maximizing the minimal invasiveness. Specimen extraction through the umbilicus can undermine cosmesis by inducing a larger incision. Therefore, hybrid laparoscopic technique, which combined laparoscopic surgical technique with natural orifice specimen extraction (NOSE) - i.e., transvaginal or transanal route-, has been developed. SPLS and NOSE seemed to be the best combination in pursuit of minimal invasiveness. In the near future, robotic SPLS with natural orifice transluminal endoscopic surgery’s way of specimen extraction seems to be pursued. It is expected to provide a completely or nearly complete seamless operation regardless of location of the lesion in the abdomen.
