Background:The optimal surgical timing and clinical outcomes of ventricular septal defect(VsD)closure in neo-nates remain *** aimed to evaluate the clinical outcomes of VsD closure in neonates(age≤30 days).Methods:We retrospectively reviewed 50 consecutive neonates who underwent VsD closure for isolated VsDs between August 2003 and June *** for the procedure included congestive heart failure/failure to thrive and pulmonary *** adverse events(MAEs)were deﬁned as the composite of all-cause mortality,reoperation,persistent atrioventricular block,and signiﬁcant(≥grade 2)valvular ***:The median age and body weight at operation were 26.0 days(interquartile range[IQR],18.8–28.3)and 3.7 kg(IQR,3.3–4.2),*** median follow-up duration was 110.4 months(IQR,56.8–165.0).seven patients required preoperative respiratory support,andﬁve had signiﬁcant(≥grade 2)preoperative valvular *** early mortality occurred due to irreversible cardiogenic shock;no late mortality was *** reopera-tion was due to hemodynamically signiﬁcant residual VsD at 103.8 months *** overall survival,freedom from reoperation,and freedom from MAE at 15-years were 98.0%,96.3%,and 94.4%,***-operative mechanical ventilation was associated with a longer duration of postoperative mechanical ventilation(psive care unit stay(psions:VsD closure with favorable outcomes without morbidities is feasible even in ***,neonates requiring preoperative respiratory support may require careful postoperative management considering the long-term postoperative ***,surgical VsD closure might be indicated earlier in neonates with respiratory compromise.

A recent study has identified a surprising metabolic connection between the gut microbiota and intratumoral neutrophils that impairs the oxidative stress adaptation response to chemotherapy in pancreatic cancer.1 This finding suggests that a microbiota metabolite might be used as an additive in improving chemotherapeutic efficacy for cancer patients.

Background:Endolysins,the bacteriophage-originated peptidoglycan hydrolases,are a promising replacement for antibiotics due to immediate lytic activity and no antibiotic *** objectives of this study were to investigate the lytic activity of endolysin LyJH307 against *** and to explore changes in rumen fermentation and microbiota in an in vitro *** treatments were used:1)control,corn grain without LyJH307;and 2)LyJH307,corn grain with LyJH307(4 U/mL).An in vitro fermentation experiment was performed using mixture of rumen fluid collected from two cannulated Holstein steers(450±30 kg)and artificial saliva buffer mixed as 1:3 ratio for 12 h incubation *** vitro dry matter digestibility,pH,volatile fatty acids,and lactate concentration were estimated at 12 h,and the gas production was measured at 6,9,and 12 *** rumen bacterial community was analyzed using 16s rRNA amplicon ***:LyJH307 supplementation at 6 h incubation markedly decreased the absolute abundance of ***(approximately 70% compared to control,P=0.0289)and increased ruminal pH(P=0.0335)at the 12 h *** acetate proportion(P=0.0362)was significantly increased after LyJH307 addition,whereas propionate(P=0.0379)was ***307 supplementation increased D-lactate(P=0.0340)without any change in L-lactate concentration(P>0.10).There were no significant differences in shannon’s index,simpson’s index,Chao1 estimates,and evenness(P>0.10).Based on Bray-Curtis dissimilarity matrices,the LyJH307 affected the overall shift in microbiota(P=0.097).LyJH307 supplementation induced an increase of 11 genera containing Lachnoclostridium,WCHB1-41,unclassified genus selenomonadaceae,Paraprevotella,vadinBE97,Ruminococcus gauvreauii group,Lactobacillus,Anaerorhabdus furcosa group,Victivallaceae,Desulfuromonadaceae,and *** predicted functional features represented by the Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes pathways were changed by LyJH307 toward a de

speech signals play an essential role in communication and provide an efficient way to exchange information between humans and *** Emotion Recognition(sER)is one of the critical sources for human evaluation,which is applicable in many real-world applications such as healthcare,call centers,robotics,safety,and virtual *** work developed a novel TCN-based emotion recognition system using speech signals through a spatial-temporal convolution network to recognize the speaker’s emotional *** authors designed a Temporal Convolutional Network(TCN)core block to recognize long-term dependencies in speech signals and then feed these temporal cues to a dense network to fuse the spatial features and recognize global information for final *** proposed network extracts valid sequential cues automatically from speech signals,which performed better than state-of-the-art(sOTA)and traditional machine learning *** of the proposed method show a high recognition rate compared with *** final unweighted accuracy of 80.84%,and 92.31%,for interactive emotional dyadic motion captures(IEMOCAP)and berlin emotional dataset(EMO-DB),indicate the robustness and efficiency of the designed model.

A neural network model is developed to search vast compositional space of high entropy alloys(HEAs).The model predicts the mechanical properties of HEAs better than several other ***’s because the special structure of the model helps the model understand the characteristics of constituent elements of *** addition,thermodynamics descriptors were utilized as input to the model so that the model predicts better by understanding the thermodynamic properties of HEAs.A conditional random search,which is good at finding local optimal values,was selected as the inverse predictor and designed two HEAs using the *** experimentally verified that the HEAs have the best combination of strength and ductility and this proves the validity of the model and alloy design *** strengthening mechanism of the designed HEAs is further discussed based on microstructure and lattice distortion *** present alloy design approach,specialized in finding multiple local optima,could help researchers design an infinite number of new alloys with interesting properties.

In this paper, the problem of stability analysis for neural networks with time-varying delays is considered. By constructing a new augmented Lyapunov-Krasovskii＇s functional and some novel analysis techniques, improved delaydependent criteria for checking the stability of the neural networks are established. The proposed criteria are presented in terms of linear matrix inequalities （LMIs） which can be easily solved and checked by various convex optimization algorithms. Two numerical examples are included to show the superiority of our results.

Human nonverbal communication tools are very ambiguous and difficult to transfer to machines or artificial intelligence(AI).If the AI understands the mental state behind a user’s decision,it can learn more appropriate decisions even in unclear *** introduce the Brain-AI Closed-Loop system(BACLos),a wireless interaction platform that enables human brain wave analysis and transfers results to AI to verify and enhance AI *** developed a wireless earbud-like electroencephalography(EEG)measurement device,combined with tattoo-like electrodes and connectors,which enables continuous recording of high-quality EEG signals,especially the error-related potential(ErrP).The sensor measures the ErrP signals,which reflects the human cognitive consequences of an unpredicted machine *** AI corrects or reinforces decisions depending on the presence or absence of the ErrP signals,which is determined by deep learning classification of the received EEG *** demonstrate the BACLos for AIbased machines,including autonomous driving vehicles,maze solvers,and assistant interfaces.

Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease(NAFLD)is characterized by a spectrum of hepatic diseases,including fatty liver,non-alcoholic steatohepatitis,cirrhosis,and hepatocellular *** is a hepatic manifestation of metabolic syndrome and has become the leading cause of liver transplantation,necessitating an in-depth understanding of its underlying pathogenic mechanisms and the identification of viable drug *** fatty liver is benign and does not exert marked liver damage or inflammation,NAFLD progression involves inflammatory processes facilitated by immune *** and monocytes constitute the pool of innate immune cells that contribute to NAFLD development in association with other cell types,such as neutrophils,T cells,and natural killer *** concept that macrophages contribute to the inflammatory processes in NAFLD development has long been debated;however,the remarkable advances in experimental techniques have rapidly uncovered new subpopulations of macrophages and monocytes,whose functions need to be comprehensively *** current review focuses on the recent expansion of our knowledge of the heterogeneous population of macrophages crucially involved in NAFLD *** addition,the present paper discusses ongoing efforts to target macrophages and inflammatory processes to develop optimal therapeutic agents against non-alcoholic steatohepatitis.
