BACKGROUND Gallbladder polyps(GBPs)are known to be associated with obesity and metabolic ***,to date,the relationship between GBPs and abnormal body fat distribution,such as fatty liver,visceral obesity,or sarcopenia,has not yet been *** To evaluate whether GBPs are associated with fatty liver,visceral obesity,or *** We retrospectively reviewed the medical records of subjects who underwent various laboratory tests,body composition measurement with a non-invasive body composition analyzer,and abdominal ultrasonography during health checkups.A total of 1405 subjects with GBPs were compared with 2810 age-and sex-matched *** The mean age of the subjects was 46.8±11.7 years,and 63.8%were *** to multiple logistic regression analysis,the presence of fatty liver[odds ratio(OR)1.413;95%confidence interval(CI)1.218-1.638;P<0.001]was an independent risk factor for GBP,together with low levels of alanine aminotransferase(OR 0.993;95%CI 0.989-0.996;P<0.001).Additionally,fatty liver showed both independent(OR 1.629;95%CI,1.335-1.988;P<0.001)and dosedependent(moderate to severe fatty liver;OR 2.137;95%CI,1.662-2.749;P<0.001)relationship with large GBPs(≥5 mm).The presence of sarcopenia and high visceral fat area were not significantly associated with *** Fatty liver was found to be closely associated with GBPs irrespective of sarcopenia and visceral obesity.

The less affected hemisphere is important in motor recovery in mature ***,in terms of motor outcome in immature brains,no study has been reported on the less affected corticospinal tract in hemiplegic pediatric ***,we examined the relationship between the condition of the less affected corticospinal tract and motor function in hemiplegic pediatric *** patients with hemiplegia due to perinatal or prenatal injury（13.7±3.0 months）and 40 age-matched typically developing controls were *** patients were divided into two age-matched groups,the high functioning group（20 patients）and the low functioning group（20 patients）using functional level of hemiplegia *** tensor tractography images showed that compared with the control group,the patient group of the less affected corticospinal tract showed significantly increased fiber number and significantly decreased fractional anisotropy *** increased fiber number and significantly decreased fractional anisotropy value in the low functioning group were observed than in the high functioning *** findings suggest that activation of the less affected hemisphere presenting as increased fiber number and decreased fractional anisotropy value is related to poor motor function in pediatric hemiplegic patients.

Objective: To classify the evaluation methods for amount of tongue coating(TC) and investigate their reliability, accuracy, and frequency of use. Methods: Articles published from 1985 to 2015 were searched for evaluation methods for the amount of TC in PubMed and the Cochrane Library. Only clinical researches were included except protocol articles. The methods were classi?ed according to their characteristics. Results: Finally,113 articles were selected. The evaluation method for the amount of TC from the articles was classi?ed into 4 types: intuitive, specificative, computerized, and weighing TC. The reliability in the intuitive and specificative methods(κ=0.33–0.92) showed varying levels among the studies. In general, the amount of TC calculated by the speci?cative method(Spearman's r=0.68–0.80) was more strongly related to the directly measured value than to the value estimated by the computerized method(Pearson's r=0.442). The number of articles published on this topic has increased consistently, and the speci?cative method was the most frequently used. Despite the higher reliability of the computerized method, it has not been widely used. Conclusions: The high prevalence of the speci?cative method would continue in clinical practice because of its convenience and accuracy. However,to establish higher reliability, the limitation of the subjectivity of the assessors should be overcome through calibration training. In the computerized method, novel algorithms are needed to obtain a higher accuracy so that it can help the practitioners con?dently estimate the amount of TC.

Geometrical and Geotechnical Characteristics of Landslides in Korea under Various Geological Conditions

The goal of this study is to determine the geometrical and geotechnical characteristics of landslides under various geological conditions using detailed field surveys, laboratory soil tests and precipitation records. Three study areas are selected to consider different rocks, including gneiss in Jangheung, granite in Sangju and sedimentary rocks in Pohang, South Korea. Many landslides have occurred in these three areas during the rainy *** records indicate that landslides occurring in the gneiss area of Jangheung and granite area of Sangju may be influenced by the hourly rainfall intensity rather than cumulative ***, landslides occurring in the sedimentary rock area of Pohang may be influenced by hourly rainfall intensity and cumulative rainfall. To investigate the factors that influence these types of landslides, a detailed landslide survey was performed and a series of laboratory soil tests were *** to the detailed field survey, most landslides occurred on the flanks of mountain slopes, and the slope inclination where they occurred mostly ranged from 26 to 30 degrees, regardless of the geological conditions. The landslide in the gneiss area of Jangheung is larger than the landslides in the granite area of Sangju and sedimentary rock area of ***, the landslide in the sedimentary rock area is shorter and shallower than the landslides in the gneiss and granite areas. Thus, the shape and size of the landslide are clearly related to the geological conditions. According to the integrated soil property and landslide occurrence analyses results, the average dry unit weight of the soils from the landslide sites is smaller than that of the soils obtained from the nonlandslide site. The average coefficient of permeability of soils obtained from the landslide sites is greater than that of soils obtained from the non-landslide sites with the same geology. We report triboelectric nanogenerators （TENGs） composed of a flexible and cost-effective gold-coated conductive textile （CT） to convert wind energy into electricity. The Au-coated CT is employed because of its high surface roughness resulting from Au nanodots distributed on microsized fibers. Thus, the Au-coated CT with nano/microarchitecture plays an important role in enhancing the effective contact area as well as the output performance of the TENG. Moreover, the surface roughness of the Au-coated CT is controlled by adjusting the Au thermal deposition time or tailoring the diameter of the Au nanodots. At an applied wind speed of 10 m.s-1, a wind-based TENG （W-TENG） with dimensions of 75 mm × 12 mm ×25 mm produces an open-circuit voltage （Voc） of - 39 V and a short-circuit current （Isc） of - 3 A by using the airflow-induced vibrations of an optimized Au-coated CT between two flat polydimethylsiloxane （PDMS） layers. To further specify the device performance, the electric output of the W-TENG is analyzed by varying several parameters such as the distance between the PDMS layer and Au-coated CT, applied wind speed, external load resistance, and surface roughness of the PDMS layers. Introducing an inverse micropyramid architecture on the PDMS layers further improves the output performance of the W-TENG, which exhibits the highest Voc （- 49 V） and Isc （- 5μA） values at an applied wind speed of 6.8 m.s-1. Additionally, the reliability of the W-TENG is also tested by measuring its output current during long-term cyclic operation. Furthermore, the rectified output signals observed by the W-TENG device are used as a direct power source to light 45 green commercial light-emitting diodes connected in series and also to charge capacitors （100 and 4.7μF）. Finally, the output performance of the W-TENG device in an actual windy situation is also investigated.

The cerebellum has a complex network and relates to various clinical functions including ataxia, gait disturbance, hearing and vision, cognition and affective control. Cerebellar peduncles are the structure connecting the cerebellum to the brain stem and the cerebrum. There exist three cerebellar peduncles. The superior cerebellar peduncle （SCP） involves vestibular sense and proprio- ception connecting to the thalamocortical pathway. The middle cerebellar peduncle （MCP） is the largest structure among the three cerebellar peduncles conveying impulses from the cerebral cortex to the cerebellum through corticopontocerebellar tract.

Effect of friction on the contact stress of a coated polymer gear

Polymer gears are used extensively in various ***,durability issues have been emerging because of friction at gear tooth contact *** extend the lifetime of polymer gears,a low-frictional coating has been considered as a possible *** this study,a finite element simulation method was performed to investigate the contact stress between a pair of coated polymer *** simulation included various friction coefficients(COFs)for studying the effects of friction during the *** results revealed that the friction causes the contact stress to shift over the roll angle,which is attributed to the direction of the sliding friction based on a free-body *** also investigated the effects of coating and found that a thin coating has little effect on the bulk deformation behavior of the ***,the stress distribution in the coating at the pitch point was investigated as the COF *** zero friction,three notable stress regions were observed:1)the center of the surface,2)the end of the contact,and 3)the overall contact *** COF was increased in the micro-slip region of the contact interface,both tensile and compressive stresses in the coating *** study provides significant aid to engineers for understanding the stress response of the coating applied to polymer gears to achieve an optimal design.
