In today’s manufacturing industries,hard competition between rival firms makes it compulsory for researchers to design lighter and cheaper machine components due to the megatrends of cost-effectiveness and *** this point,aluminum syntactic foams(ASFs)are new-g.n.ration eng.n.ering composites and come into the upfront as a *** to their features like low density,sufficient elongation,and perfect energy absorption ability,these advanced foams have been considerably seductive for many industrial sectors *** this study,an industrial-oriented automatic die casting technology was used for the first time to manufacture the combination of AA7075/porous expanded clay(PEC).Micro evaluations(optical and FESEM)reveal that there is a homog.n.us particle distribution in the foam samples,and inspections are compatible with the other ASF ***,T6 ag.n. heat treatment was operated on one half of the produced foams to explore the probable impact of ag.n. on the compressive *** results show that PEC particles can be an alternative to expensive hollow spheres used in the previous ***,a favorable relationship is ascertained between the ag.n. treatment and mechanical properties such as compression strength and plateau strength.

PURPOSE: The aim of this prospective study was to compare the accuracy of three-dimensional endoanal ultrasound with that of hydrog.n.peroxide enhanced three-dimensional endoanal ultrasound in diagnosing recurrent or complex fistula-in-ano. METHODS: Three-dimensional endoanal ultrasound reconstructions were performed before and after hydrog.n.peroxide enhancement in 19 patients with suspected recurrent or complex fistula-in-ano. Two experienced observers derived a consensus fistula classification after a blinded random review of the data sets. The accuracy of three-dimensional endoanal ultrasound and that of hydrog.n.peroxide-enhanced three-dimensional endoanal ultrasound were compared with a reference standard derived from surgical findings andmagnetic resonance imag.n. andmodified by outcome over a median follow-up of 13months. RESULTS: Patients had previously underg.n. a median of three fistula operations. Four had Crohn’s disease. There were 21 internal openings and primary tracks in 19 patients: 1 superficial, 1 intersphincteric, 18 transsphincteric, and 1 extrasphincteric. Fourteen patients had 19 secondary tracks. Both techniques detected fistula tracks in 19 of 21 (90 percent) patients. There was no significant difference between three-dimensional endoanal ultrasound and hydrog.n.peroxide-enhanced three-dimensional endoanal ultrasound in classifying internal openings (19/21 (90 percent) vs. 18/21 (86 percent)), primary tracks (17/21 (81 percent) vs. 15/21 (71 percent)), or secondary tracks (13/19 (68 percent) vs. 12/19 (63 percent)). Where three-dimensional endoanal ultrasound correctly detected an internal opening, gas from hydrog.n.peroxide enhancement was present in 8 of 18 (44 percent) studies. Similarly, gas made primary tracks more conspicuous in 6 of 19 (32 percent) and secondary tracks in 6 of 13 (46 percent) of those detected. Directed x-rays produced in the interaction of sub-picosecond laser pulses of moderate relativistic intensity with plasma of near-critical density are investigated. Synchrotron-like (betatron) radiation occurs in the process of direct laser acceleration (DLA) of electrons in a relativisticlaser channel when the electrons undergo transverse betatron oscillations in self-g.n.rated quasi-static electric and magnetic fields. In anexperiment at the PHELIX laser system, high-current directed beams of DLA electrons with a mean energy ten times higher than the ponderomotive potential and maximum energy up to 100 MeV were measured at 10^(19) W/cm^(2)laser intensity. The spectrum of directed x-raysin the range of 5–60 keV was evaluated using two sets of Ross filters placed at 0°and 10°to the laser pulse propagation axis. The differential x-ray absorption method allowed for absolute measurements of the angular-dependent photon fluence. We report 10^(13) photons/sr withenergies >5 keV measured at 0°to the laser axis and a brilliance of 10^(21) photons s^(−1) mm^(−2) mrad−2(0.1%BW)−1. The angular distributionof the emission has an FWHM of 14°–16°. Thanks to the ultra-high photon fluence, point-like radiation source, and ultra-short emissiontime, DLA-based keV backlighters are promising for various applications in high-energy-density research with kilojoule petawatt-class laserfacilities.

The article presents the results of experimental studies on the gasification of mixtures of brown coal and polyethylene(up to 20 wt%fraction)in a laboratory *** work aims to study the agglomeration process during the heating and oxidation of the *** measurement results(gas composition,pressure drop)provide indirect information on the dynamics of thermal decomposition and structural changes in the fuel *** have shown that the interaction between polyethylene and a coal surface leads to the formation of dense agglomerates,in which the molten polymer acts as a *** form as a result of interfacial interactions between components and filtration flow *** hydrog.n.carbon ratio in the solid residue of coal-polyethylene co-gasification increases from 0.07–0.2 to 1.11,indicating the formation of stable hydrocarbon compounds on the carbon *** conducted research makes it possible to identify possible interactions between chemical reactions and transfer processes that lead to agglomeration in mixtures of coal with polyethylene.

Metal-org.n.c frameworks(MOFs)are attracting increasing interests as photocatalysts for solar-driven hydrog.n.production from *** paper reports on a comparative study of using either acetic acid(AA)or trifluoroacetic acid(TFA)as the representative UiO-66 org.n.c modulators for synthesizing visible light responsive UiO-66(Zr)-X(X:nH_(2) or nO_(2))photocatalysts for water *** results show that photocatalytic hydrog.n.g.n.ration from a water/methanol mixture can be improved by varying the nature and amount of the modulator employed to prepare the different UiO-66(Zr)-X(X:nH_(2) or nO_(2))solid ***-66(Zr)-nH_(2) was the most active photocatalyst,followed by UiO-66(Zr)-nO_(2),both prepared with 12 equivalents of AA with respect to the org.n.c *** UiO-66(Zr)-nH_(2) solid was more active than the parent MOF in photocatalytic overall water splitting(OWS)(H_(2) and O_(2) production of 450 and 160μmol·g^(-1),respectively,in 5 h;apparent quantum yield(AQY)at 400 nm of 0.06%)in the absence of methanol and compares favourably with analogous *** on the photocatalytic activity of the most active solids of both series was obtained by means of a series of techniques,including ultraviolet-visible(UV-vis)diffuse reflectance,X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS),laser flash photolysis(LFP),electron spin resonance(ESR),photoluminescence and photoelectrochemical measurements together with density functional theory(DFT)*** results showed that org.n.c acid modulators can be used to enhance the photocatalytic activity of missing linker UiO-66 defective materials in solar-powered water splitting.

AIM:To compare the safety and effectiveness of eyelid treatment with the ILux®-MgD Treatment System in one session versus five sessions of mechanical meibomian gland expression(MMgE)in patients with moderate to severe meibomian gland dysfunction(MgD).METHODS:A prospective,randomized,open-label,and controlled clinical trial that compared one session of the ILux®MgD Treatment System versus five sessions of MMgE in both eyes of 130 patients aged≥18y with Ocular Surface Disease Index(OSDI)scores≥13,total meibomian gland scores(MgS)ofn the lower eyelid of each eye,and non-invasive tear break-up time(nI-TBUT)ndomized 1:1 to ILux®or ***:The mean age was 58±*** total MgS scores in both treatment groups were *** follow-up,there were significant differences in total MgS and per sector with Pnalysis was performed using g.n.ralized estimating equations corresponding to the g.n.ralized linear model for repeated means to determine the treatment relationship with total MgS,nIBUT,and *** was a significant difference between ILux®and MMgE(Pnth in MgS,nI-BUT,and OSDI *** adverse events were ***:ILux®treatment compared to MMgE significantly improves symptoms and signs in patients with moderate to severe MgD for one year without adverse events.
