Crohn’s d.sease(Cd.is an Inflammatory Bowel d.sease and.is characterized.by an immune-med.ated.*** etiology results from the interaction between genetic,enviromental and.microbial *** pathophysiology,it involves high levels of interleukin(IL)-12,IL-17,and.Th1 profile,along with loss of tolerance mechanisms,an increase in pro-inflammatory interleukins,beyond.the possibility to affect any part of the gastrointestinal *** symptoms includ. abd.minal pain,chronic d.arrhea,weight loss,anorexia,and.fatigue,as well as blood.in the stool or ***,cond.tions comprising musculoskeletal,cutaneous,ocular,hepatic,and.hematological alterations may be associated.with this scenario and.extra-intestinal presentation,such as erythema nod.sum,anterior uveitis,osteoporosis,and.arthritis can also ***,clinical history,exams as fecal calprotectin,ileocolonocopy,and.capsule end.scopy can be performed.in the d.agnosis investigation,along with treatments to ind.ce and.maintain *** this sense,anti-inflammatory d.ugs,such as corticosteroid.,immunomod.lators,and.biological agents,as well as surgery and.non-pharmacological interventions plays a role in its *** aim of this review is to bring more current evid.nce to clinical management of Cd.as well as to briefly d.scuss aspects of its pathophysiology,surveillance,and.associated.d.sord.rs.

Objective: To explore the effects of aqueous extract from Phthirusa pyrifolia leaves(67 mg/kg bod. weight for 12 d.ys) on the reprod.ctive function of male Wistar rats through oral ***: Animals(n = 30), aged.13 weeks and.weighing(378.5 ± 5.0) g, were housed.in a vivarium und.r controlled.environmental cond.tions [photoperiod.of 12 h light/d.rk,temperature of(23 ± 1)C] and.were fed.stand.rd.rations ad.libitum. The experiment ran for 12 d.ys, wherein animals were d.vid.d.into three groups: negative control(n = 6)received.water, positive control(n = 12) with finasterid. at a concentration of 1.0 mg/kg;and.a test group(n = 12) submitted.to aqueous extract. At the end.of the experiment, the animals were sacrificed.and.submitted.to ***: The morphological results of the testes showed.that the aqueous extract ind.ced.significant changes in the d.ameter and.cross-sectional area of the seminiferous tubules as well as the thickness of the seminiferous epithelium. Furthermore, the extract was able to abruptly d.crease testosterone concentrations by about 81.88% in the treated.group when compared.with the negative control,(47.0 ± 4.8) ng/d.L and.255.0 ± 2.0) ng/d.L,respectively, and.76.8%,(211.0 ± 8.7) ng/d.L, when compared.with finasterid.. However,the extract causes neither liver d.mage nor impairment of renal ***: These results suggest that the high amounts of flavonoid. shown to be in the extract may be responsible for its hepato-protective effects and.suggest a possible d.crease in the libid. and.reprod.ction of rats.

Glyphosate is the most used.herbicid. in Argentina, accounting for 62% of the commercialized.pesticid.s on the market. It is used.as a weed.controller in no-till systems, and.it is also applied.to various genetically mod.fied.crops ( e.g., soybean, corn, and.cotton). Although it has a high solubility in water, it tend. to ad.orb and.accumulate in agricultural soils. The main objectives of this work were to compare the d.ssipation of glyphosate and.the accumulation of its metabolite aminomethylphosphonic acid.(AMPA) over time in three soils from agricultural areas of Argentina und.r long-term management with no-till (NT) and.conventional tillage (CT) practices. There were no d.fferences in d.ssipation between NT and.CT, ind.cating that the glyphosate-d.grad.ng microflora was not mod.fied.by the d.fferent tillage managements. Moreover, tillage practices d.d.not alter the general soil properties;therefore, glyphosate bioavailability was not affected.by NT or CT practice. Forty percent of the applied.glyphosate was d.grad.d.within the first three d.ys in all soils, ind.cating a fast initial d.ssipation rate. However, the d.ssipation rate consid.rably d.creased.over time, and.the d.grad.tion kinetics followed.a bi-exponential (or two-compartment) kinetic mod.l. No d.fferences were found.between tillage practices. d.ssipation was not related.to the microbial activity measured.as soil respiration. The fast d.crease in the concentration of glyphosate at the beginning of the d.ssipation stud. was not reflected.in an increase in the concentration of AMPA. The estimated.half-lives for glyphosate ranged.between 9 and.38 d. However, glyphosate bioavailability d.creases over time, as it is strongly ad.orbed.to the soil matrix. This increases its resid.nce time, which may lead.to its accumulation in agricultural soils.

Helicobacter pylori(H. pylori) infection is present in more than half the world.s population and.has been associated.with several gastric d.sord.rs, such as gastritis, peptic ulceration, and.gastric *** clinical outcome of this infection d.pend. on host and.bacterial factors where H. pylori virulence genes seem to play a relevant role. Stud.es of cag A and.vac A genes established.that they were d.termining factors in gastric pathogenesis. However, there are gastric cancer cases that are cag A-negative. Several other virulence genes have been searched.for, but these genes remain less well known that cag A and.vac A. Thus, this review aimed.to establish which genes have been suggested.as potentially relevant virulence factors for H. pylori-associated.gastrointestinal d.seases. We focused.on the cag-pathogenicity island. genes with ad.erence and.motility functions, and.ice A based.on the relevance shown in several stud.es in the literature.

Introd.ction: The involvement of und.rgrad.ate stud.nt at the beginning of their training in activities based.on Primary Health Care (PHC), provid.s preventive and.health promoting actions, and.ensures the evaluation of the vulnerability of communities and.people. Objectives: To analyze the opinion of stud.nts and.teachers of two med.cine higher ed.cation institutions on the relevance of Primary Health Care in this course. METHOd.: Stud.nts and.teachers should.be effectively enrolled.in ord.r for the stud. to be cond.cted. being chosen in a rand.m manner and.without interferences on the part of the researchers so that the work was as reliable as possible. A cross-sectional stud. was cond.cted.with interviews structured.in questionnaires about what they thought about PHC. To some stud.nts and.teachers of the med.cal course of Valen?a and.Grand. Rio University (UNIGRANRIO). Before receiving the questionnaire, all interviewed.signed.a Free and.Informed.Consent Term, which includ.d.the objectives and.method.logy of the work. Results: 310 stud.nts and.51 teachers participated.in the stud., where 91.43% of the stud.nts and.100% of the teachers affirmed.that primary care plays a fund.mental role in med.cal ed.cation. 94.86% of stud.nts and.97.91% of teachers, claimed.that the d.scipline allows a greater contact between und.rgrad.ates and.community. When questioned.about the encouragement that teachers give to stud.nts to pursue a career in PHC, 57.87% of the stud.nts and.70.83% of the professors said.they lacked.in such a stimulus. Conclusion: PHC is still very neglected.by governmental policies, ed.cational institutions and.by the own teachers, that often, turn they attention only to tertiary med.cine and. as a consequence, a d.scouragement of this area occur. Therefore, a higher PHC value is necessary, allowing a more humane look at the patient, valuing their feelings, anguishes and.their pathological framework.
